Chapter 12
Chapter - 12
Roli glanced at her wrist watch to know what the time was as she waited for sid in hall.
After sid gifted her a watch, she indeed became more punctual then before.
Just then, sid came down, staring at roli as he reminded of her confession. But, she didn't seem to force him for any reply, which made him to sigh in relief.
It doesn't mean that he didn't like her. But, he just couldn't able to realize it yet or may be his ego and arrogant attitude didn't want him to do so.
"You're late by 10 minutes" roli complained, waving her hand at him as showing time.
"I'm not coming to college today" sid simply replied.
"Why?" Roli's voice came out as if she was shocked.
"Not just today, but this whole week. We got a project work, for which we've to visit few commercial institutions to prepare a record of financial statements. So, to finish it, we got one week leave" sid explained calmly.
"Then am I going alone now?" Roli felt like crying.
Upon seeing her expression, sid tried hard to suppress his laughter. If he burst out laughing at the moment, then she would definitely start a war over it and they both would end up being late for their works.
"Not actually. I'll drop you at college in morning. And driver will come to pick you up in evening" roli was slightly relaxed after hearing it.
But, this couldn't help her from missing him in college. She began to lose interest in going college for that one week. She was left with no other option as well.
Thus, after having breakfast, sid dropped roli at college.
When they got down, Sid's friends were already there, waiting for him. They waved at roli while she politely smiled back at them.
"So, for one week we're out of this jail, wow!" Nitesh, Sid's friend, exclaimed in joy.
"Yeah! We can do full masti now" Arun, another friend of sid, supported.
"As if you've never done masti in college" sid taunted, making them all laugh.
Roli, who was standing beside sid, too laughed at their conversation.
Sid turned to her and said "stay in parking area after college hours, driver will come to pick you up".
"Ok, bye" she said half-heartedly and left.
Sid kept looking in the direction she left, until she had completely gone out of his sight.
Arun, who noticed Sid's gaze, adjusted his throat, grabbing Sid's attention and asked "Is there anything you haven't shared with us yet?".
"What?" Sid was confused at his sudden question.
"Are you sure that roli is just a family friend for you?" Arun asked straightforwardly.
They were friends with sid since many years now. And till now they had never seen sid caring about anyone, let alone a girl. Sid had always maintained a fair distance from girls. But, roli was the only exception for him. This could be possible only if she had a special place in his life. After seeing how he was treating roli, his friends were curious about it and finally they asked him.
But, sid didn't seem to be interested to answer his question as he said "aren't we getting late? Let's go".
And giving his reply, sid hopped onto drivers seat while his friends shrugged their shoulders, hopelessly and followed him as they left to their destination.
Roli, though half-heartedly decided to attend classes, she was least interested to listen to any of them. She was missing sid very badly. Though they both were in different classrooms, their paths always came across with each other during breaks.
At lunch break, roli went to canteen with her classmates. Her eyes fell on the table, where sid used to sit with his gang. Glancing at it, she moved to the counter to take food.
While turning around, after taking her food, she bumped with someone.
"I'm so sorry.." roli quickly apologized. Then she glanced at the person she was bumped to. It was a girl wearing a top paired with mini skirt and her hair left open. She was so stylish and good looking too.
"Do you want to kill me or what?" That girl asked arrogantly.
"It was just an accident" since roli thought it as her mistake, she politely explained.
But, the fact was, that girl purposely stood behind roli, when she was about to turn. Of course, roli was unaware of it, so she thought it as her mistake, which happened accidentally.
"So.. roli, right?" That girl suddenly asked.
Roli was surprised to hear her name from that girl, whom she just happened to meet.
How she knows my name, roli wondered but, didn't ask it.
"No need to get shocked. I really don't know about you much. I just came to know only your name because I happened to know everything about..." She paused for a moment, making roli confused.
"... Siddhant" she continued. As soon as roli heard Sid's name, she looked at that girl shocked and surprised.
"You know siddhant?" Roli was curious as she asked.
"I'm Naina.. Sid's classmate... Or may be more than a classmate" that girl introduced herself, completely ignoring roli's question.
Anyways, her introduction was enough for roli to understand whether she knew sid or not.
But, wait, what the hell did she mean by 'more than a classmate'? Roli looked at her in terror when she heard it.
"Don't you have any project work?" Roli asked calmly. If naina was Sid's classmate then she too would have project works.
In real, what actually roli wanted to say was 'mind your own business'. But, she wasn't bold enough to say such rude words. So, she simply played with the words.
"I never mind doing such stuff" naina's answer was simple. And it was the fact too. She was a rich kid and her dad was a top businessman. She had always attended college whenever she wanted. None had the guts to say anything. Even if they did, she would simply make them shut with her money.
"You sure look like a smart girl. So, it would be better if you maintain your distance from sid" naina said it almost like a warning.
Roli was already feeling insecure without Sid's presence in college. And now this girl named naina made her even more uncomfortable, after which roli was completely annoyed and she left to her classroom even without having lunch.
When roli reached home from college, she was really very disappointed.
Firstly, she had to go to college without sid. Secondly, her encounter with naina, who made her annoyed to the core. It felt like indeed a bad day for roli.
There were none in hall, when she reached, so she directly headed to her room. As she was in deep thinking, she crashed with sid near his room.
"Ouchh.." roli cried holding her head, which got hit by his strong shoulders.
"Can't you keep your eyes with yourself while wandering around?" Sid almost shouted at her.
"Then why can't you keep your eyes with yourself" roli gave it back to him as she rubbed her forehead.
"It's indeed useless to talk to you anything" sid was pissed off. He then turned and went to his room.
Roli glared as she saw him leaving. Then she too left to her room.
After freshening herself up, she felt little hungry. Then she realized that she skipped her lunch.
"Stupid classmate of stupid guy. Because of her I didn't have my lunch too" roli mumbled to herself as she walked out of her room.
Her mind was still occupied with naina's words, when she was descending the stairs. Thus, without her own knowledge, she skipped a step and fell down.
"Ahh..." Roli cried in pain as soon as her body hit down.
"Roli.." sujata shouted her name as she watched roli rolling down the stairs.
