                            Chapter 9

Two whole days passed after that night. It has become a routine . Everynight Dr. Arnav came before her dinner , checked her and then went away no more talking , no nothing and then the medicines, she was taking twice a day allowed her to be active for 4 hours.

Being a good reader she completed reading Mills and Boons and even for a short while have imagined her and Dr. Arnav as the leads.

But today there was a change , it was already 10 pm and Dr. Arnav had not yet come for her check up.

She raised  her head and smiled at her Aamma and said

"Haan aamma hum aapna khayal rakhenge.. aap bhi dhyan se jaana.. thik hai Good Night..." and Garima left.

She was lying all alone , sleep was nowhere to be found , she looked at her side bed and saw Aakash , yes the rude ... ok not so rude , guy fast asleep . She seriously wanted to know what has happened to him , and why he always looks so sick and why he is full of negativity and throughout the day cursing him and others.

She sighed and that's when she saw him walking inside. He with his bright aura walked towards her , brought a tool near her bed and settling down asked

"So Khushi !! How's you ?"

She was too busy staring at him and so missed his question and he patiently repeated again

"Khushi ???"

"Haan ?" she replied looking directly into his eyes and he repeated

"How's u ... and kahan khoyi hue ho ?"

"Nahi... Kahin nahi... And Ya I am fine" [No .. nowhere...]

"Good... Oh ! whats that ?"

He said bending a bit and picking up the Mills and Boons' from her side table, and looking at the cover said

"Mujhe pata nahi tha ki lawyers bhi classic love stories padhte hai..." [I didn't know that Lawyers too read classic love stories...] he said teasing her.

She felt it and she understood it clearly that there was a change in him , he was behaving all friendly, relaxes and coolly with her , no seriousness of Dr. Raizada was visible.

"Kyu nahi padh sakte kya..." [Why??? Cant they read ???]  she replied enjoying this small argument and he keeping the book said

"Nahi actually I have never seen my Di reading.. but wait a sec aagar unhone padha bhi hoga toh.. muhe nahi pata hai..." [But wait a sec if she had read also... I don't know...]

"Hmm.. but aapki Di..."

"Khushi I guess the previous day , I made it clear that yes we are friends now..."

"Haan... aapne bola toh tha... "[Ya you told toh..]

"And I guess I am not that aged also that ki friends hone par bhi tum mujhe aap' aap' bulao... U know ajeeb lagta hai... when I am Dr. Arnav.. then its ok... but when I am just Arnav... then please... I feel like I am some uncle you are talking with.."

And hearing this Khushi started laughing and he smiled too.

Khushi looked at him smiling and asked

"Ek baat puchu ?"[Can I ask something ?]

"Ya sure.."

"Kya doctors ko hasna mana hai ????" [Are Doctors not allowed to laugh?]

"What ?"

"I mean.. aap..nahi.. tum.. smile toh karte ho.. par kabhi khul ke hanste nahi ho.. mera matlab aagar tum  khul ke hansoge toh tum aur bhi zyada handsome.."[I mean u smile.. but you don't laugh... what I want to say is.. If you laugh then you will look more handsome] and she stopped understanding what she was saying.

He raised his eyebrows and asked

"Umm... kya kaha tumne abhi Khushi... Ki mai hasunga toh aur zyada..." [What did you tell right now Khushi.. that if I will laugh I will look more...]

"Nahi.. ku.. ku.. kuch bhi toh nahi.." she stammered and looked down.

"Nahi.. maine toh kuch suna.. aab patient ko doctor se kuch chupana nahi chahiye... so you have to tell me" [No I heard something and moreover patients should not hide anything from the doctor..]

She looking down at her bedsheet and almost blushing said

"Kit um hansoge toh aur zyada handsome lagoge.." [That if you will laugh you will look more handsome.]

"Oh !!! So now you are flirting with your doctor haan..." he said maintaining a serious tone.

And she instantly looked at him and said

"Nahi ! Nahi ! bilkul nahi... mai toh bas..." [No ! No ! not at all I was just..]

And seeing her like tis he brusted out laughing... And her wish of seeing him laugh got fulfilled. He after a minute or so controlled himself and said

"God !! Khushi.. see finally tumne mujhe hansa hi diya... happy now.."[See you finally made me laugh...]

Khushi blushed a bit and said

"Arnav aab toh hum friends hai ... so ek aur baat puchu..." [Arnav since we ae friends now.. so can I ask one more thing?]

"Ya sure..."

"Tumhaari koi girlfriend hai?"

He bent a little forward towards her and bringing a suspicious look on his face asked

"Kyu ? Madam aapko meri girlfriend banna hai ?" [Why? Madam you want to become my girlfriend ?]

"Nahi.. Nahi... aur waise bhi tum toh mujhse bahut bare hoge.. and mera ek boyfriend hai..." [I was asking just like that.. and you are much older than me.. and I have a bf.]

"Oh ! hello... what do you mean mai bahut bare honge? Miss LLB meri itni bhi zyada umar nahi hai.. and really you have a boyfriend.. that's great aso whats his name ?" [I am not that aged also]

"Aacha mujhe toh laga ki tumhari looks logo ko dhoka deti hai and tumhari age ka pata nahi lagne dete.. but lagta hai.. yeh fraud case nahi hai.." [Really I thought that.. you are really older but your looks hide that fact.. but seems its not a fraud case..]

And he started laughing and she continued

"Boyfriend ka naam janna .. yeh bhi doctor ko janna zaruri hai kya ?"

"Obviously after all I am you doctor..."

"Haan... toh uska naam hai... NK"

"Nk !!!! what a name... so you thing I should feel jealous ????"

 And telling this both started laughing hard and even loud and that's when Khushi all of a sudden stopped and said

"Thanks..."

He too stopped and looking confused asked

"For what ?"

"Aaj bahut dino baad mai real mein Khush ho kar hans payi... thank you for that.." [Today after really long.. I became real happy and laughed from my heart..]

"You are welcome Khushi... I know its tough for you... and tum jaisi ambitious ladki ko..."

"Its ok ! Arnav.. hum dono ki koi galti nahi hai.. isme... so sad hone ka koi matlab nahi hai.. aur waise aab toh kuch hi din bache honge na.." [Its not our fault .. so we should not be sad and moreover only few days will be left na..]

"Ummm... Khushi.. mujhe tumse kuch baat karni thi.. regarding this..."

"Kya ???"

She saw the atmosphere changing his seriousness coming back... and understood that Dr. Arnav was replacing the happy Arnav.

"Hm... I know mujhe tumhe yeh sab nahi batana chahiye... but after reading your mails and after meeting you.. I have seen the urge in you to live... And that's the reason perhaps why I thought of sharing this with you..."

PRECAP :

He heard her shrill voice.

"Beta tu thik hai ?" [Son you ok?]

And he opened his eyes to see his mom sitting beside him , looking worried.

He slowly smiled... he missed her.. he missed seeing her so much, but then soon his smile faded , when he saw The man , he hated the most in his life.

OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knowww I know you guys dont have to tell me... I am updating after really long and that also a short chapter.. but kya karu... My mom has threatened me and m not allowed to use comp a lot.. so whenever I will get time I will type and update pakka.. promise and other stories too..
