Zorawar Ahluwalia stands up against trolls; calls out online bullying directed at Kusha Kapila

Popular social media influencer and actress Kusha Kapila, known for her witty content, recently made headlines with the surprising announcement of her separation from her partner, Zorawar Ahluwali. The couple, who had been married for a span of six years, took to their respective social media accounts to inform their loyal fanbase about their decision to part ways.

Unfortunately, in the aftermath of the announcement, Kusha faced a barrage of online trolling as some of her old interviews resurfaced, causing a stir among netizens. The online uproar began when an old video of Kusha Kapila and Karan Johar discussing infidelity gained viral attention. In the video, Karan expressed his opinion that sexual infidelity should not be considered as true infidelity. Kusha, in agreement, stated, "I share that belief."

However, breaking his silence amidst the overwhelming backlash, Zorawar took a stand in support of his estranged wife and condemned the online trolls, deeming their actions as "shameful." By publicly defending Kusha's character, he aimed to put an end to the unwarranted negativity surrounding their separation. 

He took to his Instagram story and wrote, "We realise we live public lives, but we still hold certain things sacred. Our marriage and respect for each other being one of them. Divorce much like our marriage was a decision we both made together, after much deliberation and thought. It was a tough and painful decision but one we took collectively, for the sake of both of our well-being. What has transpired over the last 24 hours, with Kusha being subject to vile attacks online makes me sad and disappointed. To attack Kusha’s character and paint her as some villain is shameful. Let’s all please do better." 

In their official statements of separation, Kusha and Zorawar revealed that it wasn't an easy decision for them. Their post read, "Zorawar and I have mutually decided to part ways. This hasn’t been an easy decision by any measure but we know it’s the right one at this point in our lives. The love and life we have shared together continues to mean everything for us but sadly, what we seek currently for ourselves doesn’t align. We gave it our all, until we couldn’t anymore."

On the professional front, Kusha has been a part of projects like, 'Ghost Stories', 'Masaba Masaba 2', 'Plan A Plan b', 'Selfiee' and others.
