Worked at a Call Centre For Money after Father Left Us: Zareen Khan Breaks Down

Actress Zareen Khan has had a difficult past and faced hardships before she ventured into Bollywood and gained popularity. Zareen has been brought up by a single parent after her father walked out on her and her mother. 

In a recent chat, Zareen opens up about the difficulties she and her family faced after her father left and they had no inherited wealth to sustain themselves. She speaks about the odd jobs she had to take up in order to earn for her family. "There was that one evening that changed our lives completely. My dad had walked out on us and left us. We didn't have any money because we didn't come from a space of inherited wealth” she shares.

Her mother Parveen Khan talks about being a single parent: "It wasn't too difficult because I had Zareen to support me. I also had my younger daughter who also has supported us through and through."

Zareen recalls the one night when her mother broke down and the family was facing a financial crisis. She had then consoled her mother that she would take care of everything. “I tried calming her down and explained to her that don't worry, I'll take care of everything. Ab maine bol toh diya tha but here I was, with over 100 kilos not knowing what I want to do” she told Pinkvilla.

The Veer actress reveals that she took up a job at a call centre too. "Then, I started taking up a job at a call centre. My sister was still studying and I had just completed my 12th. I also wanted to get a job in airline. I lost over 52 kilos weight and I almost removed an entire person off my body. But I'm happy that today, my mother feels we have sailed through it” the actress shared with a teary eye.

But today, Zareen has proved her mettle with her hard work and has appeared in Hindi movies like Veer, Housefull 2, Hate Story 3 along with a bunch of Punjabi movies.  In 2019, she made her Telugu debut with the action thriller film Chanakya.

And like it’s said all’s well that ends well. The Khan family now stands strong and is happy they survived the storm together...
