Part 8:

Kripa pushed the bell and raised her palm in front of her face to check the address once again that she had written on it. Angad, dressed in sweat pants and t-shirt opened the door, grinning at her. He directed her in, in a formal manner. Kripa scanned Angad's flat in one go. It was indeed a luxurious apartment. Clean, well maintained and sophisticated. Kripa saw jerry sitting on the sofa with a wide chart spread in front of him on the table. Evidently they had started working. Jerry saw her and greeted her with a smile and words of appreciation "hey Kripa, from where did you architect like Angad, he is so good. And on the top of that his charges are low too. Intelligent woman, u are."

Kripa just smiled trying to skip the answer to the question. Kripa took a place beside Angad, peeping on the chart. "So Mrs. Khanna did u like it?" Angad asked like a true employee.

Kripa nodded "it's awesome."

"Ah…so now that I have permission from madam producer I guess I can proceed with the main stuff." Angad said dramatically leaning on the sofa sliding one hand on Kripa's waist who was sitting beside him, without letting jerry know about it.

Kripa glared at him which was replied by a smirk and a stroke on her waist by Angad. He kept stroking her waist line while talking to jerry.

"How about a coffee?" Angad asked his visitors.

"Sure thing." Jerry replied.

"One for me too." Kripa added hoping that it will make Angad get up, hence leaving her.

"Alright." He said and turned his face towards Kripa "the kitchen is right there sweetheart." He said pointing towards a door attached to the drawing room.

Jerry laughed lightly "god Angad, u r too much. You sure know how to get things done."

"Oh no jerry. I just wanted to make Mrs. Khanna feel at home. U know it looks odd that a man makes coffee inspite of a lady's presence." Angad said pretending to be innocent; it was followed by another giggle from jerry.

Kripa stomped her feet and got up to make coffee. She entered kitchen and once again, got impressed. The kitchen was spacious equipped with all modern electronic equipments, a magnificent chimney and once again, extremely clean. She mounted the container on stove and added the contents and realized for the first time that it was actually giving her a pleasure the feel of cooking something in ur husband's kitchen was a sort of different feeling. She came and leaned on the door of kitchen to talk away the time required for the coffee to heat up.

"U have a wonderful kitchen." She said to Angad, from the door itself.

"I have an even better bedroom. Wanna see it too." Angad winked at her.

Kripa felt color rushing to her cheeks and just bowed her head. While jerry laughed at Angad's flirty nature "Holy, u r so damn fast and shameless. Now I m sure u were not lying about the numerous girls u dated while ur stay in Chicago."

Kripa cocked her eyebrows on the mention of Angad's girlfriends and went in to bring the coffee. She brought three coffee cups and served them.

Angad sipped his coffee and exclaimed "What an amazing coffee, Mrs. Khanna!!! Just the way I like it. Looks like u know my taste pretty well."

Another teaser from Angad, and she was sooo going to kill him, Kripa thought in her mind gritting her teeth. Indeed she has made the coffee just the way Angad liked it, but it was more out of habit than noble gesture.

Jerry kept the coffee mug down and got up to leave. Angad saw him out and when returned he saw Kripa rearing to go as well.

"Time for me to leave as well." Kripa said picking up her car keys.

Angad caught her hands in mid air and said "why? Are u scared of being alone with me?" he smirked.

"No, but it getting late and time for me to say good bye." She said freeing her hands from his grip.

"Just accept Kripa, u r scared of me. Else half an hour won't really harm." Angad said pulling her back.

Kripa sighed "fine, half an hour."

Kripa collected the coffee mugs and inspite of Angad's protest, started washing them. Angad leaned beside her on the counter. She looked so perfect in his house. If only, she thought same as well, he sighed to himself.

They sat beside each other, to talk about nothing in particular.

"So…" Angad started off.

"So…" Kripa said uncertain of where conversation will lead. Angad had become so unpredictable. In one moment, he makes u feel that he still cares but the very next moment, he shatters all ur misconceptions showing u an altogether different face of his evil side.

"Hmmm…so anything new in last two years." Angad tried to make a conversation.

"If that includes learning basics of plumbing and cleaning garage, then yes." She smiled.

Angad gave a little laugh and said "now u must know what cleaning a dirty garage in scorching heat means."

"Yes I guess. Few lessons come pretty harshly." Kripa said trying to suppress her emotions "but I guess everything has its positive points, like now I an not scared of darkness." She said laughing sadly.

"Really, I thought that it was never going to happen." Angad smiled.

"When ones life itself is filled with darkness…how can one afford to be scared from it anymore." Kripa sighed.

Angad squeezed her hands moving closer "Kripa I…"

A phone call stopped him midway, cursing it he got up to receive it. After clicking down the receiver, when he turned to face her again, she had already left. And many things remained unspoken once again…
