Part 19B:

Sakshi lowered her gaze away from him...and replied, "Patha hai...patha nahi phir bhi kyun poocha"

He looked at her trying to read her confusions...perhaps he could see that she was in a similar state as his own...but he didn't know why both were so stubborn or why was it so difficult for them to open up their hearts to each other...

He wondered what stopped them! Perhaps their mission was the reason...or was it...Roshni??

He didn't know...May be he had to wait...

He didn't get down...he didn't want to add in more things to confuse both of them...may be he just had to wait and sort out his confusions first...he had to figure out what he really wanted...Was he really ready to move ahead in life? Was he ready to move on with her?

He knew he wanted to protect her...he wanted to cherish her forever...he could realize all that from his thoughts...but was he in love with her? Had he fallen in love for the second time in life? He didn't know...

He had to find the answers to all this questions before he confronted her else it would be really unfair on her...In her present state of mind, the burden he would give her would be too much to handle...No he couldn't add to her troubles

Thinking all that, he turned to her, "Bye Sakshi...Good night...tum andhar jaao"

He just gave her a formal smile and she turned to walk inside...He kept looking at her retreating back but she didn't turn to him even once...

Just before entering the building, she turned around to see him but by then, he turned to the steering wheel to drive away!

They were both missing each other already but both were convinced that it was not yet time to let the other know about their true feelings! Yes, it was a mistake that happens to most people in love...well, these two were no different...Added to that mistake were Sakshi's own internal conficts about her promises to Roshni...She couldn't get closer to Arjun as she had a feeling that Roshni would never rest in peace if she did that!

A few days pass by and many things were happening at the same time...As ETF got involved into it, there was pressure within the department and as a result of all that, political pressure built up too...

Eventually, some progress happened in finding the true cause of the scam and the conspiracy...

They were just a few steps away from proving that Sakshi's dad was innocent in all this...and also that his murder was shown of as a suicide to save the faces of many VIPs and big shots!

Many masks were beginning to fall down...many new faces came out as well... Sakshi was relieved that all the hard work and troubles she had undergone were finally becoming fruitful and there was going to be light at the end of the dark tunnel!

But the relationship and interactions between Arjun and Sakshi pretty much remained the same...not anything more nor less...the respect, the trust, the care, the concern everything stayed intact or was it increasing with each passing day?

The rest of the team wasn't confused at all...Shree, Liza, Aisha and Chotu had already declared them as a couple...a perfect one indeed but yes the duo were still unaware of this...

One morning, Arjun called up Sakshi but she didn't pick the call...so he called Sam's residence to talk to Sakshi...Sameer picked the phone..."Hello...Sameer Rathod speaking"

Arjun: Rathod, Sakshi ko phone dena...

Sameer: Rawte?? kya baat hai? itne tensed kyun ho?

Arjun: kuch nahi...She isnt picking her phone...isiliye...

Sameer snapped him grinning but then he didn't say anything sarcastic but just replied, "Sakshi yahaan nahi hai Rawte...shaayad ETF office gayi hogi"

Arjun flaring up with Sameer's irresponsible talk, "kya matlab gayi hogi??? Tumne usse poocha nahi??? How can you let her go alone Rathod?"

Sameer: oh come on Rawte...woh bacchi nahi hai...she knows what to do and what not...woh kahi jaana chahthi thi...aur"

Arjun snapped him short, "aur tumne usse jaane diya??tum itne irresponsible kaise ho sakthe ho Rathod? You know that its not safe"

Sameer flared up and replied, "main usse kaise roktha? We don't have a right to stop her from doing something dammit"

Arjun snapped, "Forget it...tumse baat karke koyi faydha nahi and for your information...Sakshi ETF office mein nahi hai!"

He cut the phone wondering where Sakshi would have gone all alone...many thoughts bothered him as he zoomed through the roads anxious about her safety!

Sameer grinned at Arjun's angry out pour as he kept the receiver down...He felt someone's presence behind him...

