Deepest Desires

     The first day of school is always very crazy. But even they hadn't expected it to be this crazy. It was a typical morning…well not really considering there was to be a solar eclipse today. In just a very hours actually, but they only last a few minutes or so.
     This was Angad, Kripa, Meem and Shazad's senior year. Everyone got to school, and caught up with old friends and all that good stuff. Angad saw Kripa talking to one of her friends by the lockers. He went from behind her and whispered into her ear
A- Hey girlfriend
K- AHHH!
   Kripa screamed out loud. Everyone looked at Kripa for a second. Isn't it strange, when a whole room stares at you, it feels as if time has just stopped for a second or two, and then everything starts going again. It's funny, we always want everyone one to be looking at us, but when they all do we just want them to look away.
A- sorry
K- ….don't ever do that!
A- sure, whatever
K- Uff!
A- Okay, okay…sorry! What homeroom are you in?
K- 12-2
A- Oh damn
K- Why?
A- I'm in 12-1
K- Aw…that's too bad
A- Yeah…whatever, lets go walk around.
K- No, I have to met Shazad and talk to him about some stuff
A- Okay…I'll see you later.
They kissed fast as Kripa ran to see Shazad. Shazad was sitting in the bench, waiting for Kripa. Kripa had made him promise not make in decisions, about Meem and him before "consulting" her. Kripa can be like that sometimes, all philosophical, but it only lasts for a few minutes. Just like the solar eclipse.Kripa came and sat next to Shazad acting like something very depressing had just occurred. Shazad didn't find his situation depressing at all though.
K- So?
S- Kripa…it's not like I'm getting a divorce
K- I know, but still…it's sad
S- Your not her bu=iggest fan either
K- I agree she has a few issues to work out but
S- But nothing…okay?
K- Shazad think hard about this
S- I gave her a second chance…I gave it honestly.
K- I know
S- I'm not married to her, so there's no reason for me to be wasting my time with this relationship…I could be single and getting drunk with chicks in clubs right now!
K- Its school
S- Well, you know what I mean!
K- Fine…if your sure about this
S- Now that we're done talking about me…did you hear?
K- What?
S- "Guess who's back, back again"
K- Who?
     Just when Shazad was about to crack the news, the bell rang. Kripa got up and rushed to class without saying anything or hearing anything. Its very bad to be late the first day of class.
S- See, now imma get detention! DAMN!
Class had started. Teachers were re-introducing themselves, and kids were trying to pay attention, even though they really didn't care. As the day went by, around 12 o clock it was time for the solar eclipse. Just the very moment, Shazad who was sitting in the same bench looked up at the half darkened sun, from her class room, Meem looked up at it too. Angad whole class was on the roof looking at it, they all had some sort of eye protection, except Angad, he just looked right at it for a sec. Kripa was driving to KFC for lunch (which is a senior privilege, to be able to go work for lunch)…her window was open and she also stared right at the sun.
Next Day---
Shazad was walking to class when all of a sudden----
    " Due to the heavy rain class will end right now. Good bye kids, have a safe trip home."
S- huh?
If the announcment said that class is over, why were the kids still walking to their classes?
S- Did you hear the annoucement?
A- What annoucement?
S- The one about class being over, because of the heavy rain.
A- Rain? Dude, it's dry out.
   Shazad looked through the window, Angad was right. It was sunny.
A- You feeling okay?
S- Yeah…sorry
A- If you say so
   Angad went to class and saw Kripa. They kissed fast and Angad sat next to her
K- What's up?
A- Nothing, you?
K- Same stuff…do you kno who's back?
A- No, who
K- I don't know either, I wanted to ask you
A- Oh I don't know
   The teacher came in class and everyone quiet downed. Mrs. Kary-ann sat on her chair and looked at all of us woth hey nasty yellow eyes. Someone should introduce her to eye drops. She loked funny this lady, she had a boy cut, but it looked more like a ohawk gone all wrong. Some should give her a hair brush along with those eye drops. Angad started at her looking all bored. She start her lecture about wonderful literature was. Now, seeing that I'm a writer I know that, but Anagd just wanted the teacher to slap herself.
    And that's exactly that the teacher did the minute Angad thought of it.
