Yami Gautam shares she has a skin condition in a powerful post

For actor Yami Gautam, it has been almost like a resurgence of her career since the the past couple of years after her role and stint in the film Bala was immensely appreciated. Following that, Gautam has gone on to star in the Netflix film, Ginny Weds Sunny and the recently released Bhoot Police.

The actor while doing a terrific job with her films, has been one of the frontrunners of breaking stereotypes and notions about an array of things. She went on to shock the world with a splash of weddings images with director Aditya Dhar out of nowhere and following that she also went on to talk about how she wanted and had the simplest and most traditional of weddings. Now, the actor has gone on to make sure to break further notions about beauty and skincare as she went on to reveal in a long post about how she actually suffers from a skin condition.

In the same post, she also went on to reveal her 'untouched' photos and what motivated her to share the pictures and how she has accepted her ‘flaws’ wholeheartedly. Her post read, “I recently shot for some images and just when they were about to go in for post-production (a common procedure) to conceal my skin-condition called Keratosis- Pilaris, I thought, ‘Hey Yami, why don’t you embrace this fact and accept it enough to be OKAY with it. Just let it be... (Yes, I do talk out loud to myself), For those who haven't heard about this, it’s a skin condition wherein you get tiny bumps on the skin. I promise they aren’t as bad as your mind and your neighbor aunty makes it out to be) I developed this skin condition during my teenage years, and there is still no cure for it."

"I've dealt with it for many years now and today finally, I decided to let go of all my fears and insecurities and found the courage to love and accept my ‘flaws’ wholeheartedly. I also found the courage to share my truth with you. Phew!"

Concluding her revelation, Gautam reiterated that she feels beautiful in her own skin, with all the imperfections and 'flaws'. She also said that she didn't feel like airbrushing her folliculitis or smoothing out those under-eye dark circles or shaping up her waist after she accepted herself for who she is.

Indeed that is very brave of the actor of going on to talking about and accepting the same which further motivates everyone else. On the workfront, Gautam recently wrapped the shoot of Lost which is directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. Apart from this, Yami Gautam has Dasvi with Abhishek Bachchan. She will also be seen in A Thursday essaying the role of a play school teacher.
