wo months went by and nothing happened. Everything was usual but Naina was alert. Neelu & Shalini planned for a girls' night out on the weekend and Naina agreed to that without asking what the plan was or where they were going. She was looking forward to that since in the last two months she has hardly stepped out of the academy & she needed a break from her routine.

It was Saturday evening & she was getting ready. Someone knocked at the door.It was an order lee.

"Ma'am aapke liye yeh letter aaya hai"

She took that letter from him.The envelope marked the letter as private & confidential. She hurriedly opened the envelope & read the letter.

 

Captain Naina Singh Ahluwalia,

I am sorry to ruin your evening but I don't think I have much choices.I am afraid you'll have to cancel your outing plans today because something might just happen in the academy tonight which can endanger your mission.Not just me but someone else also knows about your identity and mission.I presume, you believe that duty comes first and therefore will not ignore this.Take this as a warning and brace yourself for more difficult days ahead. I'll suggest you not to waste your time thinking about who am I. Hope you have a wonderful evening.

Naina freaked out completely when she read the letter.She could not figure out what that letter meant.The letter wasn't even hand-written, it was typed. That anonymous so called well wisher made sure to leave no trails behind. But who was he & was he actually a well-wisher? Many questions cropped up in her mind.

"Is this some kind of joke or is someone trying to mislead me" Naina thought. "I need to find out and for that I'll need to stay back in the academy."

She had to cancel her plans but didn't know how to do that because she needed a really strong excuse for that or Shalini & Neelu would not let her stay back.

 

Half an hour later Neelu & Dr. Shalini entered in Naina's room.

"Naina…what is this yaar.Tu abhi tak tayyar nahin hui."Neelu asked Naina. Naina was looking upset.

"Dr. Shalini, Neelu…I m sorry but main aa nahin paaongi"

"Naina what do you mean by main aa nahin paaongi" Shalini asked

"I am just not up to it"

"Naina whats wrong with you….tum upset bhi lag rahi ho.Is everything alright"

"Ma'am woh actually Baba ka phone aaya tha…Maa ki tabiyat theek nahin hai.I am just worried about her"

"Kya hua unhe"

"Asthma attack…….It was severe.I wish I was with her."

"Ohh!! Is she alright now?"

"Haan abhi theek hain but…I am just not feeling like going anywhere.I am really sorry but both of you please carry on"

"Naina, its ok. I can understand that. It's not at all a problem. Hum phir kabhi plan kar lenge"

"Ya Naina…its absolutely alright. Waise bhi yeh plan hum teeno ka tha to tumhare bina jaane ka koi matlab hi nahin banta. But never mind that…..Dr. Shalini is right.We can plan it some other time."

  Dr. Shalini & Neelu stayed with her for some time and then left. Naina was feeling bad for the lie she has told them but at that point of time it was the only excuse she could think of. Besides she had other serious issues to think about than ponder over a harmless lie.

 

Naina didn't sleep for the whole night. She was taking rounds of KMA. She tried to look for anything unusual or out of place but could not find any such thing. Everything was normal. For the entire night she was checking each and every corner of KMA. She was waiting for something to happen but nothing happened. It was 600 hours when she returned to her room….disappointed and irritated. The letter was fake. Nothing happened and everything was under control. She was trying hard to understand why someone sent her that letter and who?? She realized she can't think about it anymore.It was getting on her nerves… She needed a break.She put on the TV and was just surfing the channels when suddenly the top story on a news channel caught her attention. She was quite shocked. 2 terrorists had died in a police encounter last night in the Ambala city. The incident took place outside a multiplex around 11:30 pm. She could not figure out what was happening.KMA was under threat, she knew it. Even her life was under threat that also she knew but Ambala???????????????...... She didn't know why Ambala was being targeted.

 

This incident and that anonymous letter made her extra cautious. She was more observant & noticed everything around her very minutely. She expected something else to happen in the days to come but she was rather surprised to see everything so normal. It has been more than a month now but things were as it is. But she knew something awaited her after this. But what….. she was clueless. She sat thinking about this in her room when an order lee came in to tell her that someone was waiting for her in the visitor's room.She had surprise visitors this weekend.
