Part 29:

At the Clinic:

Angad was waiting at the doctor's desk while the doctor checked Kripa.  After a few minutes, the doctor came out followed by Kripa.

Doctor: Everything is normal.  No complications so far.  Its a really good progress...Mrs.Khanna....seems like your husband takes very good care of you..

Kripa: he sure does ma'm.

Angad(smiled proudly): When is the next appointment doctor?

Doctor: exactly one month from now.  I will give you a reminder call...

Angad and Kripa thanked the doctor and left.

Kripa was pampered like a princess in the house by everyone.  She had everyone's attention all at once.  Everyone took care of her.  Angad would take her on evening walks everyday.  Naina invited Dhruv and Anjali to stay over for a few months because Anjali needed the same attention and care.  Anjali and Dhruv's parents had passed away long before their wedding.  Anjali was a month ahead of Kripa.  When Dhruv hesitated to accept the offer, Naina gave him an "order".  Dhruv followed naina's order and moved into khanna house until Anjali delivered the baby.  Kripa and Anjali helped each other out as they understood how difficult it was.  Naina ordered everyone to take special care of both of them because they were becoming mothers at a very young age.

TWO MONTHS LATER on Angad's birthday:

Kripa was well into her fifth month of pregnancy while Anjali was in her sixth.  Kripa decided not to return to university right now.  She decided on doing a medical course later on as right now she needed to take care of her and the baby.  Angad had been so busy taking care of Kripa, and attending university, he had forgotten his own birthday.  No one reminded him because they all had a surprise planned for him.  In the evening, Angad went to get some multi-vitamins recommended by doctors for Kripa.  On his way back home, his cell rang.

Angad: hi mom..

Naina(sounding worried): Angad..kahan ho tum??  jitni jaldi ho sake tum beach house par aa jao...hum sab kripa aur Anjali ko lekar yahan par aaye the....achanak Kripa ki tabiyat kharab ho gayi hai beta.....jaldi aa jao...

Angad: Im coming mom!

Angad quickly turned his car and drove to his beach house as fast as he could while many horrible thoughts passed through his mind.  He didnt even care about parking his car once he reached.  He ran into the house and found it dark and quiet.  Suddenly, all the lights came on exposing eveyone in the room and the decorations as well.  everyone yelled "Surprise".  Angad looked surprised alright, but he was still worried.

Angad: Kripa kahan hai?

kripa: Right behind you.

Angad turned around and looked at her in a shock.  She was perfectly alright.  Angad felt relieved as he hugged her tightly.  Naina rushed up to him.

Naina: Angad...ahista...be careful...dont hug her that tight!!!

Angad: mom...ye kya mazak hai....aapne kaha tha ki Kripa ki tabiyat...

Naina: Im sorry beta....tumhe yahan bulane ka aur koi idea nahi aya mujhe....Kripa ne mujhse kaha bhi tha ki tum pareshaan ho jaoge...lekin meine uski baat nahi suni...im sorry...

Angad: its ok mom....but please...agli baar Kripa ko lekar mere saath aisa mazak kabhi mat kariyega..

Kripa(distracting Angad to lighten his mood): Angad...Happy Birthday.

Angad: oh...I didn't even remember my birthday....

Kripa: I know...but its ok...we have everything planned...look.

Angad turned aound and saw Dilip, Devyani, Dhruv, Anjali, Aliyah,and Josh standing with his birthday cake ready.  Kripa linked her arm with his and walked him to the table.  He cut the cake and fed everyone a little bit.  Everyone settled in their seats and started chit chatting until Aliyah got bored.

Aliyah: you guys are so boring.....how about some music.

Aliyah put on some dance music and dragged everyone to the middle of the room excluding Kripa and Anjali.  Anjali drifted off to sleep soon while Kripa sat there looking at everyone having fun as she caressed her slightly bulged tummy.  After a few more hours of fun, everyone went back to Khanna House.

By the time Angad came into the bedroom, Kripa had already changed and was standing out in the balcony.  he silently walked up right behind her and kept both of his hands on either side of her resting his chin on her shoulder.

Angad: thank you for the wonderful evening

Kripa: everyone helped me plan it though...

Angad: but i need to thank you the most because mom told me it was your idea...

Kripa: well...i dont think you should thank me because what I did is nothing compared to how much you do for me...

Angad: dont start with that now....(Angad slowly placed his hands on her bulge)...so how is my baby doing today?

Kripa: the baby is asking if papa remembers that mamma's first scanning is tomorrow.

