Chapter 13

She blushed even more , she had never expected that one day she will be kissing Arnav. It was just a fantasy , a wish , a dream for her ... that got fulfilled today. He fulfilled it , perhaps La was right , he too... Yes he didn't seem like a guy who will play with girls and their feelings , specially when they are his patients. Probably he too have feelings for her. This thought was enough , for heart to do summershaults and she through her downcasted eyes only , looked at him , sitting and thinking.

Arnav didn't knew how and why, but he lost his self-control and couldn't control himself from kissing her. He was surely not that type of guy who flirted with girls, or who took advantage of situations. But today , he felt as if he took her advantage. He felt guilty , his inner- conscience started pricking. He didn't knew how she felt about him , he only knew how he felt and today. He calmed himself down and looked at their hands, he was still holding her numb hands firmly inside his grip. He was confused what to do , so he decided that he will apologise for what he did.

That's when Khushi looked  up and they heard a ward boy say

"Dr. Arnav ... Room No. 103 Ka patient unstable ho raha hai... aap zara challenge.."

Arnav nodded and said

"Tum chalo mai aata hoon..." still facing Khushi.

The boy left and Arnav took a deep breathe and slowly kept her hands down and got up. He moved towards her head and helped her to lie down and then pulling the cover till her neck, he decided and started

"Khushi I am..." But she cutted him mid- sentence and with a sweet smile said

"Thank you Arnav."

He was seriously not expecting this , so he just nodded and left the room... not even completing his not needed apology'.

Khushi lied there , still feeling him around her, still smelling him , still feeling his lips on hers. She closed her eyes and a naughty smile appeared on her face and that's when she heard someone cough and looked at the other side to see both Dr. Payal and Akash looking at her, with smiles on their face. Instantly her smile vanished and she asked

"Kya hua ???"

And Payal laughed and said

"Yeh toh mujhe puchna chahiye KYA HUA ..."

"Kuch bhi toh nahi..." she said as if nothing has happened .

"Kuch bhi nahi.. phir tum akele akele mein itna smile kyu kar rahi ho ???"

"Woh mai..."  

And all three of them heard

"Dr. Payal aab Khushi ko smile karne ke liye aapki permission leni padegi kya ????"

Hearing this , the reactions came something like this... Both Akash and Payal's teasing smiles vanished and Paya's eyes almost popped out hearing his voice, while Khushi, she smiled in relief as her savious was there.

"Kya hua Dr. Payal aap chup hogayi... batayiye..."

Telling this Arnav walked towards Khushi's bed and Payal alowly turned to face him and while stammering said

"Nahi... who... mai... I mean.. Dr.Arnav..."

Arnav meanwhile took Khushi's board and started jotting down certain things and then looking at Khushi asked

"Khushi kal raat ke baad se kuch bhi improvement hua hai ???"

And Khushi smiled and forgetting everybody's presence slowly and said

"No... I am still feeling dizzy..."

Now that was another thing he was not expecting.

As soon as he heard the words, he looked at her and saw a slight smile playing on her face and that was enough to confirm that there was no place for his apology. He remembered the last night and then composing his face and touching her hands asked

"Still Numb ???"

And she slowly nodded .

He looked at her once more , kept the board and started walking towards Akash's bed , that's when Khushi's bauji entered the cabin. Her bauji came near her bed and sat down on the chair next to her and looked at her. Seeing her looking the other side , he followed her gaze and smiled seeing whom his daughter was looking at.

Shashi Gupta slowly touched his hands on her forehead and lovingly said

"Bitiya..."

And she instantly turned towards him and asked

"Aare Bauji aap kab aaye???"

Bauji smiled and said

"Jab humari bitiya.. kisi ko dekhne mein vaiyast thi..."

"Nahi bauji aisi koi baat nahi hai..." she said blushing.

"Aare hum toh aaj bhi chahte hai ki aisa waqt aaye jab hum humai beti ko kisi ladke ka haath pakar kar ghumte hue dekhe , tum kisi ke saath film dekhne jao ghar par bina bataye... aur hum tumhe uske saath dekh le... mai bhi toh yehi chahta hoon.. ki meri beti bhi sabke tarah normal life jeeye..."

"Bauji aap kya kya bol rahe ho... mujhe rulana chahte ho kya ..."

"Nahi.. nahi... sorry beta..."

And both of them smiled.

Khushi looked at her Bauji and she knew he was the person who was most affected by seeing her in this condition, and he was the one who have to control his emotions the most , as he cant fall loose before neither her aama or buaji and nor before her. She took a deep breathe and said

"Bauji aap chinta kyu kar rahe ho... mai thik ho jayungi.. Dr. Arnav hai na... I will get well soon... aur uske baad woh saare cheezein karungi jo aapne abhi abhi kaha..."

Shashi smiled seeing his brave doughter and keeping his hand on her forehead said

"Haan tu zarur thik hogi..."               

Precap :

Khushi was sitting on the bed and was as usual talking with Akash, when Dr. Payal came in with a bouquet  of white orchids  and Khushi winked at Akash and asked

"Oh ho! Dr. Payal.. kya baat hai... white orchids... kisake liye hai.. kahin yeh mere side ke bed par lete hue patient ke liye toh nahi..."

Payal suppressed her smile..
