Chapter 6: Professor

At the dinner table, Geet was all lost in so many thoughts. One the deal has finally been signed. Till today, she had doubts on the deals happening with Khurana’s but today, the weirdo and his documents made it all so clear. Whatever it was, they were safe with the deals. She laughed at the thought of him “crazy”. 

But then realizing he was signing authority of KE, who was he? He definitely was not a man who had no idea about business but he knew it precisely.

“Dad, what do you think about that weirdo?”

“Weirdo? Who?”

“Know I mean that KE Signing Authority”

“Very impressive. I wish we had someone like him to watch over all our deals this way. Why did you find him weird, just because he was late? You were late to Geet”

“Yeah, all due to him” she murmured

 “Did you do something?” “Ni Dad, just like that”

Later Geet was lost on the payment – how she heard it twice in a day and in a completely different context.

Somehow she was also feeling the content of the podcast somewhere matched the theory highlighted in her favorite book. But the podcast was somewhere more updated with current trends.

With that her mind went to find the author of the book. That was her one more agenda to come back to India. She will find him. Maybe then request him to be Handa’s signing Authority just like KE has. Ohh and finding him will keep her mind away from that crazy.

After dinner, Family was having dessert in a huge theater room. Rocky’s exam has finished and he has pulled everyone to spend time together.

Geet had pulled his ear “Are you not done partying with friends that now you want us to join you too”

“Di, for once can you not be a normal big sis who shares secrets with siblings.” She had hit him and they had settled but Geet was lost in thought. She really was a straightforward person with no secret, but now due to that crazy man she has a secret of being kissed by him whenever they encountered and then equally participating in it. Why does she become what she is not with him around? Don’t know, if she meets him more, how many secrets will her life have, just like other girls of her age.

Thus knowing her own self, she felt Dev was the right partner for her. She was always in control with him around and she would not have any secrets with him. Thus keeping her personality of Geet Handa intact. But this man…. Geet UFF STOP NOW!!! But her thoughts didn’t listen to her. Why that idiot has to be unimaginably handsome, when she had looked at him closely, his sharp features, his deep dark eyes, his lips ufff, who have such perfect M shaped lips and his face cut, so well defined. These were not helping either. And his hold, she did not want her thought to go there at all, his well-muscled, hard body and then the way he held her, he had ways to tell her she belonged in his arms. No-No Geet, you need to divert from that pervert.

So from the next day, Geet got busy with two things. One her projects, especially the new one with KE and other in mission to find the Author. She looked at the abbreviated three letters as Initials of Author’s name.

“MSK…. Hmmmm interesting. Geet Handa on project MSK. Geet Handa never loses her deal, so stop hiding Mr. MSK. I am gonna find you.”

It was Saturday evening and Adi entered KM, obviously to be paused by Dev. “Employees not allowed in KM”

Adi looked at him in taunt “I know only free dwellers rule here. I am here on invitation”

“Chamcha… he is no more boss. It will be good for your career growth if you start to accept the truth as who is boss now”

“I am a finance guy and very well know where my growth is. Can I go now?”

“Hhh Go. He must be already in a drunken state now” he shook his head and left not before spitting venom. “Drunkard” Adi clenched his fist tight, he did not want to lose control and spoil things for his Sir.

Adi went upstairs and saw his mentor and guide in the worst state, drunk sitting on the ground, near bedpost in a drunken state. He knocked the door to listen

“OUT” he did not even look at the door. Adi’s heart bled, why is Sir wasting his life this way

“Sir” that voice and he turned his head to the door 

“Adi” he gave a sleepy smile “Sir you invited me for weekend. Should I leave”

“No-no-no-no… cooomee inn. So many years you took to cross the distance” Adi went and lifted Maannu to settle on the chair.

“You shut yourself, not wanting to see anyone.” He looked at him emotionally

“Sir Kyun. This way you are giving all leverage to them”

“Chill Adi. One day in a week, getting lost in my life’s sorrow, is that too much to ask?”

