CHAPTER 9

 

                    The moment the Professor walked out of the class, the entire gang rounded up on Swayam, the manner strikingly similar to vultures circling dead meat. And boy was Swayam a dead man then! Vicky and Nil grabbed Swayam's shoulders from either side and forced him back into his seat. Bharat placed his hand onto his desk and snapped his fingers demanding Swayam's attention.

"Bol na baat kya hai?"  Bharat began.

"Arre guys! Kya kar rahe ho tum log? Hua kya hai tum sabko!"

"Yahi toh hum jaanna chahte hain. Hua kya hai tujhe?" Nil asked.

 

Swayam looked at Rey, silently pleading to help him out of the situation. But Rey had other plans and pretended to be busy with his phone. After all, he couldn't deny that he was equally curious. Swayam had never looked that happy or impatient and if that didn't have something to do with Sharon, then it was worth finding out. And who could find things out better than his friends? They were self-proclaimed private detectives and knew more gossip than your regular aunties.

"Yaar kya hai ye? Subah se bas ek hi sawaal"

"Tu toubt aane waali halkatein kalega, toh tele pe pyaal aayega tya?"

"What?" Cried the whole team in unison.

"Arre ye bol raha hai ke tu doubt aane waali harkatein karega, toh tere pe pyaar ayega kya?" translated Bharat

"Haan haan yaar, sahi hai" everyone murmured in assent.

"Guys, but maine kiya kya hai?"

"Zyada shaana mat ban, nahin toh teri aisi hawa tight karunga na ke.." Bharat began when he was suddenly interrupted.

"Tum itne hyper kyun ho rahe ho aaj?"

Everybody stilled on hearing Sharon's voice and an uncomfortable silence fell.

"Yes, Swayam itna excited, not seeing Neha" "

Exactly" chimed Simmi

Before Swayam could be grilled and devoured further, thankfully the peon entered informing him that VP sir wanted to talk to him. Heaving a sigh of relief, he scarpered faster than anyone could blink.

"Guys, solid locha hai. Main toh ja raha hoon uske peeche" Nil announced

"But eavesdrop karna buri baat hai na!" Rini began moral policing them.

"Eave..kya?" Bharat asked, confused

"Matlab kisi ki bhi baatein sunna" Vicky explained.

"Oh acha acha"

"Enough guys! All is fair in love and war. And this is Mission Impossible IV!" Vicky boomed.

"Abbe wo movie ban chuki hai already" Nil replied, facepalming himself.

"Acha? Toh toh koi baat nahi, 5 bana lete hain"

With this all the boys moved out of class, humming Mission Impossible theme song and holding imaginary guns in their hands.

Sharon and Rey looked at each other, and followed their friends out.
