Part 8

 

The next morning came…the sun shining brightly and happily. Tannu gets up…she goes to the bathroom and showers…coming out in a towel. She looks up and sees Zaib leaning against the closet…smirking and a naughty look in his golden eyes. He walks to her…she walks backwards and hits the wall. She closes her eyes when he is standing right in front her…he puts his hands on the wall on her sides…placing his face close to hers. She felt his breath on her face…her face turned red as his hand strayed down her shoulder…close to the towel…about to pull it off.

T- Zaib stop no

She opens her eyes and sees no one there…she was alone against the wall. She shakes her head with a sweet smile and gets dressed in a blue sari. She sits on her dressing table and puts on mascara and eyeliner. She then puts on beautiful blue earrings and a necklace that had a heart locket. She then puts on a ring on her thumb…her wedding ring to be exact. She gets her bag and walks to the orphanage that was only 10 minutes away. On the way unknown to her…a couple was watching her from their car. It was Angad and Kripa. They follow her silently as she enters the orphanage and greets all the kids. She picks up Krish and takes him out with her. They go to the beach…he plays around while she writes something in her journal.

K- mama aap ek gana gao na please

T- lekin ab is waqt? How about later?

K- paka

T- promise

He goes back and starts playing when Angad and Kripa walk to him and start playing with him. They heard him call Tannu mama so decided to ask him some question.

Kripa- beta woh lady aap ki kya lagti hai?

Krish- woh meri mom hain…well not really woh humare orphanage ki owner hai aur main unhi apni mom manta hoon

A- aur woh tumhe ye kehne deti hai?

K- haan who mujhe apna beta samajhti hai aap ye kyon puch rahe ho uncle aunty?

Kripa- no reason beta thik hai hum ab chalte hain bye beta

K- bye

They go to their car and drive home…wondering about the little kid and Tannu. They enter the house and see everyone there talking about Gauri's baby. They sit down next to them…Angad looks around and doesn't see Zaib anywhere.

A- where's Zaib

S- he's in his room

Angad gets up and goes to see Zaib. He opens the door and sees him looking at a picture…tears falling down his face. He looks up as Angad closes the door and tries to look casual…wiping his tears away. Angad sits down next to him and takes the picture from him…Tannu's picture.

A- you still love her huh?

Z- bhai why did she do this to me? Why did she betray me bhai…I loved her so much…I gave her everything she ever wanted…I even cooked for her which I never do.

Zaib hugged Angad crying…needing assurance. Angad ran his hand threw his hair calming and relaxing him. He looks at his younger brother's face and sees a heartbroken guy…not his confident Zaib.

A- Zaib how do you know she even betrayed you?

Z- what do you mean bhai?

A- I mean look deep in your heart and tell me do you really think she betrayed you?

Zaib closes his eyes…he opens them slowly realization falling on his face.

Z- no bhai I don't think she ever would do that

A- see…I don't think so either. I remember seeing her on the phone once…scared and crying…she was telling the person "No please don't do this please don't hurt her". I think she was told to behave like she did. Now I think we should do some research and find out if I'm right.

Time goes by as the two brothers search for evidence. It's been 7 months already and they still had no proof. Gauri gave birth to a beautiful baby boy…they still have to name him. Tannu was now in her last month…she has a week left before her due date. Her doctor had to leave and was replaced by…..Anjali Nanda. The two became great friends and Tannu now thinks of Anjali and Kavya as her siblings. Nikki…their adopted daughter was really cute and loved her parents. Tannu was forced to live with the Nandas thanks to her doctor/friends demand. They all took care of her…Krish was now officially her son…she adopted him and he lives with her and the Nandas. The past 7 months had been hectic for the poor pregnant Tannu…the baby kicking in the middle of the night disrupting her sleep…her crazy hormones…she seemed to like eating weird combos of foods that are not in the same category. She was now in the mall looking at some clothes with Anjali and Kavya…well mostly Kavya as Anju ran around buying this and that for the baby. Right now Tannu and Kavya were walking down the hallway trying to catch up to Anjali…which was hard considering Tannu's pregnancy. Finally Anjali stopped and waited for them. They decided to leave now when Anjali hits her head.

A- shit

K- what's wrong?

A- I saw this gorgeous necklace for Tannu let's go back and get it

T- its ok Anju I don't need it

A- no you do…please for me accept it yaar

T- ok baba lets go and get this necklace

They turn around and come face to face with the Khannas…Gauri, Shiv, Kripa, Angad, and Zaib. Gauri was holding a baby in her arms. They were looking at Tannu's stomach in shock. Tannu felt so many emotions hitting her…happiness at seeing everyone after so long…sadness that she wasn't there with them…excitement for the new baby. Her heart yearned to hug everyone and to hold the baby in her arms and spoil it. She took a step to hug Gauri and then remembered her words, "Don't you dare come near me again". She stopped and looked at everyone…happy to see them healthy and okay. She turned to Kavya and Anjali.

