When Mishal Raheja outscored Jay & Gaurav...

We all know by now that Mishal Raheja and Rohit Bakshi were the top contenders to play the main lead of Datta Patil opposite Nakusha (Mahi Vij) in Colors' and Playtime Creations' Laagi Tujhse Lagan. But not all know that Jay Bhanushali and Gaurav Chopra were also in the running for the prized role.

It is heard that Jay Bhanushali and Gaurav Chopra had given look tests for the role and were strong contenders.

According to our source "Jay had even grown his mustache  and a slight beard for the look test. This was the exact look in which he was seen when he hosted the first episode of Dance India Dance. However, his chocolate boy image went against him and the channel and the production house decided not to proceed with him. On the other hand everything fell in place for Gaurav Chopra as he has this rough and tough  look. However it is heard that things didn't materialize for Gaurav because of money matters."

When contacted Jay refused to comment. Gaurav on other hand confirmed that he had given look test.

Tellybuzz was the first to report that Mishal Raheja of SAB TV's Love Story fame had bagged the role of Datta Patil. The latest news is that Mishal is all set to start shoot from tonight, and his grand entry will be aired sometime next week.
