Chapter 6

Part 5- Hum Tum

Shiva and Raavi were in their own world. The rain, the puddles and them. They did not care who thinks what and this was the best part of their trip. They had left overthinking in Somnath. Here, they just wanted to give each other a chance be happy. 

Raavi jumped on a puddle harshly causing all the dirty water splashing on Shiva. She laughed, waiting for his expressions to change and ran around while he tried to catch her. Finally after like 2 mins he caught her wrist pulling her to himself. Suddenly he didn’t want any revenge, he just wanted her, close to him forever. Her eyes were closed waiting for Shiva to dirty her. She opened her eyes to find him staring at her. She smartly tried to run away but ended up slipping and both of them fell on the floor beside each other. They looked at each other and burst out laughing. Who knew this could be so much fun. Who knew they were capable of having fun together. Shiva caught her hand and Raavi let him. They stayed like that there for a bit letting the rain pour on them. This was their moment of realisation, they could not stay without each other. Their feelings were not one sided. Their relationship deserved a fair chance.

After sometime which felt like ages, they made their way back to the room. They both ran to the washroom together so the room wouldn’t get dirty. 

“Shiva, mai bahar wait karti hoon.”

“Ruk, tu change karle pehle” Shiva quickly removed his shirt and put a towel on removing his trousers

Raavi looked at him being so comfortable around her. She blushed as she saw him in only a towel. She was blessed with a hot husband for sure! She nodded hurriedly and closed the door as he exited. 

“Shiva ho gaya. Aur bhi kuch hai dhone ko?”

“Dho kyu rai hai abhi?” He entered the washroom to see her in the bathrobe

“Aur kya karu humne itni gand machayi hai ghar jaake saaf karenge toh saare kapdo mein baas aa jayegi.” She spoke as she soaked their clothes in the bathtub.

“Tu saboon leke aayi thi?”

“Of course. Warna andar ke kapde kaise…” she started but stopped abruptly

He understood what she was trying to say and they blushed. He splashed the water from the tub on her trying to ease the environment again.

“Shiva, abhi nai.” 

“Toh phir kabhi.” He smirked 

“Tu na.” She splashed on him again

They laughed as they realised they had started playing again while the work was still unattended. 

Once the clothes were properly soaked, they washed them with water and were hanging them in the washroom. This wasn’t much but they felt this was intimate. Them in the washroom doing their chores. No one in their life had gotten so close to them. They smiled at each other continuing to work.

Shiva pulled out the next cloth which turned out to be her inner wears. She at looked him shocked and then blushed. She was about to take it from him when he just rolled out the excess water and hung them to dry. He smiled at her and she smiled back. 

They showered after their cleaning session got done and slept as they touched the bed. It had been a long day but surely in a good way!

Next day Shiva woke up first and saw Raavi sleeping peacefully holding his hand. His heart was full. Who was he trying to run away from? She was his fate and desire since early years of his life. He wondered what had he done in his life to be blessed with her. She deserved better maybe but he wanted to be selfish just this time.

He woke her up shouting in her ears

“Ayeeee khumbhkaran.”

“AHHHH” Raavi woke up scared and Shiva laughed at her expense

She rolled her eyes and hit him lightly. 

“Chal ab fatafat tyaar ho ja”

“Aaj ka toh koi plan nai tha?”

“Ab hai” he winked 

They quickly got ready early in the morning and made their way near water. 

“Shiva? Bata de.”

“Kochi aake backwaters na dekhe ye toh galat hoga na?”

“Omgggg Shivaaaa” she hugged him 

He laughed at her enthusiasm. She was a water baby and he knew she wouldn’t complain of he bought her at the same place again and again. She was surely easy to please.

They took the boat ride which lasted 4-5 Hrs. They loved the view and Raavi constantly held on to Shiva’s hand as if he would run away. She was elated. She kept on talking to him about her love for water while he heard her not complaining even after knowing the facts since years now. She took a lot of pictures of the views, selfies and finally their selfies.

Another couple who had joined them asked Raavi to take a picture of them and she did happily. They offered her to take her and Shiva’s picture and her happiness grew. 

They stood beside each other, holding tight and smiling brightly. Krish was right, this seemed like a honeymoon! Once the picture was taken, Shiva sat down while Raavi went ahead to take the phone back and lost her balance. She directly fell into his lap and he caught her in time causing her no injury. 

“You guys looked so cute. I had to take a picture!” The other woman winked

Shiva and Raavi saw the picture where they posed happily and the other one where she had fallen into his lap. They blushed, moved closer to each other, holding hands and enjoyed the rest of the ride.

