Chapter 39

Roli flickered her eyelids as the early morning sun rays fell on her face. Opening her eyes lazily, she tried to get up. However, she couldn't as she felt a tight grip around her waist. 

Furrowing her eyebrows, she tilted her head backwards a little. The frown on her forehead slowly disappeared as her eyes recognized the person sleeping beside her, hugging her from back. 

Roli's attention then turned at her surroundings. She was surprised to find herself in her room and in her bed. She then again turned to sid and found him in deep sleep. 

Sid's face shone as the sun rays entered the room through windows and fell directly on his face. Roli admired his face for a couple of seconds before her mind recalled the moments from previous night in the car. 

Roli's cheeks turned red in an instant as she recalled those intimate moments they shared. With a blush, she gently held his hand that was wrapped around her to take it off. But, as she tried to do so, Sid was disturbed by the movement. 

"What do you want now?" Sid was annoyed at the disturbance and frowned without opening his eyes. 

"I'm gonna get up. Take off your hand" roli said as she laid down beside him. 

Sid took his hand off of her and turned against her to continue his sleep. 

Roli sat up on bed and looked at sid as though she remembered something. 

"Listen.." roli slowly shook his body to wake him up. 

"Hmm.." sid only hummed in response still not opened his eyes. 

"How did we returned home last night?" Asked roli. That was first question that raised in her mind after finding herself back in her room. 

"I called driver after the rain slowed down" sid answered in a sleepy tone. 

"Then why I didn't remember anything?" This time roli shook him even more as she was curious to know something mysterious. 

Annoyed as hell, sid finally opened his eyes and turned his head to look at her as he replied amongst gritting his teeth in annoyance due to her continuous disturbance "coz you were sleeping like a pig and I had to carry you into your room. And now let me sleep". 

Sid almost yelled and fell back to the bed, digging his face in the pillow and continued to sleep. 

Roli silently gazed at him as she finally understood what happened last night. She fell asleep in his arms in the car for a good amount of time. After sometime she felt like someone calling her but, she didn't wake up. Then she felt like someone carrying her in arms. Though not fully awaken, with half opened eyes, she saw Sid's face and realized she was in his arms. When she placed her in bed, she held on to his hand tightly as she was unwilling to let him go. And she mumbled something in her sleep before cuddling in to his arms and sleeping peacefully. 

All this time, she was thinking that it was a dream and she didn't open her eyes as she didn't want to miss spending time with sid even in her dreams. 

But, when she realized that it wasn't a dream but reality, she felt like hitting her head for troubling him in the middle of the night. 

Roli glanced at sid and found him asleep. She didn't make any more noise to disturb him. Thus, she silently got down from bed, got freshen up herself and left the room silently. 

It was sunday. They didn't have to go to college. So, roli didn't wake sid up and let him to sleep for some more time. 

After a few minutes of roli leaving her room, sujata entered as she thought to talk to roli about ritika's health. She first went to Sid's room but didn't find him there. So, she came to ask roli. 

But, when sujata entered roli's room, she was surprised to see sid sleeping in the bed. She looked around but didn't find roli in room. With a smile, she walked out of the room silently. 

Roli was near dining table when sujata reached there. 

"Roli, when did you both returned last night?" Asked sujata as she she reached her. 

"It got late, maa. So, thought not to disturb you in the middle of the night" roli found an excuse as she too was unaware of when they returned home last night. 

"Oh... Then how's ritika?" Sujata inquired. 

"She's fine, maa. Might be discharging from hospital soon" answered roli. 

"That's good" sujata said with relief. 

"I'll go give this milk to mataji" roli said after she was done pouring the milk in to a glass. 

"Roli.." sujata suddenly called out as she remembered something. 

Stopping on her track, roli turned to sujata, waiting for her to continue. 

"I know you both are adults but, just a reminder to be careful while doing anything.. you know.." sujata didn't know how to say but, said indirectly. 

Roli looked at her with an innocently confused look as she didn't quite understand what she meant. 

"Roli beta, have you prepared it?" Mataji interrupted before roli could clarify herself about what sujata had told. 

"Haan, mataji. Here" roli quickly turned to mataji and forwarded the milk glass to her.  

"Roli, go wake sid up. It's getting late to have breakfast" sujata said as roli nodded obediently and went to her room. 

When roli left the place, sujata moved near mataji and said in a low voice "mataji, I think now we shouldn't delay our kid's marriage anymore". 

"Why do you think that suddenly?" Mataji was taken aback at sujata's sudden advice. 

Then sujata whispered in her ears that she found sid sleeping in roli's room. Mataji looked stunned for a moment before speaking with a smile "kids these days". 

"Well then, I'll ask jamanlal to come over here" after thinking for a while, mataji said. 

Upstairs in roli's room. By the time she entered the room, sid was already woken up and sat up in the bed. 

"Maa is calling you for breakfast. Get ready soon and come down" roli said as she pulled the quilt to fold. 

"And.. yesterday night.. did I say something?" Roli asked as she remembered mumbling something when sid placed her in bed last night but, she couldn't exactly figure her words out. 

Sid glanced at her, stopping rubbing his eyes. "yeah. You said a lot actually" he replied with a deep thinking. 

"What did I say?" Roli kept the quilt aside and looked at him curiously. 

Sid watched her curiosity as his thoughts went back to the last night.

Sid gently placed roli in her bed and covered her with quilt. When he was about to take his hand off of her, roli quickly held it tightly in her hand. 

"Don't leave... Please" roli mumbled in her sleep. 

Sid's heart softened at the sight of her innocent face. He sat next to her as he held her hand in-between his palms. 

"I won't" he said in a low voice, without disturbing her sleep. 

"You know how scared I was when I saw ritika today. I thought I'd lose you" roli continued with a pout as a tear slided down from the corner of her eyes. 

"What a cry baby you are, roli" sid was amused to see her crying in her sleep too. 

It actually showed how much she was scared of losing him. And he too understood that fact better than anyone. He then slowly wiped her tears with his thumb. 

As she felt his touch on her face, she hugged his hand and asked "you won't leave me for any reason, right?". 

Sid smiled at the cute face she had made in her sleep. He caressed her hairs with his left hand as she continued to hug his right one. 

"I would never leave you even if you want to, okay" sid whispered in a husky voice as his fingers played in her hairs. 

"Promise?" Roli left hugging his hand and showed her pinkie finger at him. 

Sid chuckled as he felt pinky promise as a childish gesture. But, for her happiness, he held her pinkie finger with his and promised "pakka promise". 

Roli's lips finally curved in to a smile as she cuddled in to his arms. Sid pressed his lips against her forehead as he embraced her in his arms before drifting in to sleep.

Sid's eyes sparkled as he recalled her cute talks. 

"Tell na" roli urged him. 

"I'm never gonna tell you that" sid smirked to tease her. 

"What are you going to do by hiding it?" Roli was agitated. 

"What are you going to do by knowing it?" Sid thrown a reverse question at her. 

"I..." Roli couldn't find any answer. 

Sid's smile grew wider as he enjoyed teasing her and throwing her to a corner where she couldn't rebutt against him. 

"If you find any answer, come to me then I'll tell you" sid said before turning around and leaving the room. 

"Kadoos" roli complained with a pout.
