Chapter 4- Exciting, eh?

After finishing packing, they went to get ice cream to celebrate their last day before separation. Suhani's flight was the next morning.

"Call whenever you get a chance." Mahi sniffed.

"And email us every night." Vidya added.

"We don't want to miss a second of your life," Niharika mocked the other two. Resuming seriousness she added, "And don't be so incredibly…" boring? No, she needed a nicer word. "Suhani. Do something exciting, okay?" She nodded. Exciting and Suhani? Ha! At least with Niharika saying it, Suhani would actually try to make this trip exciting.

The plane had left her bored, tired, and jetlagged. She tapped her fingernails vigorously against the empty tray in front of her. Clickety Clickety Click. Clickety Clickety Click.

"Could you please stop that?" a male voice said from the seat behind her. She turned to see the man; he looked her age if not older. His hair was thick black curls that shined against his forehead and his eyes a deep chocolate brown. They reminded her of Vidya.

"Sorry." She blushed out of embarrassment.

"It's okay. I can understand your boredom. Where are you going?" He inquired politely.

"I believe us three are going to Madrid." She smiled cleverly. He looked puzzled.

"Three? Who's going with you?" He frowned. Was he expecting her to travel alone? What if he was some type of Spanish-Indian serial rapist that preyed on girls that traveled alone by plane and later killed them? Wow, that was defiantly something Mahi would come up with.

"Three as in me, you, and the plane I'm going alone." I know karate; she had the urge to add. "Why are you going to Madrid?" She smiled. He paused shortly before replying, "I'm here for some dumb art workshop my mom teaches. I go every year. Volunteering, I guess." He sighed in dismay. "What about you?"

"I'm here for a art workshop too. What did you say your name was again?"

He hit his own head out of forgetfulness, "How rude of me, I'm Rajvir Goswami"

"Son of Sunaina Goswami. I'm a big fan."

"Call me Raj, call me Veer. Call me Barney for goodness sakes! But don't keep mentioning my mom. It's embarrassing." He laughed heartily. That made Suhani smile.

"Suhani Patel." They shook hands.

"The late entry!" He added in epiphany.

"Huh?"

"You sent in your application in late and Maa didn't wanna accept you but I somehow…um…convinced her?" He said unsure. She looked at him curiously.

He added somewhat nervously, "I really liked your sample painting. The one of the cactus flower in the desert." He smiled unsurely again.

"Thanks. So where are you from?" Suhani finally smiled, this guy was genuine. Friend worthy, she noted. Most guys would try to flirt with her or ramble endlessly about her beauty, but she enjoyed actually conversation.

"Mumbai. What's Benaras like?" He had read her application, she was impressed.

"Hot, crowded, and busy." She played with her nails again.

"Funny. Mumbai's the same. So Suhani you're an amazing girl. This is gonna sound so weird but could you do me this enormous favor." He asked unsure again.
