Chapter 10

aur...aur ek aur baath hai...he digs his nails into the palm of his hand nervously
Angad and Mishti:ab kya?
Karthik: Papa arrange marriage mai vishvas rakthe hai
Mishti: urgh..tumhe to na
Karthik: isliye...humme kuch essa karna chahiye jaha dono parties semath ho
Angad: whateva...jo bhi karna hai par issme mai kya karu?
Mishti glares at him
Angad backs up: I mean to say tum dono ek doosre ko pyar karthe ho...shaadi bhi tum dono ko karna hai...toh phir...mere kuch karne se kya hoga
Mishti:just shut up
Karthik gets out of the car...leaning through the window he bids good bye to Mishti and Angad...and then disappears inside his house.
Angad casually glances at his brand new silver quartz watch--He shakes his hand---trying to adjust to the fact that it's quarter past five and he's late for office
Angad now really put off: mujhe office keliye der hogayi...pehli baar essa hua hai aur upar se meri meeting bhi shuru hogayi hogi
He speeds up
Mishti twirls a strand of her hair carelessly:kya tum bhi sirf pandra minute ki der huwi hai...panch gante late nahi huwe ho...jo ithna chir rahe ho
Angad irritably: Mishti..please
aur yeh lo tumhara ghar agaya
Mishti pissed off: I know ki...mera ghar agaya hai
with that she slams the door and jogs upto her front porch...jangling with her keys.
Angad then drives off.

Sharma House
Kripa bends down further until her nose almost touches the newspaper on her kitchen counter. Finally spotting yet another job advertisement...she takes out the black marker that was neatly sitting in her sleek black hair.
Kripa: hmmm....
she circles the ad of a company labelled as "Kapoor Enterprises" and then another of a "Khanna Industries". and then she jots down their numbers in her planner.
Heaving a sigh, she gets up to stir the steaming hot daal(curry) she has made and then starts arranging the dining table with silverware,plates,glasses etc.
