Chapter 14
Part thirteen
Raj was gobbling down his food while Naina hardly touched it, there was a storm in her mind, to say or not to say…
To say she decided but then why was her resolve breaking, Raj noticed the various emotions passing over her face and shook her out of her trance…
"Naina, what's wrong with you? You seem pale"
"Raj there is something I need to tell you"
She said this with her head downcast
He sensed something At once…
"Whats wrong Naina?something at work"
"No, not work, something about us"
"Tell me"
She looked at him with pleading eyes and he was really scared now and so asked her again
"Naina tell me"
And he hugged her, to comfort her
"Ra… Raj… my blood reports came out yesterday"
"Its something about that isn't it, Naina are you alright, tell me"
"Raj I am pregnant"
Now this is nt what he had expected, he thought that she had been diagnosed with diabetes and that's why she was so scared
"WHAT????"
Naina just nodded in return
"Im so sorry Naina, I am really sorry, im the one who has put u through this trauma"
"No Raj its our fault, not yours alone"
"But, what can be done now?"
"I don't know, I went to the doc for a check up this morning to confirm after that I came straight home and was completely blank about it"
"I can understand"
There was a moment when none of them spoke and then raj continued
"So what do we do now?"
"I really don't know"
"Neither do I"
After a short pause Raj spoke up again
"Naina, do you want the kid"
"I don't know"
"What do you mean by you don't knw, we have to take a decision, sooner or later and its better if we settle the matter right here"
"Raj the doctor told me to think before I think about an abortion"
"See Naina it's the doctors duty to make you aware and not rush u into anything and that's why the doc musthv said it."
"Raj, I don't want to kill my child"
"Do you think I want to kill it, definitely not, its my flesh and blood"
"Raj, cant we keep the child?"
"Yes we can, if you want to I will marry you tomorrow and we can keep the kid"
"Really Raj"
"Yes, but do you think that will be practical"
Naina just looked downwards and Raj continued speaking
"3 weeks back we were ready to tear eachothers hair apart, had it not been for sonali we would have still been the same and would not have been on talking terms, do you think we are ready for parenthood?"
"WE could prepare ourselves"
"And do you think 9 months would be sufficient for that, Naina I know u don't want to kill your child neither do I, but we really don't have any choice"
"Raj, ill take complete responsibility"
"Naina, don't be a fool, its easier said than done, do you know how many responsibilities come with being a parent, you are just getting sentimental"
"Mind your language Raj, iam not getting senti, you are heartless, you can only think about your own happiness, cant see that a life is going"
"Wait a moment Naina, I am not the one being selfish, you are, do you think it is right to bring a child into this world when his parents are not sure about their own relationship, you are just being stupid"
Naina was really fuming now
"Raj I thought you'll understand me"
"You are right, even I thought ill understand you, but I certainly cant understand from where you got all these crazy ideas into your head"
"Raj, keeping your child alive is not a crazy idea, I am disgusted that you could even think that way"
"Then be disgusted Naina, there is nothing I can do to help you"
"How could I ever think that I could live with a man like you"
"You know what, I wonder the same, how could I have been so stupid to thnk that I could live with a women like you, the day we had our first fight under this roof I should have realized that you were impractical and stubborn and expecting anything intellectual from you was being stupid"
Now these words of Raj pierced Naina's heart and she did something that she did regret much let.
She walked up to him and slapped him across his face
"How dare you talk to me Mr.Rajveer shekhawat, if u are forgetting you were the one who told me to move in with you, and if you are so fed up with me then you are free to move out"
Raj was too shocked to react and so just said these last few words
"Thats exactly what I am going to do Ms. Naina Rathod, its all over"
And he walked out the door in a fit of anger, jus as he was about of take the lift he heard the sound of breaking china, naina had pulled the table cloth causing all the dishes to fall over the floor, that was her way of taking out her frustration…..
It took naina barely a night to decide that she wanted to leave him, leave the city and go, she wouldn't be able to see him and interact with him, she would always be reminded of of the mistake she had made.
Raj on the other hand drove out of the city and stayed in an hotel, he needed the break from her, and needed to think, he realized soon afterwards that he had said all of that to her in a fit of anger and had decided to go back and apologize but he had come back to an empty house and found a farewell note on the table, naina had left him…
Naina had packed all her necessary items and had sent them to delhi, she had an old school friend out there and had sent it to her address, she had gone the following moring and opened a separate bank account, freezed all her previous bank accounts so that there was no way anyone could find out where she was, sonali was out of the town and Naina was glad about that, Sonali didn't have a chance to convince her to stay back, she had left her money back to give all those people whose contract she would be breaking ,and they didn't have any choice because
She had returned their money with compensation, her boutique was closed and Sonali soon found a job elsewhere
Naina went to delhi and soon got a work permit from one of her friends in London, whom she had met in Mumbai while she was training to become a fashion designer, withn a month she had left Delhi and India with the idea of never coming back, as a sign of rebellion she had not aborted her kid, she got a girl within 7 months and named her Prachi, she looked remarkably like Raj, Naina always wished she could have had a family with Raj because that was the last and first man she had ever loved, but things were probably meant to be this way… she still remembered her note to raj
Raj,
By the time u get his letter I don't know where I will be, I don't even know what I am going to do, you told me to go and so I am going, our relationship always lacked something and I wonder what that was, so instead of trying to keep trying its better if we just break it, I don't know when u will read this, but I would like to tell you that I will never forget the time I have spent with you, I love you and will always love you, but I dnt know If you will always love me,take care and have a good life ahead, and a sincere request, never try to find me, if we are meant to meet then we will

Raj had this letter in his wallet to date, it was about 3 in the afternoon and he said to himself
"Naina this was meant to be, we were supposed to meet and this time I will not let you go, I will compensate for all the hard times I have given you"