      (NOTE- PARTS IN ITALIC ARE ANGADS THOUGHTS)
A What the hell?
   The entire class started laughing, while Mrs. Kary-Ann kept slapping herself.
A- No, stop!
   Mrs. Kary Ann really did stop. While the teacher was looking shocked and confused, and students were all laughing their heads off. Except Angad of course, he had the strangest expression of his face.
K- Angad? You okay?
A- Yeah…just a little freaked out
K- Yeah I know…Mrs. Kary is crazy.
A- Yeah….crazy
   The teacher told everyone to quiet down, and begin their assigned work. Everyone eventually did start woeking, excpet Angad who just couldn't figure it out.
A- Hello? Could she hear me? Mrs. Kary Ann? Look at me damn it!
    The teacher automatically looked at Angad. Mrs. Kary-ann didn't even know why she was looking at Angad, she just was.
A- Yes?
MK- Nothing…go back to your work
A- That what I was doing
KM- OKAY THEN!
K- what happened
A- I dunno
Angad was on the verge of crying, he was really freaked, at the same time, it was kinda cool. Being able to make the teacher do anything he wants. But was it only the teacher.
A- Kripa? Hello, Kripa?……Kirpa kiss me!
Kripa jumped put of her seat and kissed Angad. Angad kissed her back, and Kripa sat back on her seat. Everyone was laughing, Kripa was just shocked and the teacher was angry.
KM- Ms. Sharma, leave the class room
K- but…
KM- I said leave
A - Tell Kripa to sit back down and say sorry for being rude!
KM- Kripa, sit back down, and I'm sorry for being rude
K (confused)- it's okay?
   Everyone laughed, and Angad smiled…oh yeah, he could definatly get used to this.
     The bell rang and everyone ran to their next class.Meem was running late for her class. She had to go from forensic science to calculus which was in another buidling. Meem was running the class thinking about how she wished she was in fron of the math classroom…next thing you know she's satnding right in front of the math room.
M- Oh my God!
   Meem looked around to see if anyone saw her do whatever it was that she just did. It seemed as though no one noticed…
Jack- Move it or lose it Meem!
M- What?
Jack- Would you go in the room already, your holdin' up the line back here!
M- Oh sorry!
   What just happened? Meem just warped from one building to another! She tried to not think about it and concentrated on the work. After math Meem went to the bathroom and put water on her face.She tried to explain to herself what just happened, while dong so she realized she only had 5 secs to get to her next class
M- Crap!
   Meem thought hard, she thought about getting to her English class. Once again, she was right in front of the English room…she stood there in shock again.
J- Are you doing this on purpose?
M- What?
J- Go in!!!!!!!!
M- Oh…sorry.
   It was lunch time, Kripa was sitting waiting for Angad. While eating her food, she saw a stack of apples. She now really wanted an apple, but was to lazy to walk up and get it. She kept staring at the apple for a minute, and slowly the apple started to float up. Kripa jumped out of her seat and the apple quickly fell back down. Kripa looked around to se if anyone noticed, but they were all busy doing their own thing. Kriap tried agai…she concentrated on the apple, and it work it floating again.
A- Hi!
Kripa jumped, and the apple fell on the floor.
K- Oh hi
A- Whats wrong
K- Nothing..just tried
A- Oh
   They were eating their lunch when Mrs. Kary-Ann was walking, she triped on the apple on the floor and her pudding fell all over her clothes.
A- Okay that wasn't me
K- What?
A- If I tell you something will you think I'm crazy
K- Not anymore
A- Whatever…so this morning, I was making the teacher act crazy
K- WHAT!
A- SHHHHHH
K- sorry, what do you mean?
A- Like, I was thinking about her slapping herself and next thing I know, she really was.
K- And….what about
A- yeah, I made you kiss me too
Kripa hit Anagd on his shoulder
K- Loser
A- Hey, I know you wanted to anyway…I just gave to the will power
K- Angad…I have a crazy X-men power too
A- What? You too?
K- Yeah look
   Kripa showed Angad the apples, and the made one float
A- Oh that's so cool
K- I know!!
     Just then it started to rain heavily.
K- Oh great..traffic
A- Shazad….
K- Huh?