“Sir your Dada Ji, expected much more from you. You accepted defeat this easily”

He poured a drink for Adi “Take this, we will then be at level to talk” he laughed. Adi took his drink and waited for his mentor to speak

“Defeat me? Don’t you know me Adi?”

“But Sir, they are crossing limits now and company is dipping” Adi was really worried but Maanuu gave sarcastic smile

“Let them cross the limit, I want to see how far they can go. And stop worrying for company, it’s dipping on paper that is shown” he winked

“But Sir, I am checking daily stats” Adi was not convince

“You check stats for only 25%. Now don’t ask further” Adi knew his Sir was brilliant beyond even Adi’s thinking.

“Sir, when are you planning to come upfront?” 

“Never. I am not coming to that world. It showed me the dirty face of people, Adi, I hate it. I love my own unanimous world.”

“Phir?”

“Bhool Gaye? You wanted me to find my inspiration. I found her. Look at that painting, what do you think” Adi keenly looked at the painting and gathered his thought about it 

“It’s beautiful Sir. A woman, serene yet very strong.”

“Right” “But you did not give it face, are you yet to find her”

“I have found her but she is too practical to find me. Unless she finds me I can’t place the face. Other than that, she is too beautiful and spotless, I fear my painting will place a spot in her spotless beauty.”

He made another glass for Adi as he gulped his next one in a go

“The one who hates you?” “She claims so” he shrugged his shoulders. 

“Hope she is able to bring you out of shell”

“I don’t want to. Are you giving up on me Adi?”

“No sir, never can be. But if she truly is your inspiration, she will bring you out, whether you wish or not.”

Then in a drunken state, their talks went here and there. Adi suggested that he go to disc from next weekend, which he denied.

It was Sunday evening in Handa Villa. Geet was having dinner with family, busy in her though. She has got some leads about the book. It has been requested by a reputed management college of Delhi. Lucky for her, she doesn’t have to travel east, west or south of India as of now. First lead was the location of Delhi.

“Geet beta, please keep your time this week. We need to fix engagement date” Said her Mom and Geet choked

“Won’t touch you after once you are engaged to Dev” rang immediately in her ears.

“Mumma, what’s so hurried? I am busy with tons this month”

Rano was so irritated “Geet your marriage is fixed. Do you think getting married is a joke? You don’t even have time to get the engagement date fixed.”

“Mumma really, I am busy”

“I don’t want to listen to you Geet. Next weekend we are going to Khurana’s. Just get the date fixed. Not for this month, but next month.” Geet shied “Okay” deal was done, Geet had no option of running away. And she has to settle as part of the life process and so that her mother leaves her in peace.

Monday, and Geet geared up to visit the principal of the college. She had an appointment at 10 am. Before that she had meetings with vendors for her other upcoming project.

Geet finished the meeting by 9 am and left for the college.

10 am – A&M Management College, Principal office. (Fictional Name)

“Yes Miss Handa, have a seat”

Geet took the seat “Sir this book” she placed on the table.

“Okay, you own a copy of it. Nice book”

“The publishing request was sent from your college, so you must be knowing the author”

“You like the book, enjoy it” 

She gave a small laugh “This is not a romance, action or drama book for me to enjoy. This has great insight for business scenarios.”

“So use it, why are you interested in the author” 

“Because I want to meet the author in person, the person who has such insight. Will you help, if not, why?”

“I have no reason to say no, Miss Handa, with the reason that you are interested.”

“Good Thanks”

“But the author doesn’t want to be reached just like that. He will only meet if you really understand his work. Basically, he doesn’t want to meet anyone as author of this book thus these random rules” he laughed

“So what now?” Geet asked straight

He kept three pamphlets on the table “We have three guest professors and they also run their programs separately here. Many of our high profile students come here for these programs only.” Geet was listening keenly

“You go through these pamphlets and check their course. You select the course based on your study of this book. If you select correct course, you will get to meet him and learn directly from him”

“Wow, can I say you are trying to sell your program”

“I didn’t come to you. You may think as you want. Just like a business college run for money but this condition is laid by these three professors. It’s your wish and interest Miss Handa”

“Okay, I will check these courses”

It was n… numbers of small step stairs. Geet took the pamphlet and was getting down the stairs. A man in white shirt and tight fitted jeans, crossed her, busy looking into something. Geet went ahead and then stopped.

