Arushi: Maya!!! Hurry Up!!! Reshmi will be here soon!!
Maya: Aru, I'm nervous! I can't believe I'm getting married in three days!
Arushi: you better believe it! I cant' believe I played matchmaker though! Who would have thought that you would end up marrying Mr. Nirvana?
Maya: Aru! Stop calling Rahul that! Just because he owns it, doesn't mean it's his last name too!
Arushi: sorry…. I forgot "Jiju" was such a touchy subject with you!
Maya: don't call him that either!! He hates it and so do I!!!
Arushi: yes miss bride!
The doorbell rings.
Arushi: ok let's go, it's probably her.
They both go downstairs and Maya quickly goes to the kitchen to eat something before she gets mehndi on her hands.
Arushi: what are you doing here?
Maya: Aru? Who is it? AHHH!!!
Maya screams as she feels two hands snake around her waist. She immediately turns around!
Maya: Rahul, you're such a…
Rahul: yes? Continue…
Maya: I don't know! Just leave me alone! What are you doing here?
Rahul: I wanted to see the mehndi on your hands.
Maya: well you're too early!
Right as Maya says that the doorbell rings.
Arushi: Maya! Reshmi's here!
Maya comes out of the kitchen and greets the woman who is to apply mehndi to her…
Arushi: Reshmi, you met Maya at my mehndi party? And this is her fianc Rahul.
Rahul: nice to meet you Reshmi.
Reshmi: same here. Shall we get started before the rest of the guests come?
Maya: ya.
Maya sits down on a footstool in the loft and Reshmi gets started on Maya's mehndi. When she finishes Maya's she starts on Arushi's. By that time all of Maya's friends and relatives start coming and so Rahul goes and opens the door for them. While Maya is standing alone by the stove, applying heat to her mehndi covered hands; Rahul comes and puts his chin on her shoulder.
Rahul: so? Three more days till you're Mrs. Maya Rahul Khanna!
Maya: I know…. but now you should go home Rahul…
Rahul: why? You don't want me around?
Maya: that's not it….
Rahul: then? (Adi comes in)
Adi: Maya is just being mean like Arushi was during our wedding!
Rahul: oh really? And did you leave? (Arushi comes in)
Arushi: what do you think?
Rahul: he didn't leave?
Maya: very good Rahul!! Your intelligence has definitely improved since we first met!
Rahul: Adi, how is she supposed to pay for that insult?
Adi takes Rahul to the side and whispers something in his ear and they both laugh
Maya: Adi? What did you say to him?
Arushi: you really think Adi's gonna tell? Rahul, you tell us, what did he say?
Adi: I said….
Arushi: tell us!!!
Adi takes Arushi to the side and whispers in her ear…Arushi giggles….
Maya: Aru…. tell me!!
Arushi: nope!
Maya: please Aru "Bhabhi!!!"
Arushi: uggh…you know I hate when you call me that!
Maya: then you better tell me!!
Arushi: you'll find out three days from now.
Maya: you guys are ganging up on a future bride! You'll regret it you know!
Arushi: really?
Maya: uh huh! I'm gonna be your worst nightmare come alive!
Adi: you already are!
Maya: Adi!! How mean!
Maya walks out of the kitchen and goes to her room…. with Rahul following her.
Adi puts his hand on Arushi's stomach.
Adi: so when are we gonna tell them?
Arushi: after the wedding…
Adi: why after?
Arushi: because if we tell them before, Maya's not gonna let me dance at the sangeet or the reception!!!
Adi: that's why you don't wanna tell them that you're pregnant?
Arushi: That and I don't wanna steal her thunder from her wedding!
Adi: aww…you're so considerate! That's why I married you!
Arushi: that's the only reason?
Adi: that and….
Arushi: and??
Adi: and umm you're pretty…. and oh ya because I love you sooo much!!!
Arushi: I can never win with you can I?
Adi: nope and you never will! And you know I love teasing you!
Arushi: ya whatever…. can you bring me some water?
Adi fills up a glass of water and places it on the counter near Arushi.
Arushi: you'll have to give it to me.
Adi: why?
Arushi holds up her mehndi covered hands.
Adi: oh ya.
Adi holds up the glass to Arushi's mouth and she drinks the water.
Adi: has Rahul left yet?
Arushi: last I saw he went to Maya's room. Why?
Adi: I need to talk to him about the surprise item for tomorrow's sangeet.
Arushi: surprise item?
Adi: ya Rahul and me are going to do a surprise item for Maya and then get her to dance with us.
Arushi: interesting….
Adi: ya not really! We haven't rehearsed at all!
Arushi: ohhh well then good luck! Rahul should be in Maya's room right now.
They both go upstairs to Maya's room and see Maya sitting at her dresser, while Rahul is brushing out her hair.
Adi: what are you, a girl??
Rahul turns around and sees them
Rahul: no, I'm helping my fianc; it'll get me on her good side before the wedding.
Adi: whatever, I need to talk to you, come with me
Maya and Arushi start talking and laughing while Adi and Rahul leave.
Rahul: what did you want to talk about?
Adi: Tomorrow's sangeet and I uhh wanted to ask you a question/favor?
Rahul: tell me…
Adi: firstly we're meeting at one right to practice at the hall?
Rahul: yes…. but what's the favor?
Adi: um…. Raj is in town and I was wondering if he could attend the wedding festivities?
Rahul: Adi…I think its fine, but I don't know about Maya, why don't you just as her?
Adi: I would except I wanted him to be part of the surprise dance in tomorrow's sangeet.
Rahul: Adi, I think it should be fine; we've all grown up after 3 years. Don't ya think?
Adi: ok, so I can call him?
Rahul: sure, I wonder how he'll take the news.
Adi: we're about to find out…. (He calls Raj)
Raj: hello?
Adi: Hi Raj, its Adi.
Raj: Adi, how are you?
Adi: I'm doing well, how about you?
Raj: pretty good, so did you call for any important reason?
Adi: ya…um…. Raj Sunday is Maya's wedding and…
Raj is totally stunned at hearing about Maya's wedding. He had hoped that this trip to Toronto might change things between him and Maya. When he had come to Toronto two years ago for Jhanvi and Aman's wedding, him and Maya had made eye contact several times but both never had the guts to actually speak to each other. After that when Raj came to Toronto a year ago for Adi and Arushi's wedding, he had spoken with Maya and they had both decided to forget the past and become friends again. It was during this trip that he had found out that Maya was seeing Rahul. He had no idea things had progressed this far, that they were getting married.
Adi: Raj, are you still there?
Raj snaps out of memory lane.
Raj: ya, um that's great! So the wedding's on Sunday?
Adi: Ya and I was wondering if you wanted to come.
Raj: me? Come to Maya's wedding?
Adi: ya, and Rahul and I wanted you to perform to a special song for her, with us.
Raj: Adi…. I don't think…Maya would….
Adi: don't say no! It would make Maya happy. Anyway we're practicing tomorrow in Shubh Vivah hall at 1:00pm. You better be there! BYE!
Raj hangs up and thinks about if he should go to Maya's wedding or not.
