Chapter 23

PART 23

The show was a huge success. The media was going nuts. They had never seen such an amazing show. The chemistry between Angad and Kripa was mind blowing. The response was amazing. The crown loved the two and wanted more.

Outside the hall, we have everyone wanting autographs and wanted to meet Kripa. They were mesmerized.

Naina, Damini were all waiting in the hall when Nitin and Sonia approached them. They didn't even know what to say except that the show was brilliant. Nitin said that he definitely wanted to do the promotional tour in a month. He said he will put up all the costs and take care of everything. Since this wasn't anything what Naina or Damini had expected they were ecstatic. They all decided to talk about the details within the week. Everyone agreed and dispersed.

Backstage we have girls swimming around Angad, wanting his autograph. Then we see Kripa enter from her dressing room. People flock to her praising her for what a wonderful job she had done. Angad watched all his fans run to her, but he was angry he was almost proud of Kripa. He knew that she would be able to do all this but he just felt that if those two stuck together then nothing would ever be able to beat them. As Kripa is signing books, we see a little boy yell, autography please. Kripa looks down and sees her sweetest, smallest, best friend, Rahul. She grabs him and squeezes him. They both have a genuine hug while the cameras are going nuts. Finally things settle down and Karthik announces that there is a grand party for everyone at Club V. He informs both Kripa and Angad that they have to go. Kripa is obviously really tired but decides that she will stop by for a little bit. Her plan was to show her face and then take off.

They all got ready and headed to the club. Kripa and Angad went separately as they still have not gotten a chance to see one another after the show. They have only had glimpses of one another but not had the chance to talk. Angad arrives and is bombarded by fans. Everyone is congratulating him left and right. They praised him and his new costar. They were really impressed. Then a little later we see Kripa enter. She looked ravishing in a simple baby pink skirt and white halter-top. Everyone started congratulating her and complimenting her.  She was obviously flatted like no other.

As she was being congratulated, all she really wanted to do was run to Angad and congratulate him. She thought that he did the best ever. Her eyes were looking for him the whole time. Finally she spotted him sitting at the bar with Misty and some of their friends. She was about to go to him, when Prithvi tapped her. He congratulated her and they both started talking. They were discussing how everything went so smoothly. At this point she just wanted to blow Prithvi off. She really wanted to wish Angad. She looked in the bars direction and to her surprise he had left. Her heart sank. She looked at Prithvi and kept on listening. Finally someone yelled out Prithvi's name and he excused himself. Kripa watched him leave and slowly turned around kinda sad.

As she turned she saw that Angad was right behind her. She smiled so large and just hugged him. Angad too hugged her back. They both embraced for a moment and pulled away. At the same time they both said, congratulations. Hearing at the same time they both busted out laughing. Then they had a pleasant conversation about how everything went really well. Then one by one, the whole gang came to them and they all started talking. Angad got really busy with his friends, and Kripa noticed that he was a bit preoccupied. She was also getting really tired and decided to call it a night. She said good night to some that were around her and quietly slipped out of the club. She actually wanted to be alone and just gather herself.

As she was walking out of the club, she ran into Prem. They both exchanged glances and had a very formal conversation. Prem congratulated Kripa on an amazing performance. As he was about to ask her where she was going, his phone rang. Kripa was relieved. She just wanted to be alone for while. She tapped him and whispered, I will talk to you later, you carry on with your phone call. Kripa left even before Prem had a chance to say anything. He say her sitting in the rikshaw and leaving. He just smiled while watching her leave. You can feel that there is something that attracts him to her.

As Kripa is sitting in the rikshaw she is thinking of the nights events. She is thinking of how much fun she had and what an amazing experience it was. She thinks of all the people that have helped her get to the place where she is in life. She thinks of Harshini, Karan and all her friends. In her heart, she thanked God for giving her such great friends and a friend like Angad. She then decided to go to the mandir before going home. She figured that since things were going really well in life, she should thank the one person that made it all possible, God. She stopped by Mandir and then headed home.

As she was walking up the pathway, we see Angad grab her. He turns her around, Kripa is awfully frightened as she has no idea of this is. When she sees Angad she has a sense of relief and smacks him lightly on his arm. She says, there was no reason for you to scare me like that. Angad says, well there was no reason for you to leave the club. I didn't even get a chance to talk to you properly. She smiled and said you were busy with all your friends I didn't want to disturb you. Plus I was really tired. He said, you would never have disturbed me, especially since the whole night I was only looking for you. Kripa was all smiles and then suddenly remembered something. She looked at Angad and said, promise me that you will wait here just for a minute. Before Angad could respond, Kripa took off to the outhouse.

A minute or so later we see Kripa coming back. She looks like she is hiding something. She takes Angad by his hand and they both go to the little bridge. She says, Angad please close your eyes. With a naughty face, he says as long as you promise not to do anything to my izzat. Kripa smacks him and says, don't worry I won't rape you. They both smile. Angad closes his eyes and puts his hand out. Kripa places a little red box in his hand. Angad opens his eyes and stares with a very confused look at the box.

Kripa says open it. He does and it's a little statue of Ganesh. She says, I wanted to say thank you for everything and congratulate you on such a successful show. Its really small, but it will always keep you safe and out of harms way. Angad was so touched. He never in his whole life got such a beautiful gift from anyone. He was so touched that he had tears in his eyes. He cupped the statue in his hands and hugged Kripa really tight. She was a bit confused and taken aback. But nonetheless hugged him back. They chatted for a bit longer and finally said good night to one another.
