S - are you seriously going to give up on you and her?

A - what do you mean?

S - I always thought since you loved Kripa so much, you would fight anything and everything to make her yours, I'm surprised you've given up and let her go....

 

Angad stands there as Sujal leaves him to think about what he just said

 

3 weeks later. Sujal, Kashish, Kavya and Anjali have returned from their honeymoons. Everyone in the Khanna family has noticed Angad is back to normal, he's no longer moping around in his room, he goes out with Lakshya to party and have fun. Although he plasters a smile on his face, his family know how upset he actually is. On the other side the Sharma family have finished the preperations for the engagement which is only two days away. Prithvi comes to the Khanna House, Sujal opens the door

 

S - what do you want?

P - I've come to invite you to my engagement

Ka - and what makes you think we'll come?

P - you will come for Kripa won't you?

S - no, get lost now

A - bhaiya.....let him in

S - what?

 

Angad smiles and asks Prithvi to come in, he takes him to the living room

 

A - whens the engagement?

P - two days time

N - we're busy....

A - no we're not....we'll come

 

Everyone looks at Angad like he's lost his mind

 

A - where's the card?

P - here

 

Prithvi takes the card from his jacket and hands it to Angad, Angad looks at it

 

A - nice design, Prithvi Bose weds Kripa Sharma.....engagement takes place at The Imperial. Very nice, you go, we'll come

 

Prithvi looks at Angad weirdly then leaves, everyone else looks at Angad

 

An - have you gone mad? we're not going

A - yes we are bhabhi, in case you've forgotten Kripa is still a member of this family and we're all going to go participate in her happiness

L - but bhaiya she isn't happy

A - she will be, when she sees her family coming to her engagement, no excuses, we're all going. Lakshya we should go shopping, find some nice presents

 

Angad smiles and leaves the room

 

L - i'll go with him.....

S - if only we knew what was going on in his head

D - I guess he's accepted everything as fate

Ka - but dad....

D - Angad wants us all to go and we will.

 

Two days later, everyone is ready in the Khanna house to leave for the engagement

 

A - you guys go...i'm coming

S - do you want me to stay....

A - no bhaiya, you guys go, I need to wrap up Kripa and Prithvi's present. I'll be there don't worry

Ka - ok dude

 

The family leave Angad alone and head to the party. When they get there they see the hall decorated with lights and balloons, Surya and Gayatri see them

 

Su - who invited them....

P - I did uncle, thats not a problem is it?

Su - no....i suppose not

P - good, Kripa come lets say hello

 

Kripa gives a fake smile and follows him, she hugs Naina and Dilip

 

K - thanks for coming

N - we had to, congratulations

K - ..thanks....Sujal, Kavya

 

Kripa hugs them and their wives then lastly hugs Lakshya

 

L - you look nice

K - thanks....where's your brother?

L - he's coming

P - so come on, join us in the celebration

 

The Khanna family take their seats and watch as Surya makes the announcement for the engagement.  Prithvi comes to the stage

 

P - ok so before the engagement takes place, why not have some music? in fact, my wife to be will be singing a song for us all

K - what? mom what's he talking about?

G - come on Kripa, you can do this at least

K - fine whatever

P - Kripa come to the stage

 

Kripa walks to the stage and whispers in his ear

 

K - what are you playing at?

P - nothing love, now smile for the camera

 

Kripa plasters a smile on her face as the cameras start clicking away, she begins to think about what she should sing, she looks in to the audience hoping Angad had come but he still wasn't there. Kripa closes her eyes and begins to sing Intezaar from Paap

Kripa looks towards the door hoping to see Angad. She smiles for the camera and continues singing while thinking about Angad

Prithvi comes and takes Kripa to the dancefloor and slow dances with her, Kripa feels uncomfortable but doesn't show it and continues to sing

Kripa wipes away her tears without letting anyone see, she smiles as Angad comes into the hall, she walks up to him and he hugs her softly then lets her go

 

A - congrautlations

K - thanks....what took you so long?

A - was wrapping your present...here

 

Angad hands her a gift wrapped box, she smiles and puts it aside

 

K - thanks, everyones there, go join them

A - I will

P - ok everyone, its time for the engagement ceremony, Kripa can you come to the stage

 

Kripa smiles at Angad then turns and goes to the stage, everyone watches as they exchange rings, Angad closes his eyes and lets a tear fall from his eyes, he wipes it and joins everyone in clapping for Prithvi and Kripa.

 

L - bhaiya, lets go

A - already?

L - we came for the engagement, its happened, lets go

A - no....not yet, I still need to give her my gift

L - what gift?

 

Angad smiles and heads to the stage and takes the micrphone

 

A - ladies and gentlemen, I'm Angad, a close friend of Kripa's and this song is dedicated to her.....and may she get all the happiness she deserves

 

Kripa looks sad, Angad begins to sing Anka Hai Bari Bari from Tumse Achcha Kaun Hai

Angad looks at Kripa and smiles

Prithvi and Kripa dance, Angad watches and walks around them, someone hands Angad a guitar and he plays it for a while then hands it back

Sujal comes and asks Kripa for a dance, she smiles and agrees and dances with him, Lakshya puts his hand on Angad shoulder but Angad smiles and takes it off

Sujal twirls Kripa around and she stops in front of Angad, they look at each other and Angad smiles, he points, Kripa looks at sees them both getting married. The illusion fades and she looks at Angad

Everyone claps and praises Angad for his singing without seeing or knowing the hurt behind his voice. Angad moves through the crowd and leaves the hall, his family follow after him, slowly the guests leave and Kripa goes home, she runs into her room and locks the door behind her, falls to the floor and cries
