Chapter 18: I can feel your pain
Arnav: Hey dude, what wrong?
NK tucked his lips in and gave a nod: No nothing
Arnav: NK
NK: he exhaled while saying Oh come on, he turned back.
Arnav: R U OK?
NK: Wiping his tears then turning towards Arnav, haan mere bhai, i am fine.
Arnav: You dont look fine.
NK: Just that kuch yaad agaya. you know what arnav, i know the pain of loosing somebody, someone who is the most precious person of your life. Ruhi, my jaan she was, but i have lost her for my stupid ego, my stubborness, my carelessness.
NK opened his mouth as he started welling up and tried to gulp his sorrows.
We were childhood friends like you, well the only difference is we loved each others company a lot, there was nothing that we shared with each other except the physical part.
One day i came to know that she loves me and she had agreed to get married to me, when i lost my temper, my thinking, i was a pig arnav, i yelled at her, i got insecured, i thought out friendship will be smashed beneath this new relationship, i yelled at her, that how could she just agree without telling me. and she just said "because I LOVE YOU" and you know what i did? I ruined my perfect match by telling her that "I DONT LOVE HER" she pleaded that she cannot leave without her but i kept on igonring, she asked me to give a try but still i was stubborn enough to neglect all her pleading.
Then one day when she left me,
Arnav: Left you?
NK: Ya Arnav, she...she...he said in a chocking voice...she left m forever. she left this world, she was in depression for many days, she never contacted me, nor she left anyone contact me, i thought she was agree and just pissed of with me, but i...(he chocked again) i didn't know that she was suffering so much.
Then when i came to know that she is breathing her last breadth, i couldnot hold more, i was broken, for a moment i stopped breathing, my whole world seemed meaningless. i cried like a mad person, i wished to see her alive and wanted to tell her how much i love her, how much she means to me, how much my life, my entire life was based on her, but GOD had stored something more punishable for me. I saw my love lie still on the white sheet...(he chocked again) I saw my love lifeless,
i so wished to see her beautiful eyes twinkling
i so wished to see her naughty smile peeping
i so wish to hear her heartbeat again
I so wish to hear her voice and capture inside me.
There was a silence...neither arnav could say anything, nor NK know why he blurted out his feelings infront of Arnav. Maybe somewhere he felt connected to both of their emotions.
Suddenly their tranz broke with a watchman's voice. He came running towards them heavily panting.
WM: Sahaab!! Woh jo ladki yahan thi na (the girl who was here few minutes ago)
Arnav held his shoulder: Kya hua? Tum itne ghhabraye huye kyun ho? (What happened? why are you so tensed?)
WM: Sahaab!! Woh behose ho gayi hai. (she fainted)
NK: What?
They exchanged looked and hurried.
Arnav was the first one to reach her. he held he face and jerked. He didnot know why but suddenly NK's incident started playing in his head.
Arnav started jerking her vigorously.. Khushi!!! wake up damn it. Khushi!!!
NK ask her to get up, why the hell she is not talking to me? Khushi!! he jerked her again.
Arnav held her tightly, he was feeling extremely uneasy.
NK: Arnav, i will get the car now.
Arnav: KHUSHI!!! wake up. he embraced her and started tearing.
The rain started pouring, arnav still holding her tightly in his arms when suddenly he felt her struggling, he moved her and saw her.
When the first drop of rain fell on her eyes she gained her conscious. Arnav looked at her and she was looking at the highly concerned man in front of her holding her in his strong arm crying looking at her state.
Arnav looked above the sky, while rain pricked his eyes, OH thank you GOD thank you.
Khushi poked at his chest and gestured with her hand: What happened?
Arnav smiled looking at her and then embraced her again in his arms not, freezing the whole moment, feeling her, caring her and finally placing a peck on her head above her ear.
Before Khushi could react, a strong head light interrupted her anger.
NK came down running. he held his waist and exhaled to find khushi safe in arnav's arms.
Khushi smiled at NK
NK: What are you man?
Khushi still in arnav arms: What? she smiled. just fainted.
NK: Princess, you gave us heart attack.
Khushi: Us? you mean arnav too? (she looked at arnav who was now looking at her)
NK: Ya.