A- Nothing
    Everyone went about with their classes when an annoucement was made "    " Due to the heavy rain class will end right now. Good bye kids, have a safe trip home." Everyone jumped out of their seats and ran out to leave the school.
S- Day Ja Vu?
Eventually that day Shazad figured out his powers aswell. He could tell the future! Now wasn't that dandy? Meem was in her room doing her homework when she got a call from Shazad.
S- Hey, can you meet me in the park today?
M- I'm not sure why
S- We need to talk about something
M- Okay…I'lll try
Meem hung up. Shazad was planning on breaking up with Meem, things just weren't working out. Meem was in her room thinking.
M- I wonder
   Meme thought about going to the psrk, and poof…there she was, in the park
S- That was fast
M- Didn't you see
S- What?
M- I poofed here
S- Huh?
M- I was in my room, and I thought about coming to the park, and poof…I'm in the park
S- You have magical powers too?
M- What do you mean "too"?
S- So do I, I can see the fuure
M- What.that's crazy
S- So says the girl who "poofed" here.
M- Yeah but…
S- Anyway I need to talk to you about something
M- Okay what
Just was Shazad was about to start talking about the break up he had a vision…."Meem, Meem where are you".
S- Meem!
M- What?
S- Your mom is coming in your room, poof back
M- What really?
S- YES
Meem went back in her room and sat on her bed, just then her mother opened the door.
M- Ji mama?
Mrs.Ahmed- Nothing beta, come down for dinner
M- Okay
Meem's mom left the room, and Meem let out a deep breath. Shazad was standing in the basketball court when it started to rain again. He got all wet.
S- Future seeing powers? Hello?
           It was 11:58 pm. Meem was in her bed ready to fall asleep. She was thinking about her amazing day…suddenly she thought of something. What is the one thing she really wants? All day she had this special power that anyone would die for…but was it what she wanted? What was her deepest desire? At the stroke of 2 Meem saw two figures…shadows they were. Two people holding a baby. She couldn't recognize the adults, but she knew who the baby was…it was her when she was a baby, and the two who figures…they were her real parents. One of them was gone, but what about the other one? What about Meem's father?
     Shazad was also in bed. Today he was so close to breaking up with Meem, but couldn't? He re-thought everything…didn he really want to break up with Meem? Yes, he did…he cared for Meem, but it just didn't seem like she cared for him. He knew this was the right thing to do…then at the stroke of 12, he too saw something. But he recognized it right away, he saw Meem laughing…he saw Meem happy. If all he really wanted was to see Meem happy, why did he want to not be with her anymore?
     Kripa was on the comuter. She was chatting with Angad. Anagd said the cutest, and funniest things. She was really happy with him. Hapier then ever. Her paretn always got her so depressed, but when she was with Angad, she'd forget everything. At the stroke of 12 Kripa suddenly saw herself..well an older form of herself. She was holding a little baby in her arms, and from behind came Angad. He put his arms around older Kripa and a baby and kissed them both. Kriap saw a family…the family she wanted now and forever. Was she in love with Angad?
     Anagd saw sitting onm the couch chatting through his laptop. Kripa amused him so much, she was adorable. At the stroke of 12, Anagd literally imagined someone walkng through the door. She came looked at Angad with her deep loving eyes. Eyes that told Angad that she'd always be there for him, always love him. Her lips spoke the words he'd been waiting to hear…
V- "I love you Angad"
     Angad saw Vedika…was Vedika Angad deepest desire? Was Vedika the one Anagd truly loved?
   It was 12:01am and the figures in Meem's room disappeared, happy Meem was gone, Kripa's family had vanished, and Angad's Vedika left aswell…along with all this, their powers left them too.
A little later Angad heard a knock on the door, he opend it and saw it was Kripa.
K- Sorry, it's a little late I guess
A-…..
Kripa invited herself in and and sat on the couch and told Anagd everything she saw, but Angad wasn't listening. He couldn't hear anything…he was just staring at Kripa, scared, confused, shocked, and sorry.
     Kripa soon left, and Angad went to bed. He laid on his bed wondering…thinking…hoping.
"He has sought and not found her"
Awake, he thought of her,
Asleep, he dreamed of her,
Dreamed and tossed in his sleep."
