Chapter 11

Next morning...an alarm beeps...Kripa immediately gets up...opens her bedroom curtains to let sunshine into her room and gets ready for college.
Kripa is cooking in the kitchen when in bounces Anitah (19). Kripa is busily humming and working and Anitah comes up behind her and picks up a green celery stick and begins munching on it, she jumps up onto the counter.
Kripa: Anitah tum bhi na...she turns around holding up a steaming pot of chaai then stops in her tracks
she places the hot pot back onto the stove...placing her hands on her hips Kripa scrutinizes the 3 inch something baby pink skirt Anitah is wearing.
Anitah batts her lashes almost innocently: dids kya hua? esse mujhe dekh kyu rahi ho app
Kripa: yeh aaj kal kya tumne kapde pehna chordiya hai kya? yeh kya pehna hai tumne..agar papa yaha hothe aur tumhe galthi dekhlethe to tum par kithna naraz hothe...batha hai na...jao jaake kuch dang se kapde pehen kar aao
Anitah rolls her eyes: didi ithna bhashan dene ki kya zaroorat thi...aur isseme waise kya kharaabi hai...
she flips back her hair: yeh latest fashion hai
Kripa rather strictly: jao...abhi jao
Anitah jumps off the counter sulkily

After a stressful day at college cause off the nearing exams...and being this her final year...Kripa is stressed
she hauls her books on her bed and changes into a clean pair of clothes ---A sleeveless baby pink salwaar kameez with silver embroidery edging on the sides
She picks up her resume...her purse and scurries down the stairs almost bumping into Anirudh (12).
Kripa: oops sorry..
Anirudh observes the files in his big sister's arms:didi aaj to aapka interview hai
He holds out his hand...Kripa takes it
All the best didi...aapko yeh job to milni hi hai...cuz you're the best
Kripa pinches his cheeks: kyu aaj kuch jahiye..jo ithna maska maare ho apni didi ko
Anirudh smiles shakes his head from side to side: nahi didi...woh bas...athe waqt
Kripa smirks:hmmm...athe waqt kya jahiye?
Anirudh: bas woh apko maine dikhayi thi na woh cricket bat...please didi woh...please
Kripa pats his cheeks: teek hai par sirf agar woh zyada mehnga nahi hai toh
Kripa is about to shut the front door when Karthik comes out...decked out
Kripa: Karthik...kya baath hai aaj saj savar ke kaha jaare ho
Karthik jumpy:ah woh apne dostho ke saath ...film dekhne
Kripa: acha...mai tumhe shaam ko milungi..teek hai
Karthik suddenly remembers: arre haan..aaj to aapka interview hai...Good luck
Kripa:thanks
Kripa catches a taxi and sets off to "Kapoor enterprises"

Angad picks up his project files from his office and is descending down the stairs when
"Angad...beta tum kaha jaare ho?"
Angad looks up to see his father's face--Dilip Khanna standing at the top of the stairs
Angad: dad mai Kapoor enterprises jaara hoon...dad agar humara project pass hua na to yeh bohoth hi faaydemand sabith hoga humare company keliye
Dilip Khanna: Okay..I will not delay you son..you proceed
