Part 8: Fighting together

Siddhi waits for Kunal endlessly, she had questions that every wife would have but her man was never near. The chopra's waited for him but it was post mid night so they left for bed but a wife's duty never ends, She kept waiting for him.

It was 2 30 am when Kunal entered the room, he quietly pushed the door not to awaken Siddhi but there she stood with red shot eyes burning him down with the look.  Kunal ignored her and rolled his mattress down and slept as if no one was staring at him

Siddhi: Do you think I waited till 2 30 AM to see you sleep?

Kunal(still on floor lying): Then, why are you still awake?

Siddhi: What kind of human are you Kunal? We are worried, and where were you?

Kunal: What do you wanna know Siddhi? Did I abuse Richa? Or what happened that night? You need answer for that right? ofcourse you are a lawyer..

Siddhi: Haan , i'm a lawyer Kunal, your lawyer who bailed you today but on top of that, im your wife. Why do you hurt me with your words when im not at fault? Earlier it didnt hurt because you didnt know me but now...

Kunal: What do you want to know Siddhi? ( sits up)

Siddhi: Truth Kunal, why did you go back to Richa's place again that night?

Kunal: Because she called me and said Vineet is trying to hurt her.

Siddhi: But did you find Vineet there? Did he hurt her?

Kunal: No, he wasnt there when I went and neither she was hurt.

Siddhi: Then why did she call you?

Kunal: I'm not sure.

Siddhi: What happened there that night? Why is she falsely accusing you?

Kunal: I dont remember ( or may be he doesnt want to say her )

Siddhi: Did you drink that night?

Kunal: No, I didnt drink

Siddhi: Then how come you were drunk when you reached home?

Kunal: Did you see me drunk that day?

Siddhi: No, why did you go to Anand's room last night if you werent drunk?

Kunal: I didnt drink but i felt dizzy and I went into his room. Do you wanna save some questions for tomorrow? Im done for the day ( covers the face with blanket and sleeps)

Siddhi: ( wonders why Kunal is like this and how she fell in love with this akadoo insan...)

It was 5 am when Kunal felt very cold, he tried to wrap his whole body within the bedsheet but that was not enough, so he woke up to switch off the Ac. He didnt find Siddhi on the bed, he looked around and found her writing some notes on the other end of the room.

Kunal: Havent you slept yet?

Siddhi: Did I wake you up?

Kunal: Answer me first  ( moves next to her to get a glance of what she is upto)

Siddhi: Preparing for the Case

Kunal: Its on monday and its still Saturday, go get some sleep

Siddhi: I'm not getting sleep, im worried.

Kunal: Aye...When I'm not at fault what is the need to worry?

Siddhi: Yes, I know but Kunal this is about your respect ( a smile creeps on Kunals face)

Kunal: Tell me one thing, werent you mad at me yesterday night? Then why are you doing this?

Siddhi: Im mad at you even now, you never listen to me Kunal nor you share. But that doesn't mean I trust you any less,( Looks into Kunal's eyes) .

Kunal: mm.. Siddhi, about what Anand said in the evening. I have been thinking, the way our marriage happened and our relationship till now has been just a understanding. And now since Anand is back..

Siddhi: I'm not an object to share Kunal, How could you ? Are you not ashamed of what you said? The only reason why i'm still here is because of this case, else I would have gone already Kunal.

Kunal: No one stopped you Siddhi!!

Siddhi: I know you Kunal, did I just hurt your ego? Oh you cant take help from your wife, wait you dont regard me as wife, how should i call myself? naukrani?

Kunal: Bas!! my fault, im going back to sleep. And i dont need your help in winning my case.

Siddhi (POV) : Why do you love this man Siddhi? He doesnt even know that you love him,

Kunal(POV):  What were you saying Kunal, Can you live without Siddhi? She is the first thing you look for when you wake up, Can you really do this for your brother? Marrying her wasnt difficult for me,  but leaving her would be the last thing I wanna do. Dont do Kunal

Kunal and Siddhi doesnt talk to each other... and the entire family is shaken by it. Some think it was the trust issue, some think it was due to Anand but only Siddhi and Kunal knew that it was mere ego. Even the greatest of men and women were brought down to knees by their ego, can Kunal just let go if it?...

At court... The chopra's sit ( Entire family was present including Siddhi at the observers bench) Kunal decided to argue his own case despite Siddhi's request to him to let her handle it.

Judge: Raise!  ......Proceed with the case

Thakral: Judge, this man who stands here( points at Kunal standing in the stand) tried to abuse my daughter.. sorry my Client Richa Thakral. He went to her place at midnight and ill behaved with her when no one was around

Kunal: That is an lie my honor,  Miss Richa called me to her place using an false excuse. This is an proof of call from Richa Thakral to my client at late night.

Thakral: My client called accused Kunal chopra to check if he reached his place.

Kunal: What is the need to do that my honor at late night?

Thakral : because they were friends

Kunal: Just Friend? My honor Miss.Richa was my's ex- girlfriend and infact she left her wedding to meet me. Is that true Mr.Thakral? Or do you need some proof?

Thakral: That is true, but totally unrelated. My client moved on with her life but I don't think Kunal did, and that resulted in this situation. My honor i would like to cross question the accused

Judge: Granted

Thakral: So Kunal Chopra, why did you marry Mrs. Siddhi Chopra?

Kunal: What bakwas question is this? And how is it related?

Thakral: Didnt you marry her out of family compulsion? wasnt she your brother's fiance?

Kunal: She was.

Thakral: So you married her to improve your mom's health condition, and things were all fine until Anand, Kunal's brother came back alive. You see he was not just his brother but also his wife's ex-fiance. That is where things went wrong for Kunal.

Kunal: Thakral! You are speaking about my wife, keep that in mind. I wont bear any disrespect for her!!!!

Judge: Kunal! maintain court decorrum, this is a warning

Thakral: So my honor, things turned bad right after that. A beautiful wife but now once again brother's lover. Kunal's wife had an affair with his brother and Kunal was not able to handle it and that is how he targeted my client. He vented that anger on my client...

(Kunal looks at Siddhi sitting in one corner of the court room weeping, she has been everyone's target without a reason, It was easy for everyone to point out at a women. Be it history or today its first a women who is questioned!!!! )

Kunal: Thakral...  I told you, i wont bear any disrespect for my wife!, be a man and face me , why do you wanna bring her between us? Didnt I tell you?, next time when you take her name you should remember this ...( goes down and hits thakral with his hand until his neck bleeds)

Thakral(bleeds in pain) : My honor, this man is a jealous animal, and you can see it clearly... this is what happened that night!!!! you saw it with your own eyes

Judge: Kunal! you are not allowed to procced with this case as a lawyer. You are debarred for this case. The court is adjourned till wednesday
