Chapter 2
Character Sketch Part - 2:
Meet the Rajshri's!
Janak Rajshri - An enlightened man, in the thirst of knowledge and oozing with love for all people near and dear to him, a poignant man of few but meaningful words, Janak Rajshri is the Co-founder and Chairman of Mithila Interiors, a company founded by him not long before his first daughter's birth. He and his brother opened their dream start-up venture but it failed to work until the birth of the lady luck of the family, his eldest daughter. He comes from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh but lives in a villa in Panvel. His interiors company is a massive success thanks to his wonderful vision and the support he received from his family. He has great ideals and is only seldom angered or strict. He believes in the independence of a person and his or her choice. According to him, no one should be judged based on any of their physical traits or societal aspects. He loves his family dearly and doesn't fret to show it publicly as well. His daughters and nieces grew up in warmth and love but they also were given a normal upbringing upon his insistence so that they do not turn out as insolent brats who take things for granted. He has a high respectability in all fields of life but his respect is largely devoted to Lord Shiva. His company pays homage to the traditional artistry of Madhya Pradesh and incorporates artisans from remote villages as well. A man of wisdom and grace alongside a unique politeness, he is Janak Rajshri, my friends.
Sunaina Rajshri - A stern yet docile woman who complements her husband in every aspect of life, Sunaina Rajshri is the co-head of the Rajshri family. She chose to be a house-wife but whenever she gives advice to her husband, Janak, in matters related to work, her words have a lot of wisdom and practicality. Her opinions on every matter are considered very important in the house. She loves her daughters and nieces very much but knows when and when not to be stern with them too. A wise lady, she is always up for a debate or discussion on any topic with her husband or her daughters. She thinks that it is a woman's personal choice to have a career or handle a household and the choice should be prized. She is open-minded but prefers being a little traditional over modern. Her cooking skills are well-praised in the whole family and her eldest daughter, the light of the house, is considered to have inherited her skills in cooking from Sunaina. Her belief in Lord Shiva is very strong and she tells tales from the Ramayana to her daughters and nieces everyday. A devout woman with prized words, she is Sunaina Rajshri, my friends.
Kaushal Rajshri - The reflection of his older brother, bold and courageous, Kaushal is the Co-Founder and Vice-Chairman of Mithila Interiors. He believes in the same ideals as his brother and is very shrewd in business. He always defends and supports his elder brother, Janak, and is bold with his words. He always teaches his daughters and nieces to be fearless and live life with passion and vigour. He handles most of the diplomatic matters of the company. He puts in constant effort to be a good person in all aspects of life. Along side his elder brother, he too is a devotee of Lord Shiva. He too believes that family comes first and he loves his family very much. A man of grit and determination, he is Kaushal Rajshri, my friends.
Chandra Rajshri - A woman filled with exuberant love for her family and virtues reflecting her humble upbringing, Chandra is the wife of Kaushal. She respects her brother-in-law and sister-in-law very much and is a devotee of Lord Shiva too. She too is a housewife but in her leisure time, she draws wonderful showpiece designs for their interiors company. She too believes in the choice of a woman and thinks that a woman's skills define her more than her relations. She has seen a life of struggle before and after marriage into the Rajshri family but her resolve, love and compassion remain unfazed despite the hardships. She loves her daughters and nieces but can be strict as well. She doesn't get angry very easily and believes in nipping problems in the bud. A talented woman, wife and sister, she is Chandra Rajshri, my friends.
Now for the daughters of the Rajshri household...
Siya Rajshri - The lady luck of the Rajshri household and a combination of her mother and father's knowledge and virtues, ethereal beauty personified, Siya is the eldest daughter of Janak and Sunaina and eldest niece of Kaushal and Chandra. She is the apple of everyone's eyes in the house. It was only after her birth, Mithila Interiors started to become successful and well-known. She is an inspiration for her sisters and loves them to death. She too harbours open-minded ideologies and is well trained in scholarly subjects. But, despite being the eldest daughter and rightful successor to Janak in business, she made it clear to her parents that she wouldn't like to become a part of the company for her lack of interest in both interiors and business. She was rather inclined towards becoming a teacher and is currently the Head of Department of Mathematics and Math teacher for Grades 9 and 10 in Vidya Kendra School, Panvel, one of the most prestigious schools of Maharastra. She admires the ideals of the adults in the family. For her, her sister and two cousin sisters are the source of joy and love. She feels best when around her family. She too is devoted to Lord Shiva. Her advice is taken as supreme by her sisters. She is a trained kathak dancer and dance flows in her blood. She is courageous and bold, polite and well-mannered, a modern personification of Devi Sita herself, she is Siya Rajshri, my friends.