As he turned around, Aisha voiced, "yeh kuch zyaadha nahi hogaya...I mean Arjun sir bohat pareshan hogaye honge..."

Sameer: I know Aisha but I guess its needed...bohat hogaya unn dono ka naatak...they are struggling with their real feelings and conflicts...usse kholke baahar nikhaalne ka waqt aaagaya hai...aisa kuch karke hi hum usse baahar nikhaal sakthe hai...

Aisha: phir bhi, humein Arjun sir ko bathaa dena chaahiye ke Sakshi kahaan hai...

Sameer: You think he wont find out...He must be right there at her home now...dont worry!

The previous night, Sakshi expressed her wish to go to her house once...she had so many things waiting to be settled there...she had left it all unattended in that tensed state...but somehow, she didn't inform that to Arjun...she herself didn't know why she didn't discuss it with him...perhaps, she felt that involving him would stop her from taking a viable decision which was good for both of them!

Sameer agreed and had asked Shree to pick her up early in the morning...So as per Sameer's plan, Shree brought her to her place early that morning...He also offered to help pack her things and also clear up some mess...

She had to decide a lot of things as to whether she would stay there or should she vacate it and shift to some other place...but everything depended on her future plans...plans about what next?

Her heart and mind always conflicted about her future...

On one side, she just wanted to stay there...close to the team...close to her friends...close to him...atleast she could see him from a distance...but on the other side, she just wanted to go away to some place where none knew her...The thought of staying close to him yet maintaining the distance was killing her many a times...At such times, she felt that it was better to be miles away from each other...perhaps, she would be in peace then!

Her work and thoughts were interrupted by a fuming voice, "aise mujhse bina pooche yahaan chale aane ka kya matlab hai Sakshi?"

Sakshi dropped the papers she gathered and Shree also looked to the direction of the voice...Arjun stood glaring at Sakshi...he hadn't noticed Shree then...

Shree muttered, "Arjun sir...aap yahaan?"

Arjun heard that and looked at Shree...He turned back to Sakshi accusingly meaning she had told Shree to accompany her but she didn't think its important to tell him that...

Sakshi could read those accusations clearly...Before the dam broke, Shree coughed to grab their attention, "Sakshi, main chaltha hoom...mujhe actually Liza ke saat kahi jaana hai...bye"

Arjun just acknowledged Shree with a nod...he mentallt appreciated Shree's thoughtfulness to give them some private time!

Sakshi didn't want Shree to leave but she knew that his presence could invite more trouble for all of them...Arjun could react in a bizarre way and the last thing she wanted was a third person to witness Arjun's anger...So she just nodded to Shree with a smile!

Shree left mentally praying that the couple sort it out without any more problems!

Meanwhile, at Rathod's place...

Aisha: it wont be easy for her...

Sameer: neither for him Aisha...but they will have to face it some day...the sooner the better...unnke inner demons ko baahar nikhalke hi yeh problem solve hoga...let them fight it out and come to a truce!

Aisha: yeh sab kehna bohat aasaan hai na?

Sameer looked at her perplexed but Aisha's confident look said it all...yes she was right...preaching, advicing, talking and discussing about all this was an easy task. But doing it actually wasn't...werent they both also in the same state??? But what was stopping them from talking and sorting it out? Why were they hiding the true emotions from each other? Whey weren't they facing it?

Sameer didn't have a definite reply but just walked to Aisha...

Facing her, he voiced..."karna bhi aasaan hoga agar hum apne dil ke aawaaz ko sune aur apne dhadkan ko mehsoos karein"

Such heart to heart talks were happening for the first time between them...She was surprised hearing him saying that...

He had hidden it all for too long...not anymore...may be his determination to bring Arjun and Sakshi together had put him in a self realization mode as well!

He slowly took her hands in his...she was too stunned to react...so she stayed still fixed to her tracks...he took her hand to his heart...placing it there, he voiced, "mehsoos karo ke mera dil kya keh raha hai..."