They came back to their room exhausted. They ordered for lunch and decided to rest for a while.  

“Shiva”

“Hmm”

“Aaj last day hai”

“Kya?”

“Aaj ki movie- Hum Tum”

“Aur scene mera” he smirked

“Nahi. Aaj scene bhi mera”

“That’s not fair.” He cribbed

“Ye toh maine chut de rakhi thi warna movie aur scene maine hi decide karne the.”

“Theek hai. Bata” He huffed

“Khana kha lete hai” 

“Aur ye special hai.” 

“Aisa kya hai?”

“Pehle jab Riya Karan mile vo ek dusre de nafrat karne lage. Phir mile bahut mile and they realised ki vo dono hi ache log hai. Vo dono dost bann jate hai, ek dusre ki company enjoy karte hai, miss karte and finally fall in love. Ye kitni pyaari kahani hai.” She spoke dreamily 

Shiva smiled at her enthusiasm. He knew what she was trying to convey but tried to ignore it.

They ate in silence. Raavi was a bit tensed about what she was going to pull but they needed this. They needed clarity in life. They are all happy here but what happens when they go back tomorrow. Will he be the same Shiva again? She couldn’t even imagine that situation now.

They fell asleep right after having food. They were tired. They had an absolutely amazing time this week but the exhaustion was real. 

They woke up around 5 and Shiva had secretly  booked Kathakali Performance tickets. They reached there and Raavi was touched how caring Shiva was being. They enjoyed the performance thoroughly.

They reached the beach right after the show got done. It was already getting dark and there were very less people at the beach but extremely peaceful. 

Raavi stayed near the water and Shiva by her side taking care of her since she couldn’t swim in worst circumstances. She threw water on him and he did on her. He ran behind her swinging her in his arms and drenched her fully. She had worn a light pink salwar kameez. He realised her kameez had gone a bit transparent. She was unaware he knew, he looked around and no one was there. People were pretty far. He felt a rush of cold water on his body when he felt Raavi pulling him to ground to drench him. She laughed as she saw him socked. He pulled her closer and they fell on the ground with him on top of her. 

Their laughter died as they felt so close to each other. This was the closest they had been. A tear fell of Raavi’s eye. This wasn’t what she had planned but be it. Even if she had to break this moment she will do it.

She held his collar and spoke

“Tumhari himmat kaise hui mera, meri feelings ka mazak udane ki?”

“Kya?” Shiva spoke confused by the change of behaviour 

“Tu muje chodke meri shadi kisi aur se karana chahta tha. Maine sab sun liya tha.” She spoke 

“Mazak nai Raavi. Mai toh tera bhala…..”

“Bhala? Muje ek baat samaj nai aati jab tak ek ladki ki shadi nai ho jati, logo ko chain kyu nai aata? Kya meri life ka purpose shadi hai? Kya shadi ke bina ek ladki ka koi vajood nai hai? Sochti hoon agar badon hamari life complicate na ki hoti toh? Hum bhi normal couples ki tarah hote” She spoke tired 

“Ye sab tu kya leke shuru ho gai hai?” He was now tensed

“I thought tum mere kareebi the. Muje samajte the. Phir bhi tumhe laga ki mujse shadi karke phir chod dena sahi faisla hai?”

“Raavi”

“Ye baat hamari zindagi ki hai aur zindagi ki har baat mazaak nai hoti Shiva.” 

“RAAVI. Maine kabhi tera mazaak nai banaya samji. Tuje jhagadna hai toh seedhe seedhe bata de.” He roared

“SHIVA, TUJE MERI BAAT KABHI SAMAJ HI NAI AATI”

“HAA NAI AATI! MUJE LAGA TU MERE BINA ZYAADA KHUSH HOGI!” Tears started falling off his eyes

“TU PAGAL HAI KYA? TUM AISA SOCH BHI KAISE SAKTE HO? KYA TUMNE KABHI MUJSE PUCHA KI MUJE KYA CHAIYE?”

Shiva suddenly had a realisation. He looked at her tear stricken face. This was a scene and these were her feelings. She was trying to convey her feelings to him.

“Mai toh tumhe sirf khush dekhna chahta hoon” he spoke softly as he stopped trying to hold back his tears

“Aur tumhe laga mai kisi aur ke saath khush rahungi?” She cupped his face

“Kya tum… Kya tu muj jaise ladke ke saath khush rahegi?” He spoke hesitant 

He was a idiot to ask this but she wasn’t going to answer this for him. She pulled him closer from his collar, landing his lips on hers. She flinched as his weight suddenly fell on her. She made herself comfortable and circled her hands around his neck biting his lips. Tears did not stop from his eyes as he felt his chipkali biting him for being stupid. He rolled over, pulling her above him so his weight won’t make her uncomfortable. He kissed her back passionately feeling the moment. He had dreamt this so many times but this was above all. His hands freely roamed all over her and she let him. They pulled back in need of breath and Shiva looked around. This wasn’t a good place for all this. He met his forehead with hers.

