How is my project going Lol, unlike the genius Shaurya hehe, I am uber stuck. I have to be the slowest coder in the history of coders I am going to get a flood of assignments soon

Chapter 6

Mehek sat next to Vicky, they both were watching Shaurya on his computer.

"You know Mehek you should do modelling Vicky suggested.

Ajay who was standing by their sides eyes narrowed.

"Mehek you shouldn't sit so close to some people Ajay muttered glaring at him. Mehek barely paid attention to them and just watched Shaurya who had a cute furrow in his brow.

"Shaurya are you done yet? She asked him. He looked up and blinked and then looked back at his screen and stretched his neck.

"God its hard to think like a stupid person. I am trying to break the system

"Why would you do that Shaurya rolled his eyes at her.

"If you used that thing you covered by your hair, and listened in your classes you would know what a stress test is

"Its when you try to find bugs or potential problems in the code Vicky chipped in. Mehek rested her chin on her balled fist.

"Maybe its better to just leave it the way it is

"During the presentation they will ask us all kinds of things. We need to be prepared to show them a faultless system Mehek Mehek went over behind him and touched his shoulders.

"I think you should take a break She said. Ajay and Vicky both looked away.

Shaurya looked up at her and pushed her hands away.

"You don't get it do you. I need to finish this. I am not like you. I cannot sit back and fail and wait for some rich man to marry me. I need to win. Because if I lose or miss one chance it's over. Everything I worked for is over. Do you understand that? He shouted at her. Mehek blinked and her eyes moistened, what a jerk. All she wanted was for him not to overstress himself.

Mehek turned around and walked away.

One week later.

Mehek was playing with snow flake in the garden. When she saw Shaurya coming home early today had been their presentation. Which she had been banned from. Mehek could not help but wonder if it went well. Karuna ma was out and she had no way of asking Shaurya. Part of her was kind of scared that he would hurt her feelings.

Shaurya wore a dark green suit with a slim black tie. Mehek sighed. Why did the jerk have to be so handsome?

She was wearing java T shirt and an old pair of shorts.

Her shirts had the words, eat, sleep and code on them.

Shaurya saw her and paused a little.

Mehek could not help it and ran over towards him.

"How did it go?

"I thought you weren't talking to me He muttered, trying to walk away. Mehek grabbed his arm.

Well she was, she just did not think he noticed. Well all, of his friends were sort of her friends now. They probably must have mentioned something to him. She grimaced.

"Shaurya tell me please

"I don't think so He said moving away. Mehek slipped, on the dewy grass. Shaurya caught her against his chest. Mehek looked up into his eyes and tried not to panic as her heart thundered against her chest.

"Please tell me She could not help but say.

"We got it He said, there was no excitement in his voice or victory.

"Why are you not happy? She asked him, it was his dream to succeed and do well.

He let go of her. And turned away.

"I am happy. He said and walked away. Mehek blinked and wondered what had just happened. Her entire body tingled from being so close to him.

Mehek's father held her grades.

"What is this Mehek? He asked her, Mehek winced.

"I don't pay for you to waste your time, what have you been doing in collage?

"Papa please, I have done really well outside of... Mehek wanted to tell him about the project, but he was not interested.

"I don't want to hear it. You are going to get married Mehek's face whitened.

"No papa please.

"I really cannot deal with this any longer. I will not allow you to disgrace our family like this

"I will work harder

"The only reason you really wanted to go to that collage was to follow Shaurya wasn't it. I watch you Mehek. I know how much you cling to that boy. I thought of it as a little harmless crush. But now you are far too old to still be running after him. And what status does he have next to us?

Mehek felt sick. She had never thought her father knew.

"Please papa. I cannot marry anyone else. I will die before... Mehek felt the slap on her cheek before she even saw it coming. She stumbled backwards and held her hand to her face.

"I won't marry anyone papa. You cannot force me. Social status power, money mean nothing to me. It never has. Mehek said, squaring her shoulders and forcing herself to meet her fathers eye.

"You think I can't Mehek?

"I will leave home!

"I will take away Shaurya's scholarship. If you do not obey me Mehek touched her forehead and a tear ran down her cheek. As she remembered Shaurya's words one set back and he would lose everything.
