Barso Re: Monsoon Festival OS Contest

It's pouring outside. You are sitting in your favourite chair, slowly sipping a hot cup of adrak chai as you pen the perfect story in your mind...Sigh! Is there anything better than this?

Hello, folks! Are you loving the petrichor in the air? Every year, this beautiful, earthy scent with the soothing sounds of the rain becomes a muse for writers. The season calls for romance, drama, intrigue, angst. It gives a gentle push to unwind and allow yourself to immerse into a good story.

So, giving your creativity a space to flourish, we bring you Barso Re - a monsoon-themed writing contest, where you may let your imagination run wild.

This contest will be held from 10th July and tentatively complete by the end of the month.

Last date of submission: 26th July, 11:59 PM IST

We may even have multiple winners across genres!* 

The story can be fanfiction or an original story, but it should be your own work and non-plagiarised.

 It MUST be rain themed and needs to have a title.

 Previously written works cannot be submitted for the contest.

 The word limit is maximum 2500 words. It can be shorter, but not longer. The plot of the story should be completed in this one story.

 You are free to write across genres, but your final submission must mention the genre(s) of your story.

 Mature content is allowed, but needs to be posted with rating R or rating X as specified in the revised rules. Also, please check what's NOT allowed as mature content in the link. 

 The story must be posted in the new Fanfiction Section of India Forums, in accordance with the newFanfiction Rules.

 Mention "barso re" as a tag in the tag field, while posting your story in the FF section.

 After posting your story in the FF section, PM the link to BlackWitch.

 Moderators/FFEs/BRs can participate in this contest.

 You can submit multiple stories for the contest.

 You can request Book Covers here. But this will not be a criterion for judging.

 Stories will NOT be beta-read before judging. You can, however, submit for beta reading after the results have been declared.

 Your story will be impartially judged by a panel of judges.

 Criteria of judging: Creativity, dialogues, characterization, grammar, concept, ambiance, and title.

 The decision of the judges will be final.

 *We may have multiple winners, depending on the number and quality of entries received.