“Thank you.” 

“I love you. Par uska ye matlab nai ki tu mere liye faisle lene lagega. Tera track record abhi kharab hai” she huffed

He just hugged her lovingly. He was more than he had asked for. He made her wear his jacket and they made their way back.

They reached their room and quickly showered to avoid falling sick. 

Raavi was waiting on the bed when Shiva entered the room from the washroom. 

“Shiva”

“Hmm”

“Muje ek aur scene karna hai. Aaj last day hai” She grinned 

“Aaj toh tu jo bole vo.” He landed on the bed beside her titling his head towards her

She blushed as he came closer but regained herself in few seconds.

“Chalo ab hum pretend karte hai ki hum yahaan arranged marriage ki mulakat ke liye aaye hai” Raavi giggled 

“Subah ke 2 baje hum pretend karte hai?” Shiva laughed joining her

“Start na ladka tu hai.” She huffed

“Hello Raavi, mera naam Shiva hai. Mai tumhari maasi ki behan ki…jo bhi ho saheli tumhari bahut tareef karti hai”

“Oho Shiva aage bhi hai.” 

“Raavi maine teri tarah ye picture 100 baar nai dekhi.”

Raavi whispered the lines in his ears and he spoke

“Aur unhone kaha hum dono ek dusre ke liye perfect hai.” He rolled his eyes 

“Why not.” She also rolled her eyes trying to be Riya 

“Kya tum itne saal Somnath mein rehne ke baad meri saath… ughhh… Kochi mein adjust kar paugi?”

“Sheher ke saath nai logo ke saath adjust karna hota hai. Agar logo ke saath adjust ho jaye toh kya hi farak padta hai.” She pulled him closer intertwining their arms 

“Tum shadi ke baad kaam karogi?”

“Tum nai chahte mai shadi ke baad kaam karu?”

“Jo tumhe khushi de karo. Sabki apni pehchan honi chaiye”

“10 on 10” she squealed 

“Kya tumhe bache pasand hai?” She added excitedly 

“Behad!! Muje ek ladki aur ladka chaiye. Par sirf ek shart pe.”

“Kaisi shart?”

“Unki maa tu honi chaiye.” He kissed her forehead 

Raavi’s eyes grew wet. Who knew Shiva could flirt. Not only flirt, make her go weak on her knees

“Agar kisi ne mere bachon ke saamne aakh utha ke dekha mai muh tod dunga. Mai bahut aacha daddy banunga.” He said dreamily 

“Tumhe lagta ki ye karke tum aache daddy kehlaoge?”

“Dekho tum itni aachi maa hogi ab mai unhe thoda bigad bhi doon toh kya farak padta hai.”

“Acha, toh saari mehnat mai karu aur saare maaze tum luto?” She neared his face annoyed 

“Haa! Meri nazar se dekho toh kamal ki shadi hai hamari” he replied dreamily 

“Aur iss family ko complete karne ke liye hum ek doggie adopt karenge.”

“Nai Shiva muje darr lagta hai aur Suman Kaki kabhi allow nai karegi cut cut.”

“Toh phir in conclusion, mai shadi ke baad ek aaram ki zindagi jeeunga bachon aur family ke saath.” She laughed as he saw her reaction 

“Bache aur family? Bache mujse pehle? Aur mai baki ki family ke saath?” She was annoyed

“Arre nai.”

“Agar tumne mera naam bachon and family mein include karliya ek regular member ki tarah, mai tumhara muh tod dungi.”

“Nai nai galti ho gai. Pehle tum, sirf tum, baki sab baadmein. Mai sabse zyaada aur hamesha sirf tujse pyaar karunga” He pulled her closer from her waist 

“Shiva.”

“I love you too, Raavi”

Raavi hugged him tightly. She had been desperate to hear it from him. This was so beautiful. Finally they were going to have their own new beginnings without anyone’s force.

Shiva and Raavi pulled back smiling at each other. 

“Aakhir Hum Tum ke beech pyaar ho hi gaya!” He smirked

“You’re my destiny like Karan was Riya’s.” 

They hugged each other again overwhelmed by the happenings of the day. Surely, this day would hold special importance in their life. They were finally on the same page.