Aisha didn't utter a word but just stood mesmerized as if enchanted by his gesture!

He added still holding her palm against his chest, "bolo na Aisha, do you feel the same way as I feel for you?"

After Shree left, Arjun walked closer to Sakshi..."bolo Sakshi...why didn't you tell me?"

Sakshi silently looked at him for a long moment and then replied sternly, "Arjun, kitne din tum mere bodyguard bannke ghoomte phiroge, huh?"

That angered Arjun even more and he blurted out without a second thought, "toh tumne apne liye naya bodyguard chunn liya??"

Sakshi was annoyed at that but she controlled her anger and replied calmly, "Shree ko maine nahi bhulaaya...Sameer insisted that I don't go out alone...warna main akele hi chali aathi...I am not a small kid who needs a guardian with me always Arjun...I need to learn to handle this alone...In fact, I have been doing that all along till I met you Arjun!"

Arjun felt a little hurt when he heard that...Was she trying to tell him that she didn't need him anymore?

Arjun: ohh...isska matlab ke tumhe ab mere ya mere help ki zaroorat nahi hai...oh yes, how did I forget? You know to handle it all...

As he turned to leave, she felt a prick in her heart...her heart pained to see him hurt like that...she knew that she hurt him with her words...perhaps it was her intention too...She did say it all to distance him away from her...But whatever the reason was, seeing him like this was unbearable for her...

She couldn't let him go away like that feeling dejected and hurt!

She caught hold of his wrist in an impulse to stop him...and spoke up, "mera woh matlab nahi tha Arjun...I didn't mean to hurt you..."

That was his undoing...all his anger which he suppressed inside him hearing her curt words broke the barriers and came out at that same instant...

He turned back and caught hold of her firmly allowing no chances of her escaping away from his clutches...He glared at her!

All the indifference and formal ways that she had been imposing on him came back to him...He had understood that she wanted to maintain the distance between them or perhaps even widen the gaps...never once had he tried to know the reason for that from her!

But today he had to know the reasons...so he came straight to the point, "tum mujhse dur kyun jaana chahthi ho?"

She was taken aback by the sudden outburst of anger...and his sudden question shocked her more...

She replied, "aisi koyi baat nahi..."

Arjun pressed his fingers into her shoulders hurting her a little..."don't try to fool me around Sakshi...just tell me...[shaking her a bit] tum mujhse dur kyun jaa rahi ho?"

She replied in a lost tone when his urge to make her reply became stronger, "hum paas hi kab teh jo ab dur honge...werent we always poles apart Arjun?"

Arjun: [fuming at her words] ohh really...then why did you just throw yourself at me the other day...I know you wouldn't have stopped me from doing anything...kya tum sab ke saat...

Sakshi snapped him angrily, "ARJUN..."

Arjun: chillao matth Sakshi...agar sacch bathaane ke himmat nahi hai toh atleast sacch sunne ki aadhat dhaal lo...[looking into her eyes intently and added after a brief silence]..aur kitna paas aana chahthi ho...itne paas...[pulling her closer] ya itne paas...ya itne paas...[now their faces were just an inch away]

Her words just ceased...so were her thoughts...her quivering lips ached to bridge the distance and just tell him what she felt for him...but she stopped herself...

He could feel her body shivering in his tight hold...Slowly he loosened his hold and encircled her in his arms...He knew that today he had to close the distance between them...He had fought and tried suppressing his feelings for long enough...not any more...

And he knew that it was time she too realized that whatever be the reason for backing out from him, the truth still remains that she loved him and now he too had started loving her...

He wanted to tell her that she deserved his love...She too had the right to love him and get his love back...He knew he would make her realize that soon...

He didn't take an instant to bend further and capture her soft velvety lips with his...She couldn't break away or push him off her...

He deepened his kiss as his desires exploded the instant he touched her lips...
