Chapter - 19

"This bitc# really doesn't have any shame" nitesh gritted his teeth as he got to know about everything. 

Sid reminded of roli saying him about the guy, he cursed himself for not taking it seriously as he kicked the chair with his leg in anger. 

"Sid.." nitesh reached him to calm him down. "Roli might be disturbed with all these, go take her home" he said slowly. 

Sid then took permission from office and started to home. When he returned to his car, he found roli lost in her thoughts. He had a lot to say but he just couldn't find words to express. He gently looked at her and drove away. Therefore, the whole journey went in silence. 

When they reached home, sujata looked at them confused as she queried "roli, you're back so soon today?".

Roli looked down without knowing what to say. While sid looked at her and turned to sujata as he said "maa, I got call from college saying that she isn't feeling well. So, I went and brought her home". 

"Roli beta, what happened?" Sujata reached roli and asked worriedly. 

"Nothing.. maa.. I just.." roli couldn't find anything to say. 

"Let her take rest, maa" sid spoke as he knew roli wouldn't like to lie to sujata. 

"Oh yeah. Roli, go to your room and fresh up, I'll bring juice and fruits for you" roli nodded to sujata's words and headed to her room. 

After one hour, sid went to roli's room to check on her. Finding her asleep, he didn't want to disturb her, thus, he went out. 

When sid got back it was almost night. It was rare for him to have dinner with his family as he spend his time most with his friends roaming out. He found sujata and mataji in hall. 

"Maa, roli had dinner?" As sid reached them, he asked without thinking anything. 

Both mataji and sujata were stunned at his question as they looked at each other in disbelief. 

"See sujata, your son has already started taking care of his wife" a couple of moments later, mataji said looking at sujata. 

"Wife?" Sid looked at them, shocked with what he heard. 

"Yes, wife" sujata confirmed as she turned to mataji and said "so, finally our mission of bringing roli here got success". 

"What mission you both are talking about?" Sid was puzzled at their words. 

"What actually happened is, roli got admission in one of the top universities in US before coming here. But, as we already planned to get both of you married, we wanted to bring you both together and asked her dad to send her here. He agreed and left her with us before leaving to US" sujata explained calmly. 

Sid looked at them in disbelief for a while and asked "does roli know all these?". 

"Of course she knows" sujata answered with smile. 

After hearing her response, sid realized why roli had always treated him in a special way. 

"I hope you're okay to marry her" mataji said with a doubt as they both bicker with each other all the time.

Sid looked at mataji for a brief second before saying "who else can bear her nonsense other than me". 

Sujata smiled at him and said "roli had dinner and she is taking rest in her room". 

Sid nodded and headed upstairs. Instead of going into his room, he went to roli's room. But, roli wasn't there in her room. He then rushed to terrace and found roli standing near the railing wall. Roli was used to go to terrace whenever she felt upset of anything. 

He slowly walked up to her and stood beside her. 

"What are you doing here?" Sid asked softly.

"Do you believe me?" Roli surprised him with her question. 

Sid made her to turn to his side and found her crying. 

"I didn't do anything... It was.." before she could complete her sentence, sid held her chin and made her to look at him. 

"Have I said anything about it?" Sid asked looking into her eyes. 

"I thought you'd believe it and won't talk to me" roli said in a low voice as her eyes gazed down. 

After hearing her words, he thought that his parents were right in calling her a kid cause, she was indeed one. Did she really think that he'd believe such stupid things and won't talk to her, he wondered. 

"Have I ever told you how stupid you are?" Sid asked, making her to look at him confused. 

He smiled seeing her expression while roli didn't understood anything and continued looking at him, innocently. 

Sid gently pulled her into his embrace and hugged her. Roli was surprised as she rested her head on his chest. 

"If I again see you crying like this, then..." He paused for a while before continuing "...Let's think about your punishment later". 

Roli felt a lot better in his embrace as she hugged him tightly. A while later, sid broke the hug, cupped her face and placed a kiss on her forehead. 

"It's cool out here, get in" sid said and started walking, holding her hand in his. 

While it felt like a dream for roli as she silently followed sid. 

Reaching roli's room, sid left after saying "don't think about anything. Just sleep". 

Roli closed the door and laid down on bed. After that incident happened, the only thing roli could think of was how sid would treat her after knowing about it. Also the words that naina said that sid would avoid her, made her worried even more. 

Though she hadn't expressed her feelings all the time, still he meant much more than anything to her and the thought of being avoided by him had scared her to death. And she was surprised with his reaction when she asked about it to him. 

After realising that nothing had changed between them, she felt the weight over heart getting light. And with a relaxed heart, she drifted into sleep.
