Part 1 - The transfer

January 22  2008

It's was supposed to be a regular day for Freddy in the CID bureau; doing paperwork along with his co-workers , but today he's getting yelled at by ACP sir because he did some tomfoolery in the bureau , which was actually not his fault ; one of Vivek's "clever pranks" agian......Freddy tried explaining to ACP that it wasn't his fault but Vivek's  , but ACP didn't listen to him at all , this time ACP sir went too far with his obscenities that Vivek had to step in and confess that he did it , before ACP could apologize he received a call from his CI  saying that the Scorpion Gang members are said to be hiding in an abandoned warehouse...... everyone left to apprehend the criminals........

Warehouse

They reached the warehouse and tried to capture the members stealthily , but it failed and the gang members started firing at the cops and they retaliated with thier guns . One of the members tried to shoot Daya but Freddy got between them and took the bullet instead.

Hospital

Fredricks recovered immensely......he was disappointed that only Daya and Vivek came to visit him in the hospital , they said that the others were busy; busy , couldn't  his co-workers spare a few moments to visit him? Is he that expendable to not given a second thought? He realised why Sudhakar and Asha opted for a transfer all those years ago. All these thoughts were on Freddy's mind while he was recovering with the help of his wife.

March 31 2008;

CID Bureau

Freddy returned to the bureau expecting nothing , and he was right , he didn't even get a simple how are you? from anyone except Daya and Vivek , it was fine because he'd already made up his mind , he knocked at ACP sir's cabin.

"Enter"

"Good morning sir"

"Good morning Freddy , are you feeling better?"

"Yes sir but my arm is still-"

"Glad to have you back , now is that all?"

(Freddy mumbles) "if it were Abhijeet or Daya , ACP sir would've been more caring"

"What's that Freddy?"

"Nothing much sir , I need a transfer"

"What? But why?"

"Why? My career has been nothing for the past ten years, I don't get any respect from my juniors , they're busy pulling my leg , I'm bullied by my seniors based on my set of beliefs which wouldn't sit well with the HR department if there was one in CID, I'm called  "Gulami wife" and various other horrible names by people who are unable to even sustain an healthy relationship let alone a marriage , I've been sub-inspector for 10 years now , and the last straw was during the last couple of months when no one came to visit me except Daya and Vivek and you didn't even let me finish saying how I feel a few minutes ago......there are more reasons than this but I'm too exhausted to list them out to you , in a nutshell , I'm done with CID Mumbai bureau sir".

"I'm sorry for making you feel that way Freddy , if you're insistent on leaving , a new inspector spot just opened in the Pune bureau, you will be there in a week "

"Thank you sir , I'll be taking a week's leave , because I have to find a new house and move out of my old one"

Daya and Vivek tried to talk Freddy out of transferring but Freddy didn't listen and he left. While leaving Abhijeet entered the bureau;

"Freddy I need you to search-" 

"I don't work here anymore Abhijeet"

Freddy left having a last look at the bureau and Abhijeet's stunned face

Part 2 -  The Pune Bureau

April 7 2008

It had been a week since Fredricks reached Pune. The move has been exhausting for him.....but it has been a week and the day has come to join CID Pune bureau as Inspector.....

CID Pune bureau

Fredricks reached the bureau and was about to open the door but hesitated ,he felt like he'd left the good old days of his life back in Mumbai and he'd made a big mistake opting for a transfer. 'No Fredricks" he said to himself "You're just nervous , you left Mumbai for a legitimate reason so calm yourself down and enter the bureau"......after composing himself for a couple of minutes he entered the bureau.....

"Inspector Michael Brian Fredricks repoting for duty sir"

"So you are the new recruit" said a familiar voice.....the person then turned around and to Freddy's amazement it was his old friend Sudhakar....

"Senior inspector Sudhakar , nice to meet you" he said..... Fredricks was worried that his old friend wouldn't recognise him but Sudhakar cracked a wide smile and said "How are you Fredricks? It's been a really long time since we last saw each other"

"I'm fine Sudh- I'm fine sir" Fredricks replied..... eventhough Sudhakar is/was his best friend he was Fredricks's senior in the bureau......

"Fancy seeing you here Freddy , or do you prefer to be called as Fredricks / Michael?"

"Fredricks is fine sir"

"I hope that you'll stop addressing me formally once we step out of the bureau?"

"Yes sir"

Sudhakar smiled , " Come  here meet your colleagues, this is inspector Sruthi , sub inspector Krish , Senior Inspector Shivam and  inspector Maajid"

"Where's our ACP?"

"She'll be here soon"

Soon ACP Asha (another old friend of Fredricks) entered the bureau and met him.....overall it was a great day for Fredricks......

After thier work Fredricks, Sudhakar and Asha went to a restaurant and started catching up with one another after a really long time......they cracked jokes and laughed and Fredricks felt like he was back in the good old days agian....."No" he thought to himself "this doesn't just feel like the good old days ,the happier days of my life are back".......