Urmila Rajshri - A little mischievous, a little temperamental, a little deceptive and a lot more lovable, Urmila is the younger daughter of Janak and Sunaina and younger sister to Siya. She loves her elder sister a lot and can go to any extent for her. If there's anyone with whom Sunaina could lose her levelheadedness and calm with in a minute or two, it's Urmila. Along with her younger cousin sister, she has wrecked a lot of havoc in the whole household. But with the household, she also wrecks havocs in courts for she is, professionally, a criminal lawyer. She has a certain way with words that has made her the youngest-ever lawyer to have won almost all of her court cases, even the few taken to higher court levels. She cannot imagine her life without Siya at all and is considered her living reflection by those around her. She is a trained kathak dancer just like Siya is and they both dance fabulously together. She has a certain affinity to pranking her elder cousin sister with her younger cousin sister as a partner in crime and enjoys the anger she faces from her end. The woman with a gift of gab and heart of gold, reflection of her older sister, she is Urmila Rajshri, my friends.
Manvi Rajshri - An unmistakable eye for perfectionism, searching art in every small thing, a calculated shrewdness along with a remarkable aim and decision-making, Manvi is the eldest daughter of Kaushal and Chandra. She is younger to Siya but older to Urmila. She feels like Siya is her safe haven where she can disclose anything and cry her heart out. But her younger sister and Urmila are her raging haven as they always find new ways to annoy the living hell out of her. She loves her parents and uncle and aunt but mostly her aunt as she always sides with her when Urmila pranks her. With her deep interest in the arts and vast knowledge of business, she has been declared the successor to the Chairman post in Mithila Interiors. She is currently working in an advisory post for her training period. She believes that independence in career and choice is very important. She was skeptical to accept the gesture made by her uncle, but the assurance that Siya gave her made her realize that it was a decision made trusting her capabilities and not age in the family. She is also a devotee of Lord Shiva. She is an artist in more ways than one. She is known for her skill in painting which she prides in the most. When Urmila and her own younger sister manage to get under her skin, her revenge pranks are equal to their menacing ones. Elegant and artistically graceful, eternally bound to her elder cousin sister, she is Manvi Rajshri, my friends.
Shrutika Rajshri - The youngest of a family filled with colours and joy, a girl with dreams and in possession of the art of making meaning out of dreams, Shrutika (nicknamed - Shruti) is Kaushal and Chandra's younger daughter. She is the youngest of all the four daughters of the house. She is in the final year of college, majoring in Psychology and is also simultaneously interning at Dharovar Hospital, Panvel as a clinical psychologist's protégé. She will then proceed to take up a course in mental health and therapy after which she may either professionally become a clinical psychologist or a therapist. Since childhood, she has always been the most curious, wanting to know the reasons behind every occurrence, every decision made. This curiosity led to her being considered an innocent young girl from the outside, but a matured double-edged sword with great levels of knowledge on the inside. If Urmila is gifted with the art of twisting words, she is gifted with the art of sweet-talking. They both form a deadly combination due to their gifts. In the absence of Siya, it is only Shruti who can charm people with her sweetness and politeness. But Shruti hates being in Siya's absence for Siya is what her life is tied to like all her other sisters. She too is devoted to Lord Shiva. She is a melodious singer who can hit some amazing notes. When she sings, Urmila and Siya dance and Manvi paints alongside, it is truly an amazing sight to witness and hear of. She likes finding the meaning behind dreams and random life incidents and even possesses a dream diary. She's filled with understanding far beyond what is assumed of her, charming her way through the masses and nurtured in Siya's warmth all her life, she is Shrutika Rajshri, my friends.
