Dil hai tuta , tute hai hum

It was raining when taani came back. She was totally dranched. Her tears were mixed up with rain water. She directly went in her room , without noticing swayam who was waiting for her in hall. 

"Taani?" He called her but she did not heard him. He found something strange and followed her in her room. When he went in, taani was sitting down lost in her thoughts. Her clothes and hair were wet due to rain and She was shivering badly.

"Taani?" He again called her, this time getting a reply from her.

"Ji bhai?" She said as she heard him. She stood up and faced swayam.

"Look at yourself taani. Ese to bimar ho jaogi." Swayam said and went to get towel from her cupboard. "Kaha gayi thi?" He asked her while taking out a towel.

"Vo bhai me rey se milne gayi thi." She replied , her voice heavy due to her cry iiing session. Swayam handed her towel, which she took but put it in her lap.

"Kya hua hai taani? You can tell me. I know college me hamare bich differences hai but ye ghar hai." Swayam said while taani sat on bed,followed by swayam.

" I and rey broke up." Taani said, giving a shock to swayam.

"What? Break up? But why?" He asked her. 

"Aap apne best friend se hi ja kar puchie." Taani said to him , which hurt him a bit as she said word " best friend" little heavily.

" Taani , please." Swayam said, "Lets not argue over this okay? Now tell me kya hua hai."

"I want to be alone bhai. I promise i will tell you everything, but right now i need me time." Taani said , to which swayam nodded positively. He very well know his sister is exact copy of him. She also needs alone time just like him. He went out of room while taani went in washroom to take a shower.

Swayam tried to call rey but he was not answering which made him worried about him. Without thinking about anything else he left to meet rey.

Rey was lying down on sofa , his face showing nothing at all. He just couldn't digest what happened an hour ago. He still felt like its just a dream. Thousands of thoughts were running in his mind. But the fact that taani ignored all his calls was bothering him. How could she suddenly breakup like this. Yes he eas wrong , but she can make him understand what his fault was. But instead she broke up with him. 

Suddenly door bell rang disturbed him. He stood up in a hope to see taani at his door step. He went and opened the door only to find swayam in front him. As soon as swayam came in , he hugged him tightly , as if his life is totally dependent on him.

"Swayamm.." rey cried as he hugged him. 

"Rey , shhhh... Don't cry. Please." Swayam tried to break the hug but his hug was very tight. He let him cry for few minutes and then tried to talk to him.

"Rey , exactly kya hua tha? Why did you both broke up?" Swayam asked him while trying to break their hug.

"Kya batau yar swayam , taani bahot naraz hai mujhse. " Rey said. Swayam made him sit on sofa and he too sat beside him.

" Mujhe detail me batao kya hua hai." Swayam said to which rey started to narate everything.

"Please meri puri baat sun na. Uske baad kuch bhi bolna. I don't want that tum bhi mujhe galat samjho swayam." Rey said to him. 

" Okay rey. Calm down. And tell me everything. " Swayam assured him and rey narrated everything to him.

" So you were going to break her heart so that she can focus on her career. " Swayam asked him.

"Swayam , please galat mat samajh. I realised that it was wrong. It was my biggest mistake that i thought of doing a fake break up with her." Rey told him. His hand was holding swayam's hand just to make sure he doesn't misunderstand him. " I told her this , i said sorry to her. I begged , but she .... Kuch nahi suna usne swayam. " Now tears were rolling down his cheeks. His sentences were disturbed by sobs. Swayam tried to calm him down , but couldn't do so. He never saw his best friend like this , never. 

"Rey , please. Calm down. Chup ho ja." Swayam pulled him in a hug. He cant see his best friend like this. Otherside , taani was on his mind too. Agar rey ka yeh haal hai , taani ka bhi to yahi haal hoga. 

"Vo mera phone bhi nahi utha rahi hai swayam. Me kya karu yar? Please tum kuch karo na. " Rey begged, in a hope to talk with taani.

" Rey , taani needs some time. I am sure everything will be alright. Just give her some time. " Swayam assured him. " Did you ate something?"

Rey nodded in no. "Not in a mood." He said.

"Pagal hai kya? You need to eat. Taani ko manana hai na? " Swayam tried to convince him. 

" I am sure taani ne bhi kuch nahi khaya hoga. " Rey said , while swayam went to kitchen and brought some fruits.

" Taani ko me khila gunga. Abhi tu kha le." Swayam said and gave him a bowl full of fruits, but rey he put it aside.