T- chalo Anju show me the necklace you were talking about.

She starts walking away when Shiv's voice stops her.

S- Tannu…apne nephew se nahin milogi?

She turns around and sees him smiling at her…she was so shocked.

T- I would love to but maybe your forgetting mera aur is parivaar ka koi rishta nahin hai…na ek bahu ka…na ek Sali ka………..aur na ek behen ka.

She turns around…tears in her eyes. She was about to leave again when she was stopped…this time by Gauri's voice.

G- maine tumhe mujhse koi rishta na rakhne ke liye kaha tha…lekin tunhe kabhi apne nephew se door jane ke liye nahin kaha tha

T- didi aap ka matlab main…

G- yes here you go

She hands the baby to a happy Tannu. She looks at the baby and kisses him on his forehead…cheeks…nose…his whole face. She looks so thankful to Gauri that it broke everyone's heart. Did she really think that Gauri would keep her from the baby? She handed the baby back to Gauri…not wanting to…wanting to hold him for a little longer.

T- whats his name?

G- haven't decided yet

T- oh…well kya main isse jaan bula sakti hoon?

G-………..sure

T- thank you…he's really beautiful…looks just like you but has jiju's nose and smile…and his eyes are like…..

G- yours

T- yea mine

K- Tannu?

T- yes Kripa?

K- tum pregnant…kabse ho? Its Zaib's right?

Tannu looked at Zaib…his eyes full of hope…love…begging her to say yes.

T- maloom nahin

Shock reflects on everyone's face…she said so casually and calmly…breaking Zaib's heart with those two words. Anjali was looking at Tannu in surprise. What was she saying? Of course it's Zaib's.

A- Tannu what are you saying? Of course its—

T- lets go Anju…Krish and Nikki are waiting for us

She turns and walks away from everyone…leaving behind a shocked crowd and a wondering Zaib. The girl was saying that of course it was his but Tannu interrupted her just before she said his name. Why was she trying to hide it from him? Anjali and Kavya follow silently…not asking her the reason. On Friday…they were woken up by tannu's screams…she was in labor.  They took her to the hospital and got her in her room. Kavya called Zaib and told him that Tannu was in labor. He came and listened to her yells and screams. 10 hours later…a baby's scream is heard…making Zaib's heart flutter with love. He couldn't wait to see his baby…yes his baby. Anjali had called him and told him that it was his…and the reason for Tannu's behavior…she was blackmailed…but about what was still unknown. He enters the room and sees her sleeping and the baby wide awake looking around her curiously…a baby girl…he had a baby girl…no he had two baby girls…one Tannu and the other his angel…his pari.

He picks her up and starts talking nonsense going, "ga ga" and other baby talk.

Z- I promise you my angel….main tumhe hamesha protect karoonga…tumhe kabhi bhi rone nahin doonga…tumhari en khoobsurat ankoon mein ansoon nahin ane doonga…aur bigde hue ladko koon tumse door rakhonga…tumhari har ik khuaish puri karoonga…tumhe hamesha apne paas rakhonga…aur aaj ke baad tumhari mama ko kabhi rone nahin doonga…usse bahut pyar doonga…us par hamesha barosa karoonga…I promise you meri pyaari pari…my lovely angel…tum bilkul apni mom pe gayi ho…lekin tumhari smile aur aankhein meri hain. [I promise you my angel…I will always protect you…never let you cry…never let tears enter your beautiful eyes…and keep naughty guys away from you…fulfill your every wish…always keep you close to me…and from now on never let you mom cry…love her a lot…always trust her…I promise you my lovely angel…my lovely angel…your just like your mom…but you smile and eyes are mine]. {hey stormy how was this for a sweet father-daughter moment}

Unknown to him…Tannu was wide awake and listening to his speech. Tears entered her eyes…he was so sweet…he looked perfect holding his baby girl and talking to her. He looks up and sees her sitting there watching him with a sweet smile. She meets his gaze…for a second…then looks away unable to answer the question she knows he has. He goes to her and sits in front of her…handing the baby to her. She takes her and looks at her baby girl…just like Zaib her heart is filled with warmth and love. Without looking up she says one word.

T- Pari

He replies…strongly…calmly…lovingly.

Z- Pari

She looks up at him…their eyes meeting…once again silence greets their ears as their eyes ask and answer questions…without words…they didn't need those words. Words were only used to say something but eyes…they expressed feelings…hope…love…everything…they are the windows to the soul. And looking in her soul…he wondered how he ever doubted her love?

Z- I know why you acted so mean to me and everyone Tannu

T- why?

Z- someone forced you to

T- I don't know what you're talking about

Z- yes you do…and I promise I'll find out the reason for it too

He gets up and leaves…leaving behind his two angels. Tannu smiled softly…he wouldn't stop until he found out she knew that he will. She played with her baby for a while…a knock disrupted her play time. She looked up and saw a woman with brown hair and brown eyes. Shock enters her eyes and faces.

T- TUM!!!! What the hell are you doing here????
