Part-17- No more secrets….

It was a windy morning. Cold, snowy, and dark. Perfect day for the way our characters were feeling. Today was the day Raj was leaving. To Virginia. Everone came to say bye, Angad, Kripa, Vedika, Meem and Shazad.
R- Okay guys. I'll see you all soon
S- Yeah right
R- Dude
S- Yeah, yeah, I know whats gonna happen, your gonna go there and forget about basketball and start playing stupid base ball. Just remember that you hate baseball.
R- Dude, Im never gonna play baseball. You don't have to worry and that.
S- Whatever
    They hugged
R- Take care of yourself okay?
S- You too bro.
Raj went to Angad and hugged him
R- Hey I need a favor from you
A- Sure
R- Take care of Kripa
A- (laughing) I will.
R- Bye
A- Bye
     Angad started at Raj. Knowning that maybe he's never see Raj again. Raj might come back, but chances are Angad wont be here then.
   Raj hugged Vedika and Meem.
R- Bye guys
V- Take care
M- Yeah, be good
R- I will
Then slowly everyone left. So they could give Kripa and Raj some alone time.
R- I guess I'll be going then
K- That's why your packed, right?
R- Yeah…
K- Um…I'll call you
R- Don't!
K- What?
R- Don't call me, if you call me, then I'll want to come back.
K- Ok then…I wont call you
R- I'll miss you Kripa. A lot
K- Me too
     Kripa's eye's were getting very watery now. She was on the verge of crying.
R- Don't cry
K- Im wont
      She said wiping he tears.
R- I love you Kripa
K- I love you too
    They hugged, and shared one last kiss. Then Raj got in his car and left. Kripa stood there watching the car, until it went so far that she could not longer see it. Shazad came and put his arm around her.
S- Yeh Dosti Hum Nehi Thorenge, Thorenge Dum Magar, Tera Saath Na Chorenge!
   Kripa laughed and cried and the same time.
Later on Shazad met up with Meem, to talk to her.
S- Meem Im really sorry about what happened
M- Its ok Shazad,I think I overreacted too
S- Well, then we are okay?
M- What do you mean
S- Like, were still together right
M- Shazad…Um. I have no problems with you. But, I don't want to be wit you. I don't want to be with anyone right now.
S- But…
M- No, not now. I have stuff to do at home.
S-…
M- Bye Shazad.
   Meem left. The next day was school. Kripa and Angad were sitting on the bench. They were sitting there for a while. Not talking, just sitting.
K- So, hows Vedika?
A- I don't know…I didn't talk to her for like 3 months.
K- Oh
A- You and Raj…
K- Nah…
A- Our loves lives suck
K- Yeah…
    The bell rang so they all went to class.
In Ms. Nisa's classroom. This semester, Vedika and Angad had Calculus together. Which really wasn't all that good. But, it gave Angad a chance to talk to Vedika once in a while. Honestly speaking, Angad really missed Vedika. A lot! But he didn't love her…he couldn't love her. But now, the news Angad was just about to receive, might just change everything…for the good or worse.
N- Vedika?
V- Yes?
N- So you handed in the paper accepting the College's offer right?
V- Yes, I gave it in yesterday.
N- That's great. So this mean the this summer you'll move o Boston.
V- Yeah…
N- Kids you should all learn from Vedika. She has been accepted by Boston University to start taking partial classes there.
   Angad almost fell from his seat. Vedika was leaving? Was she leaving because of him? Angad didn't want her to leave!
After class Anagd went to Vedika to ask her why she was going.
A- Vedika if its because of me, then
V- Angad. I love you, but your not that important that Im going to leave my school, my City for you. Im not running away…I'm a big girl Angad, I can handle the fact the you don't love me.
A- Vedika…don't leave
V- Angad this is a once in a life time opportunity, I'm not going to give it up.
A- I cant….I really don't want you to leave.
V- Why?
A-I don't know
V- Say you love me Angad. All you have to do is say it once and I'll forget everything. Can you?
A- You love me?
V- Yes
A- Then trust me, you really don't want to love me.
V- Angad…either way im going
A-…..You sure it has nothing to do with me?
V- Well…maybe just a little bit. Its kinda hard to be in this school it you in it.
A- Don't go
V- It shouldn't make I difference to you Angad
A-…….
V- And anyway, since were talking anyway, I think you should know that I'm not leaving to the summer, I leaving this weekend. I already got accepted to Lexington High in Boston.
   Angad mouth fell open when Vedika said that. Then she just left.
In the hospital-
Urvashi had just finished her last operation for the day. No more appointments, no more work. She wanted to give Das a surprise at his work.
Back in School.
N- Das I need to
D- Nisa…Im busy
N- Ok but…
D- Woman Im busy!
