CHAPTER 10

 As soon as Swayam walked out of VP sir's cabin, he was ambushed by the gang, who had been clearly there for quite some time.

 

"Kya hai?" he asked

"Kya hai?" all the boys asked in return.

"Wahi toh main pooch raha hoon. Kya hai? Tum sab yahan kya kar rahe ho?"

"Aise hi bas hawa khane aaye the"

Swayam folded his hands to his chest. That drew Sharon's attention to the file clutched in his hand.

"Really?" Swayam asked arching an eyebrow.

She signaled Rey and he understood at once

Before anyone could react, he had plucked the file out of Swayam's hands.

"Hmmm, let's see kya hai is mein!" Rey mused

"Rey, wapas de file idhar"

The entire gang toyed around with the file, passing it to one another to rile Swayam a bit, till he finally caved in.

"Acha baba batata hoon."

"Meri behen aarahi hai"

Blank looks greeted him. Rey on the other hand went rigid. It was one thing to think of her, but to actually have her in front of him? He wasn't ready for this. All the moments he spent with her right till she left college came flashing to him and he felt weak in the knees.

Everyone looked at Rey and Simmi braved the question, "Who do you mean Swayam?"

Swayam probably realized everybody thought it meant Taani when he chanced a glance at Rey and found him shell-shocked and stock-still. He hurried to clarify.

"Nahin nahin..meri apni behen aarahi hai." "I mean to say", he fumbled around wondering how best to explain without bring Taani up. "Not my cousin, meri own behen."

"Niyati Rishi Shekhawat"

It would be safe to say that the whole gang was relieved. Taani was special to them all but more importantly, to Rey. And with his relationship with Kria, Taani's return would only complicate matters more.

"Yaal, ek baat pehle cleal kal, teli kitni behnein hai? "Everybody started to laugh and thus, the tension was diffused.

"2 hai. 1 se toh tum sab log mil chuke ho," Swayam said looking at Rey with concern. Rey pretended not to notice. "1 se tum sab abhi milne waale ho."

"Who sham ko Mumbai aarahi hai aur kal se, if she feels up to it, college join karlegi."

Satisfied with the extracting the secret from Swayam, the whole gang moved towards the canteen.

Vicky pulled Nil, Amar and Bharat back and whispered "yaar! pehli behen ne dhamaka kar diya tha. Poora college uthal puthal kardiya tha. Ab ye doosri kya bomb phodegi?"

"Chal na yaar"

"kuth bhi bolta lehta hai"

"uthal puthal..really?"

                     It was evening and Niyati was due any minute. Hari dada was going about his business in the house while Swayam couldn't control looking at watch every 2 times every half a minute.

"Aajayegi beta," dada said soothingly, "aapko pata hai na Mumbai ka traffic."

Swayam nodded absentmindedly. The next instant, the doorbell rang. He sprang out of his chair and rushed to open his door. Standing on his doorstep were Nil and Vicky

"Hey dude??wassup?"

"Tum donon yahan kya kar rahe ho?"

"Woh..woh.." Clearly not expecting that question so soon both of them looked wildly around hoping some excuse would swoop down and claim them.

"Hum...hum video games khelne aaye the"

"Huh?"

"Haan? Huh kya haan?? Yaar baaju hat na kitne sawaal karta hai." Both of them forced Swayam out of the way and got in.

Ding dong!

Swayam had just closed the door, when the bell rang again. His excitement again turned to dismay when he saw Simmi, Aashi and Rini standing at the door.

"Who humein ek cultural event ke baare mein discuss karna tha."

He let them in, a bit nonplussed. He was about to close the door, when Bharat made an appearance followed by Amar. Swayam just shook his head and let them in before they could even open their mouths.

Sharan turned up next, which was a surprise.

"Yes?" Swayam asked a bit coldly.

"Woh mujhe business law par last week jo debate competition hua tha, uske details chahiye."

"Ok. Woh main tumhe kal subah hi de chuka hoon."

"Oh! I forgot. Acha, then I think..."

"Hey Sharon!" Rey and Kria wished her as they made their way through.

"Ab tum donon yahan hawa khane toh aaye nahin hoge..right?"

"Right.. hum donon toh bas apne dost se milne aaye hain"

"Riiiggghht!! Subah college main toh tum log mere bhoot se mile honge.. hai na?" Swayam teased closing the door.

He knew everybody was here to meet his sister. They were all curious about her. As a matter of fact, so was he. In do saalon mein  kitna badal gayi hogi woh?

Just then, the door bell rang