"Bilkul man nahi hai swayam. Taani vaha bhukhi hogi, ro rahi hogi. Everytime i hurt her swayam, every damn time." He said , thinking of each and every time he hurt her. When he rejected her , when he was angry on her because she was with shivam , when she became GS , when everytime he unintentionally got angry on her , and all other things.

"Rey , i said na , me usse khila dunga." Swayam said and he himself fed him a piece of apple.

"I know her swayam. Vo nahi khayegi." Rey said , denying that piece of apple.

"I am her brother rey. I know how to handle her. Yes , right now we have misunderstandings but that doesn't mean we aren't cousins anymore. That bond is from years , and nothing can break it. " Swayam said , thinking about all recent fights and misunderstandings between them. 

"Thik hai. Tu kehta hai to maan leta hu." Rey said and ate two pieces of apple. After sometime swayam left from there as he also have to look after taani.

Here taani was laying down on her bed. Sleep was far away from her eyes. She couldn't focus on anything but rey. How he changed suddenly? Suddenly she was annoying to him. He even thought of doing a fake breakup. Her eyes started to fill with water as she thought about this. It was very hard for her to believe that rey was thinking of this. What if she hadn't heard his and sharon's convo? What if she hadn't ignored him? May be then right now rey would have been acting of a fake break up. Is it very easy for him to stay away from her? She clutched her soft toy close to her heart and tried to stop sob coming out of her throat.

"Taani?" She heard swayam calling her. Hurriedly she wiped her tears and replied , "jee bhai?"

Swayam came in with a dinner. Taani noticed it and sighed.

"Bhai , i dont want to eat." Taani said and looked away.

"I know , i know. But skipping your dinner is not good. " Swayam said. He sat beside her and put plate in front of her.

" Bhai , please. I want to be alone." Taani said to which swayam nodded positively.

"I know taani. And I won't force you to eat. I know this is very hard for you. When you love someone truly and still you are not together, its very very hurting. But i am also sure that this phase will pass soon. " Swayam tried to make her understand.

" Bhai , I dont think this phase will pass soon." Again tears rolled down on her cheeks. " I'll have to face rey everyday. That will remind me of our breakup and that will end up in i am getting more hurt. " 

" I know one thing,And it is that everything will be better soon. Just take care of yourself. And i am always here if you want to talk. I know we have some issues in college , but at home we are still that old Swayam-Taani. " Swayam calmly said to her. 

" Thanks bhai. " Taani said and gave him a side hug. Swayam then left her room and taani tried hard not to think about rey. She tried to eat but hardly ate 2-3 spoons and then left it. This was indeed very hard for her. She sat near window , thinking about what just happened in her life in past few days.

Rey was in rehearsal hall but he wasn't focused on dance. He was sitting in a corner , looking at his phone continuously. It was 52nd time he was calling taani and she ignored him.

Damn. He cursed under his breath and threw away his phone. 

Everyone present in hall got shocked. They never saw rey doing something like this. From morning they were witnessing his changed behaviour and now this was limit.

"What happened dude? Why are you so angry?" Sharon asked him. Everyone came to him and saw his fuming face.

"Hey , calm down. Tell us what happened?" Simmi asked him , trying to make him calm a bit.

" Dude , taani ki aatma aa gayi hai kya tujhme? " Vicky tried to make their conversation light , but it backfired on him. This angered her more and he lost his cool.

" Stop it. Just stop it." Rey yelled. He took his phone and again dialled taani's number, again getting no reply in return.

"Itna kyu bhadak raha hai? Taani ne phir se juth bolne ko kaha hai kya?? " Nil asked him , getting a glare in return from both sharon and rey.

"This is too much yar. I don't think she is good for you. Break up kar le us se. " Vicky said , and that was it. Rey lost his cool completely.

" Stop it. Just stop it okay? I dont want to hear anything about us. This is our personal matter. " He barged out of rehearsal hall fuming in anger , once again dialling taani's number.

He came in fire exit and sat there. Thinking of calling her for a last time , he called her. And surprisingly she answered this time.

"Taani? Why are you doing this to me? Please don't do this." Rey said and couldn't control his sobs. He sat down as tears rolled down his cheeks. He waited for her to reply but in return he heard sobs.

"And what you did rey?" Finally she spoke. " I can't forgive you for this rey. Aap ne mujhe bahot hurt kiya hai iss baar."

" I am sorry taani. Esa phir kabhi nahi hoga. I promise." Rey begged to her , but taani was in no mood to listen to him.

"I am hanging up rey. Bye." He heard her saying this and then beep.....line was disconnected to his surprise. 

" How can you do this taani?" He said , "i think i have to meet you now." He barged out of fire exit without thinking twice, spinning his bike keys around his finger.
