Sir insists

Sorry for taking so long, busy busy and then Fatigue and finally few days of rest. Look forward to seeing your comments on this one. A Very random moment but I hope you like non the less. The next one is a Sneha special 🧸 

Sir insists 

She floated around the bedroom after hopping out of bed. To open the shutters, to turn on the shower, to find the right outfit in the closet. Rishabh watched her prance around elegantly as he sat up in bed. Admiring her, silently seeking her attention even.  

“Mrs Bajaj” She heard him call out.

“Ji” replied  Prerna even before turning to him.  

When she did turn to him she saw a pair of inviting eyes, questioning why she’d made a early start but more pertinent in them was a instruction to come closer.  
Closing the distance from where she was to the bedside with some steps  Prerna perched on the bedside next to Mr Bajaj. “Good morning” she said with a smile. On the other hand Rishabh wanted to start the day on a different note.
A little less formal and a lot more intimate. His eyes asking her to take a desired position in bed so he could make morning  love to her. The sort of look that was a stern instruction yet gleamed of love, addiction & attraction. Prerna on the other hand could feel her heart rush. Make eye contact and loose to either his mischievous charm or devilish authority. Both  of which she’d endured many a time.

She knew better now how to handle a matter like this.

“Aap jaisa chahe,  (“as you wish”) she said placing the palm of her hand on his chest, avoiding his eyes right until the the end for a momental glance . .. “just not  today ...please” 

The look of innocence  that could melt mountains. A gentle yet cunning way to get her way and Mr Bajaj  a gentleman who fell for his wife’s sweet talk every time. He however made sure he had the last say. “You’re excused” he replied catching his wife’s victorious and loving eyes as whisks herself away.

Later at the breakfast table as George asks whether Mrs Bajaj would be joining them for breakfast Veena jumps in politely.  

“Prerna is fasting for Mr Bajaj today” Rishabh looks over his newspaper at his mother in laws smiling eyes. That was the first he’d heard of this but it made this morning a little clearer to him now.

“Nani what’s a fast?” Chirps Kuki from her place at the table crunching on her chocolate cereal. 

“Never you mind, chalo get ready for school!” Replies the her grandmother. 

“Bye pa” smiles Kuki after Tiptoeing as much as she could to give her father a kiss on the cheek, where she couldn’t reach rishabh had to dip his face for her. 

“Bye sweetheart” he replied with a smile. 

...

Rather than just leave for office after breakfast Rishabh wished to see Prerna. 

As he walked back to their room he saw her sat at the dressing table. Applying her sindhoor  and putting on her mangalasutra. 

“Thank you for today” he said when she caught him in the mirror reflection. 

She smiled.

Stepping towards her Rishabh couldn’t help but think about how far they’d come. When they’d first met  Mrs Bajaj had very resentful relationship with all these marital symbols and yet today she adorned them all for him.

Placing the palms of his hands lightly on either shoulder he kissed her softly on the crown of her head. “I’ll see you in the evening” he said but Prerna insisted she would accompany him to the office as per any other day.

...

Rishabhs concern for Prerna showed In the little things. In the way he asked for the air on to be on in the car on the way to work on the temperature she liked or the way he left behind his cigars this morning. 

That morning in the office as he saw Prerna carrying a stack of files he intervened. 

Mehra take those off Prernas hands he requested sitting back in his CEO chair. He could see prerna from beyond the glass casing of his office. 

The boss seemed obviously distracted from the work thought Mehra.

“Sure but Mam is a very independent woman sir she won’t like that” warned Mehra.

“Tell her I insist” he says with smug eyes and a concerned heart.

..

Oh thank you mr Mehra I’ll be fine..! Says Prerna not sure why a helper had suddenly appeared. When Prerna become difficult to convince two words came to mind. 

“Sir insists” 

A little surprised Prerna gives in. 

“Thank you Mr Mehra”

...

Later that afternoon as Prernas begins to get a headache, Rishabhs personal assistant knocks at the door of her cabin. When invited in she leaves painkillers on Prernas desk.

“Let me guess Mr Bajaj ?” 

The lady nods with a smile and leaves.

Prerna looking to her husbands cabin sees the back of his posture trying to decide on how she felt about Mr Bajajs little gestures. 

..

Later into the afternoon when Prerna sees the staff leaving the office unusually early she overhears some ladies connecting Mr Bajajs sudden generosity to all sorts of speculations. 

The office goes quite and Prerna finds Rishabh stood at the door of her cabin.

Finding her blazer he holds it out for her to loop her arms through. 

“You shouldn’t” she says softy at a very unusual moment. 

“Shouldn’t what?”

“This” by which  she meant all the little things that were making her feel as if she was breaking all sorts of traditions. The day felt like it was more about her then him but Rishabh was there to remind her that it was his duty  reciprocate every bit of care affection, respect and loyalty she gave him. 

“Let’s go home Mrs Bajaj” he spoke in his Rishabh Bajaj tone. Prerna gave him a sigh.

“I insist” he added to make the moment non negotiable.

...

That evening as Prerna waited for the moon to appear at the porch of their bedroom Rishabh  who’ was on his phone within their bedroom caught Prerna on her feet. 

“Sit down Mrs Bajaj” he called out and Prerna sighed

 “As sir insists” she mumbled  as she sat back in the chair staring out at the sky.

Obviously not much got past him 

Hmm?! He stopped to ask but she put him off “Nothing” replied smiling at into the night sky.
