Sohum Shah has become a household name in the B-Town. His performance in the recently released movie Big Bull was loved by the audiences. He is now gearing up to play a Politician's role in his next and source reveals how excited he is to be playing the character.

A source close to the actor has revealed in a statement shared to us by his team:

“ Sohum has always tried to do something different and out of the box while taking varied roles- be it for Tumbbad, Ship of Theseus' or Talvar. He is always on the look for strong characters, so when playing a politician came up, he immediately took it up.  As you can see he has also worked hard and prepped for the role in Maharani; has added a few kgs and grown a moustache to get into the look of the character."

The source also shared how it’s a double whammy for the actor:

“It's actually one stone two birds for Sohum because Subhash Kapoor has been one of the directors he has wanted to work with and this project has made the wish come true. With the series Maharani he has achieved that as well and so he is double excited for this show and hopes the audiences love it.

From playing the role of Konkanasth Brahman in Tumbbad to playing young Indian stock broker in Ship of Theseus and Bigbull or donning the role of a cop for the first time in Fallen he has aced it all and now he is all set to play a Politician's role.

The actor will be next seen in his upcoming webseries Maharani which belongs to the political genre and will mark his first time working in that genre. He will also be seen in Excel Entertainment's Fallen.
