With My Herd

Kripa started her day with coffee from Frank's place. It was a Delhi, but Kripa called it Frank's place since he was the cashier there.. "I swear the coffee here is the only reason why I'm still in New York", she said the cashier. Today was the last day of her classes. Summer break was starting tomorrow, and Kripa couldn't have been sadder. It sucked to not have a boy friend, and now she had to go through the whole summer without one too? Life and all its wonders…

While Kripa was mourning over very dead love life, Angad and Vedika were sleeping on their very alive bed. Vedika woke up at he sound of her alarm, and pulled herself from under Angad's body. She left out a yawn and she came out of the bathroom. It was her last class as well. Vedika quickly brushed her hair and went to pick up her watch on the side table next to Angad. She reached for the watch, Angad reached her from behind and pulled her back under him. "A very good morning to you my love", he said as he kissed her. "Yeah, yeah…now wake up. I have a class and so do you", Vedika said trying to push Angad away. Vedika slipped away from under Angad and ran out the door yelling, 'There's Pop Tarts in the toaster", as she left. Angad sighed and ran into bathroom when he realized that he had is last class today too.

Shazad picked up his bag and left to his car. He had to meet Kripa at Frank's place before leaving to class.

Meem was walking down to her car and she kept reciting a prayer asking Allah to help her on her final exam. Her prayer was interrupted by Hussein who drove up in front of the car. He came out with his arms open to hug his new girlfriend, and Meem quickly moved aside. "What?", Hussein asked. " My parent could be watching idiot…go way", she whispered as she went into her car. "Go away?", repeated Hussein in a confused manner.

"Kripa!", screamed out Shazad as he ran into the bus. Kripa car was getting fixed after some bimbo made a dent on the side on her car while parking. She was supposed to be dropped by Shazad to her college this morning but it seemed Shazad was a bit late…more like an hour late.

Shazad ran into the bus just as it was to leave, and caught a seat to Kripa. "Dude…what…why…dude", Shazad said as he tried to speak while catching his breath. "Shazad! I was waiting for a freaking hour, where were you?", Kripa demanded. "I had business to take care of", he said laying back on the seat. Kripa rolled her eyes as asked very impolitely, "What business?" Shazad took a breather for a second and simply didn't answer. "Shazad...I'm asking you something", Kripa said getting annoyed. "Chill out mama, your acting like my girlfriend"! Shazad bit his tongue right after saying that, as he saw Kripa's face change from annoyed to angry. "I didn't mean it like that Krips", he said. Kripa just nodded her head and got off the bus since her stop had come. Shazad laid back on the chair again, "Stupid Angad…dumb Vedika".

In the college campus Meem was going in the library finishing up her studying for her exam. She was majoring in Life Science, which was one very hard subject. Why? Why did she ever decide to become a doctor? Her head was spinning from all the reading, and highlighting and memorizing and…then Hussein came in. "Are you parent here", Hussein asked teasing Meem. "Shut up", replied Meem seeming not a bit interested in him. Hussein, now had to change that. He picked up her head ad kissed her lips, refusing to let go. Eventually they had to catch a breath. God damn the human body for having to breath thought Hussein as he departed from her lips. "Test today?", asked Hussein playing with Meem's highlighter. "Yeah…I cant wait until its over, I really need a break", she said. "And you! Do you not know how strict my parents are! What the hell were you thinking when you came to my house", she added. Hussein looked down for a minute then looked at Meem,

"I don't know. I was thinking I wanted to see my girlfriend. Or did you forget that you're my girl…"

"I remember you loser…but just keep it on the low from now on. Or else my father would seriously beat the crap out of me", she Meem getting back to her book. Hussein smile and pulled her chin up, "That'll never happen. I'll never let anyone put a scratch on you…even it is your daddy dearest". Meem was strangely flattered by Hussein. She decided to give him another kiss and went into her studying.

"I love you"

" Love you too"

"I love you more"

"I love you more then more"

Angad and Vedika went on with the I love you's all through break. It seemed that Angad spent more time in Vedika's dorm then he did in his own. Angad played with her hair as she made an attempt to fold her clothes for the first time in days. "Babe, can you meet me tonight", Angad asked still playing with Vedika hair. "Where", she replied.

"Well, the guy and I are going to go out drinking tonight, and I wanted you to meet me afterwards. We could hit the club or go someplace", he said.

"Yeah…what time?", Vedika asked placing her clothes the dresser.

"Well…around 2...AM", Angad murmured. Vedika laughed and looked at Angad as if he were crazy. "Angad, you think I'm going to take the train to meet to at a club at 2 in the morning then you crazy", she crazy very bluntly. Angad whined and sighed, "But…". "No! I'm not getting raped two in the morning for you. Sorry".

