Zee TV’s Bhagya Lakshmi is gearing up for an entertaining twist that promises high drama and loads of excitement. In an upcoming track, Lakshmi (Aishwarya Khare) and Shalu (Munira Kudrati) take a bold step by disguising themselves as men in order to dig out the truth about Malishka’s (Megha Prasad) child. Lakshmi transforms into a Punjabi man, complete with a turban and beard, while Shalu sports a wig, a moustache, beard, and even a fake belly as she sneaks into Balwinder’s (Ankit Bhatia) backyard.
While the storyline adds a quirky and adventurous angle to the show, the real effort lay behind the camera. The transformation was far from easy — the actors spent hours in makeup, donning prosthetics and elaborate costumes to convincingly portray their undercover personas. Enduring long shoot schedules in heavy makeup and padding under the scorching heat was no small feat. Yet, the biggest challenge wasn’t just looking the part — it was expressing genuine emotions and staying in character beneath layers of facial hair and disguises. This upcoming track not only promises gripping drama but also highlights the dedication and versatility of the show’s leading ladies.
Despite the challenges, Aishwarya and Munira embraced the experience with full enthusiasm, and a lot of laughter.

Sharing her experience, Aishwarya said, “It was madness — but the fun kind! The first time we saw each other in the full look, we just couldn’t stop laughing. It took immense patience, getting the beard glued on properly, adjusting the turban just right, and staying in that get-up for over 12 hours. But once we slipped into character, we were all in. We even tried mimicking how men walk and talk — the crew had a blast watching us practice our ‘manly’ walks between takes! As actors, it’s always exciting to break out of your comfort zone and try something completely different. Getting into this quirky disguise gave us a chance to explore a whole new layer of performance. It was challenging — but that’s what made it so much fun. Honestly, it’s shoots like these that remind you why you love doing what you do.”
With Aishwarya and Munira’s delightful disguises and energetic performances, this sequence is bound to leave fans entertained. But the big question remains — will Lakshmi and Shalu succeed in exposing the secret behind Malishka’s baby?
