Yami Gautam: Some designers will not give you their outfits because you are so and so

Yami Gautam is one of the finest female stars working today. She has given us some incredible films, and seeing her on the big screen is always a spectacle. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Yami revealed why she chose to wear her mother's saree on her wedding day. Gautam stated that her marriage was an augmentation of her individuality, and she considers herself fortunate because Aditya Dhar feels the same way.

When questioned about the industry's designers, the actress stated that she has had the opportunity to collaborate with some really talented designers, but she also disclosed that even in the fashion industry, some designers will not give you their costumes based on who you are.

She remembered hearing that about herself once, and narrated an incident. She said,

 "That person said, 'No, that lehenga is not for you,' to which she replied, 'What, why?!' They said, 'No, really doesn't work with that designer.' It was so hurtful. She is not sure what the criteria are; how can they end up making someone feel so bad? But this is not true for all designers; some are excellent in their job and attitude, but there is always a bad apple", she expressed. 

After the incident, she had made her mind that she will keep it simple and it would be her choice what she wants to don for her wedding. She had always planned to wear her mother's saree on her wedding day.

Meanwhile, Yami was most recently seen in A Thursday, for which she received critical acclaim. Her most recent film, Dasvi, was just released on Netflix and it has received mixed reviews thus far. Dasvi also features Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur.