Angad rolled his eyes, "Okay…maybe next time". They both left for their next class. "By the way love, I still love you more", Angad said kissing Vedika as they parted ways. "I love you too", Vedika whispered to herself.

Meem left her house and went to the park, where she met up with Hussein. "So, you ready", he asked. "Yeah...my parents think in dining with my cousin", replied Meem getting into Hussein's car. "And where are these cousins or yours", he asked. "I don't know, getting drunk someplace", laughed Meem. "Well then…lets hit the club", yelled out Hussein while giving Meem a kiss. Half way through the ride Meem said, "Just so you know, I don't do the whole drinking thing". "Okay…neither do I….much", responded Hussein with a smirk.

It was summer break for almost all colleges. In other words, the clubs were p**ping tonight. Everyone was partying like there was no tomorrow. Kripa was also in the club dancing the night away. Life was meant to be lived…even if it was without love. That was Kripa's philosophy, she was never going to let any guy ruin her party days. But, she so needed a guy to liven up her party…the whole single thing just wasn't working now. Kripa sat down for and drink when Shazad came from behind a scared her. "Hey buddy", she said or more like screamed out. "Listen, I'm sorry about this morning". Kripa laughed and hugged Shazad. He really was her best friend.

It was around 1:30 in the morning, and the night was still young. Angad left his friend after a little drinking and having fun. He was leaving the bar, and saw Vedika standing there waiting for him. He smiled and walked up to her, kissing her very passionately. "I thought you didn't want to come…that you didn't want to take the train at 2 in the morning", he said. "Well, I guess I wanted to be with you more", she said kissing him again. " I love you so much Vedika", Angad said returning the kiss. " I love you too", she replied. They were walking to the local club together when Angad asked, " You have any regrets? About us I mean…now that you know everything". Vedika let out a sigh and looked at Angad. " I'm not going to stay I'm proud of it or you. And I do feel that I let it go too fast to easily. But…Angad, your all I have and your all I want. I don't care about New York, and want to forget everything and start again. To do that, I had to forgive you, and I did…because I love you a lot Angad. I mean…I most likely wont be able to forgive you again if you repeat something like this but…I did this time. And I'm happy I did".

"I love you Vedika, and I promise I'll never hurt you ever again. I promise on my life", he said holding her. "Angad, I think its time to move on. I…we need to let go of the past or else it'll keep haunting us", Vedika said. "All I can think about now is to never let you go", whispered Angad.

Meem and Hussein entered the club. The loud noise almost blew Meem's ear drums. Shazad saw Meem and Hussein and Hussein and Meem was Shazad. " You okay", Hussein asked. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be", Meem asked. Hussein took Meem to the dance floor while explaining, "Well…just you and Shazad in the same place". "What's done is done Hussein. I cant be scared of Shazad my whole life…I moved on, and I think he did too". Hussein looked at Shazad and Kripa and asked, "IS Kripa and Shazad dating?" Meem looked at them too, "I don't know. Whatever lets dance". Hussein pulled Meem to her and kissed her as the dance to I Wanna Love You.

Shazad watched Meem and Hussein from a back. "What did we do to deserve all this", he asked Kripa who was pretty much wasted as of now. "We fell in love. And, somewhere along the way our lovers forgot to love us back", she said with a comforting touch on Shazad's back. Shazad smiled at her and looked back at Meem. "Well maybe its time we remind them", he said taking a sip from his drink. "No use, I think mines permanent amnesia and his stupid doctor Vedika isn't helping one bit", complained Kripa. Shazad was still staring and Meem when he said, "Well…I always wanted to be a doctor". Saying that he went to dance and so this Kripa. It was so much fun, Kripa even danced with a pole. Dance…its was Kripa's anti-drug. Well not really since Kripa also had her drug days in the past but then again, who didn't.

Angad and Vedika were watching more then half the kids from their class dancing the club. Even though it was a 21 club and they were only 19 and 20, who cared. Angad held Vedika to her and kissed her neck. "You know…I'm happy were away from New York", he said. "Oh yeah?", asked Vedika. "Yeah…see this is our world now. This is our herd, our people. New York is long gone. Its time to move on", Angad said hugging Vedika and taking her to the dance floor.

Kripa and Shazad were leaving the club when Kripa asked, "So you reminded your lover that she loves you yet"? Shazad laughed a spun around, "No but I'm working on it". Kripa stopped him and said, " Just forget it Shazad. Let the past go. Its time to move on".