Angad: well...you can tell my baby that papa can forget his birthday but he can't forget mamma's scanning because he...

He paused after realizing what he was about to say.  he was going to say "he can't forget mamma's scanning because he loves her".  But there was still something, some unknown barrier, that stopped him from confessing his feelings every time he tried to.  It was probably the fear that she might not have feelings as strong as his.  Kripa knew what he wanted to say.  Oh how she wished he would say it to her just once, because then he would realize that in their relationship, its not one sided love.  She loved him as much if not more.

NEXT DAY AT THE CLINIC DURING SCANNING:

Kripa and Angad both looked onto the screen looking at a unclear image of their little one.  Both had the million bucks smile on their faces.  Kripa dropped a few tears of joy.

Angad: o come on Kripa..why are you crying??

Doctor: you men won't uderstand...this is a women's thing right Mrs.Khanna.....

Kripa nodded sweetly and smiled at Angad.  After the scanning, the doctor had a little talk with them regarding the do's and dont's during pregnancy.

Doctor: oh By the way...you want to know whether its a boy or a girl?

Kripa & Angad: NO!!!!

Doctor: Thats weird....most of the time...thats the first thing parents want to know!

Kripa: Actually....we wanna keep it a surprise...

Angad: if we find out right now...it sort of kills all the excitement.

They had a few more discussions and then finally Angad-Kripa left.

NEXT DAY(Kripa's Birthday):

Kripa was still in deep sleep while she hugged Angad just like a 5 year old hugs her teddy bear.  Angad wasn't asleep though.  It was already 8 in the morning and besides, he was too busy being lost in her thoughts.  He wanted to be the first one to wish her on her birthday.  At last, She slightly opened her eyes and stared right back into the set of chocolate brown eyes.

Kripa: good morning.

Angad: happy Birthday Kripa.

Kripa(opened eyes completely and smiled): Thank you.

Angad pulled out a white rose and handed it to her, followed by a pink one, followed by a yellow one, followed by an orange one, and then finally, he pulled out a red rose.  Kripa looked at him not knowing how to react or what to say.  Oh, he was so cute!

Kripa: tumhe kaise pata ki ye mere favourite flowers hai?

Angad: lucky guess?

Kripa: hmm.....thanks...very sweet of you.  You are a sweetheart.

Angad: I know I am....

Kripa giggled, pecked his cheek and got up to get ready.  She kept all the roses neatly in the vase on her side table.

At breakfast table, everyone wished Kripa a happy birthday while Naina announced that they were holding a small party for her tonight where they invited only close relatives as she didn't want Kripa to get stressed in the crowd.

The party was ofcourse live even if there were not that many people invited.  Aliyah, Aadat se majboor, put on some loud dance music and made everyone dance until Angad got annoyed of the loudness and switched the music to some slow songs.  Aliyah whined at first but then felt delighted when Josh asked her for a slow dance.  Soon, every couple present in the party, including angad-Kripa, were on the dance floor, swaying to the slow dance beats along with their partner.  angad and kripa had a long eye locking session for the first song.  The song switched and some people changed their dance partners but Angad-Kripa didn't move even a centimeter away from each other.  They didn't realize when they had come so close, physically, that their heads rested against each other's.  Both closed their eyes, trying to absorb the perfect moment and carving it onto their hearts so it lasts forever.  Naina and Dilip noticed their son and daughter-in-law.  They felt extremely delighted.

Naina: Dilip.....ab jaa kar mein apne aap ko maaf kar sakti hoon....mein jaanti thi ki Angad ko forcefully shaadi karne ke liye majboor karna theek nahi tha...lekin is waqt un dono ko aise dekh kar mujhe nahi lagta ki meine koi galat kadam uthaya tha...

Dilip: nahi naina...tumne koi galat kadam nahi uthaya tha.....jodiyan banane waale hum kaun hote hai?  Jodiyan to woh uparwaala banata hai...Angad aur Kripa ki jodi bhi usine banayi thi...bas un dono ko ek rishte mein baandhna kaam shayad bhaghwaan ne hum par choda tha jo humne pura kar liya....mein bahut khush hoon ki angad ko kripa mili hai...kripa jaisi ladki usse kahin aur nahi milegi..

Naina: sach kaha tumne dilip....aaj agar gayatri aur suryaban bhai saab hote to in dono ko dekh kar kitna kush hote...

Dilip: dekh rahe hai naina.....surya aur bhabhi jahan bhi hai...woh angad aur kripa ko dekh rahe hai...aur unka aashirwaad bhi de rahe hai... love_iqbal_khan39480.6209837963