Khushi: No no, i think he would be the happiest person in this world to see me like this. He doesnt like me.
Arnav released khushi and helped her to get up.
He was about to leave, after hearing such a hurtfull comment from her.
NK: Hey dude, can you drop her home?
Khushi: WHAT!!! no no i can go myself.
NK: Ya, wohi karne gai thi right?
Khushi: Just fainted yaar.
NK: Just fainted? Oh come on khushi, what if you fainted while driving?
Khushi: Nothing of that sort will happen please, stop being pessimistic please.
NK: I am not being pessimistic, i am trying to warn you.
Arnav grabbed khushi's hand and pulled her alone with him.
Khushi stuggled within his grip: What the hell are you doing arnav, leave me, i said leave me now.
Arnav shot an angry look to her: Look khushi, i cant talk much and i dont want to talk much, right now i am really i dont want any argument ok? so please i am requesting you to come along with me, i will drop you home, but if you dont agree then i will not have any other choice but to drag you to your house.
Khushi: How dare you arnav?
Arnav: Dare?
Khushi: Yes, how can you talk to me like this? how can you behave so rudely with me?
Arnav: I am sorry, but i have no choice. your safety is my responsibility
Khushi: Why? r u my friend?
Arnav: No
Khushi: You are not even my Boy friend.
Arnav: I know.
Khushi: Stop behaving like a husband then
Arnav froze so did she.
Khushi felt butterfly in her stomach when she used the word husband against arnav. She recalled he once said hubs to him while finalizing the list of participants.
She looked at him with questioning eyes, he looked at her.
This is not the 2nd time she had addressed him as her husband though she meant negative today but she didnot know why she felt that she had addressed him as husband quite a no of times.
Arnav leaned and again grabbed her wrist and pulled her with him. this time khushi didnot say anything to him. she did what he wanted. she quitely went to NK's car.
Arnav opened the door for her and helped her to get up made sure he was behind her until she was seated. he fastened the seat belt and closed the door.
Khushi could only watch him doing it for her.
Arnav finally did the ignition and drove off.

Khushi looked at arnav angrily
but arnav didnt look at her for once. he looked straight ahead.
Khushi to herself muttering: Bada aya laad governer. Thats why i hate him so much. Mujhe aapna personal property samajta hai kya? Well cant even complain about it guy. hey DM why my parents are so in love with him?
Arnav: And what about you?
Khushi: haan! excuse me!
Arnav: You said it loud (he tried to suppress his laughter)
Khushi: Love and you?
Arnav: haan! me!
Khushi: No chance Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada.
Arnav: Or hubs?
Khushi was shocked.
Arnav pushed the break. The car came to halt.
Khushi looked at the surrounding...yeh yeh kahan hai...dont try and act smart ok?...i know karate.
Arnav bursted out laughing...oh really he smirked.
Khushi: Ya try me.
Arnav: I have better way to try you khushi kumari gupta.
He picked her hand and placed a feathery kiss
Khushi's eyes popped out and her jaw dropped, feeling butterfly in her stomach.
Khushi: You, you kissed me?
Arnav: Yes i did.
Khushi: How...how dare you.
Arnav: Chalo meine kiss kar diya tumne liya kyun?
Khushi: Very funny...
Arnav: It isnt. he started his car and drove off.
Khushi couldnot stop herself but to throw glances at him, he looked so good, his hair, his eyes, his nose, his jaws, his lips (she gulped)
Arnav looked at her halting the car. He smirked.
He leaned towards her and she closed her eyes in anticipation. he couldnot help but to smile.
He released her seat belt and it flunged open.
Khushi flinched and opened her eyes shocked. WHAT THE.
Arnav: your house.
Khushi looked at arnav horried and then glanced her house.
She looked at him once again and then her house. She held her head as if remembering something. She closed her eyes to see what she was remembering. It was blured but she could see then in the same situation, anrav halting the car in front of her house and she went inside running and then hugging her father.
She opened her eyes and looked at arnav once again who was gestering her to go inside.
She slowly opened the door and then closed it behind her. all the time looking at him.
Arnav: Good night! and take rest. Sorry i had to drag you like that. I didnot mean to. Sorry
Khushi smiled at him: She could only say thanks to him.