Realizing who it was, she turned “Excuse me” she said loudly, he turned. Geet’s suspicions were confirmed. The moment their eyes met, his serious engrossed face turned to his silly smile.

“What the hell is this crazy thing doing in an educational institute?” she talked in her brain.

“You??Here?” she asked, suspicion all over her face. He came towards her, all the way smiling

“Actually, I had a morning dream that you will be visiting here. And see how true are morning dreams”

“Shut Up. Do you think I am a kid you are talking to, all the time. I am a business woman, The Geet Handa. I am sure you are not a student here? Are you following me?”

“I can ask the same? Maybe a business woman, The Geet Handa, is here to find me?”

“Ohh give me a break” she shook her head

He came near her, very near, raising her anticipation. This is a public place and it’s a college. He sure is planning to get a slap or two from her

“But not fair” he made his face 

“Phir se public place pe. You promised payment in next visit”

“Can you please be serious for once” he made thinking face

“No, not possible with you” it was then a girl approached towards them

“Good Morning Professor” “Good Morning” he answered back with complete professionalism

“Professor?” Geet repeated to herself

“Professor, I was waiting for you in your cabin. Your notes. Thanks very much for lending. They cleared all my doubts”

 “You are welcome. And you very well deserve them or you know I would have never handed them to you”

“Ok Bye Professor” “Bye Miss Sakshi” she left and Professor turned to her

“You are a professor. No way” shock on her face would be very less to say. She cannot imagine even in her dreams that this chalta phirta kisser can be a professor. She kept looking at him all lost in her calculations

“If you don’t mind you can come to my cabin” he started walking, she mindlessly followed him, lost in her calculation about him in her mind.

“Okay that make sense, how he created those deal documents with such clarity”

They reached his cabin and she without realizing entered inside “What was the need to keep this as suspense?” she blurted her thought

“You said you are not interested that much to know about me” She broke from her thought when he smoothly slid his hand in her waist and jerked her to himself

“Okay now done with your investigation on me.” As he pulled her to him, smile formed on her face. “Pechle baar ke payment due hai inspiration” and he brushed his lips on hers. She smiled on that on his face. She was kind of accepting the fact that everything about this man was only pulling her to him, mentally resulting in physical.

“Are you not becoming too confident of pulling myself to you? When did I give you this permission” he sensually moved his hand upward

“Roka bhi toh nahi kabhi”

“Aur ruk jate tum?” 

“Aur rok pati tum?” he then removed his hand from her back, sudden emptiness, and she couldn’t take that emptiness and she pulled him by his collar

“I am Geet Handa, I keep my promise once given” he smiled and she bit his lips

he pulled her closer and rolled his tongue on her lips as he spoke “So it’s just to keep promise?”

She separated a bit and placed her finger on his lips “Shhhhh you speak too much” and they went lost into deep kisses, moving their hands on each other’s back. He placed both his hands on her back over her top and moved upward, she did the same, following his lead

After they separated, taking their own time

“Don’t get any ideas. This is just physical. I am getting engaged to Dev. That will not change. Don’t think this to be any emotional moment and expect me to change my decision” 

He smiled “Your life, your decision, my life my decision. You get engaged, I go my way. Our path will never cross once you are Dev’s fiancé. But for now…… “and took her lips again and she gave in again. His hands went inside her shirt, his fingers directly on her skin and she deepened the kiss. His confirmed decision somewhere scared her badly.

After long while they separated “You are magic inspiration”

She smiled on his face, still holding him tight “And you are puzzle Professor”

“Interesting, you solve puzzle, I feel magic” she smiled and was about to leave

“I feel I can trust you will not reveal this location of mine to anyone” She came forward with smile

“I want to solve this puzzle all by myself. Not giving anyone this chance” and she left