N- Your watching the Mets game!
D- That is a lot more important then your silly questions
N- You'll never change
D- How can I, this is the Das you fell in love with right.
N- No, I don't even know where the Das is anymore
D- Really?
   Das went up to Nisa. Held her close to him
D-You keep saying that the reason why we got divorced was because I changed. How did I change Nisa. How was the Das Malhotra you fell in "love" with?
N- I don't know. Let go of me!
D- Was it me who changed or you Nisa?
N- Das…
D- I loved you so much, and what did you do?
N- I don't ant to talk about this
D- But I do
    As all this was happening, Urvashi as just standing at the door, watching the drama. She didn't cry, she wasn't in shock. Somewhere inside she knew this was the truth. Das still loved Nisa.
   It was Friday. Anagd and kripa were talking. Angad told Kripa about Vedika leaving, and ever since Kripa has been trying to convince Anagd to tell her he loves her.
K- Angad, I know you love her.
A- No I don't
K- Yes you do Angad. God damn just admit it. Don't let her go, take it from someone who's been there, its hurts a lot when they leave.
A-…..Im leaving
K- Angad
A- Kripa, there's a lot of thing you don't know about me. I fyou knew, you'd be thanking me for not loving Vedika.
K- Whatever, I had enough of your crap. Her train is tomorrow morning.
    At Angad house. Urvashi was sitting in her table doing her work, when she got a call from Shazad. Shazad told he everything going on between Anagd and Vedika. Urvashi understood right away what the problem was.
S- Please knock some sense in him
U- Thank you Shazad. You're a true friend
S- bye
   Angad came home. Urvashi confronted him, they went into a very long fight. But it had nothing to do with Vedika, it went far beyond that.
A- Bua, you know everything.
U- Yes, I know it all a lot better then you do!
A- No ok, I know it better then you. Because I'm the one going through it, not you!
U- You say it yourself right, that your just like everyone else. That your not different! Well your not Angad, your just like everyone else! You have every right every that human does. You have the right to love just as much as the next person
A- What if I don't love her huh? What if I don't want to love her?
U- You and I both know that's not true.
A- I'm going to bed!
U- ……..
   Angad went to bed. That night he couldn't sleep at all. Every memory of Vedika kept coming to him.
V- Oh Angad, I love you…
    Angad jumped out of bed and looked at the time. It was 6:30am. Vedika's train left at 7. Angad got out of bed, got dresses and ran to the station to stop her. Angad really did love vedika…and he wouldn't let her go. He reached the station at 6:45. Rnning through the huge statin he kept looking for the train Vedika would be in. Vedika broaded the train. She and hermom sat. She started crying, thinking about Angad and how much she truly did love him. Her mother thought it as because she would miss New York, but it wasn't the real reason.
Anagd was running until the finally found the train. Just as he was going to the entrance the train started moving. He ran after it, it was like a race, and surprisingly Anagd was winning. Just was he was about to go to the window Vedika was behind, he didn't. The train left. Everything kind of stopped. Angad stopped….no it wasn't Angad who stopped, something stopped Angad. Something that's been stopping Angad from telling Vedika how much he loved her. Angad was on the floor…it wasn't he who stopped…it was his heart.
   It was a white room. Machines were beeping, and their was a strange smell. Slowly he opened his red, teary eyes. Angad was in the hospital, with three different kinds of machine attached to him. The first person he saw was his Bua. She had tear in her eyes. The minute she saw Angad open his eye, she wiped her tears.
A- Bua…
U- Don't you worry Angad. Your fine
A- Bua….
U- No, your fine. You know how this works, until we find a donor your heart might give out like this…but its…we'll
A- Bua…
U-(crying)- Stay quiet…I know you don't care about dying or living, but your life mean a lot to me! I have saved 1000's of lives, there is no way I wont be able to save my own nephew!
A- Bua…
U- WHAT!
A (crying) - I wanna live now
U (crying)- I know baacha, I know. And you will. We contacted a donor, everything will be ok soon.
A (crying)- They'll l take my heart away
U- No…they can never take your heart away…a lover heart never beat in their chest, it beats in the chest of his beloved.
Saying that Urvashi left. Angad was there, alone. Quiet. Angad has a heart issue. His heart couldn't beat as fast as other hearts. Which meant, he got less oxygen and blood. That's why, even though he was a great basketball player, he never joined the team, Never played in the park, never did anything other kids could. He found out about this illness last summer. That was Anagd's secret…his past, his present, and maybe his future…

In the stormy night, she was sleeping. Suddenly she woke up, and put her hand on her heart. It was beating very fast. Yet she hadn't seen a dram or anything. Why was her heart beating so fast? As the lighting struck you saw her face. Kripa…
