Vrushika Mehta IN or OUT of Naamkarann?

Star Plus' Naamkarann is all set to take a leap soon. Veteran B-Town director Mahesh Bhatt's passionate project failed to click with the masses like it was expected to. However, the concept and the actors' performance was appreciated by the audience.

With the number game not on their side, the makers have resorted to the age-old leap technique. And post leap, the show will be seen undergoing many changes.

And, to accommodate the changes, the makers are searching high and low for two leading ladies for the roles of Avni and Riya. Reports of how actresses Nalini Negi and Sonal Vengurlekar had been locked down for these key roles flooded the media.

But unfortunately, that's not the case. The makers have approached actress Vrushika Mehta to play the protagonist Avni in the show. The post leap track of the show will focus on the grown-up Avni and her struggles.

Well, we tried reaching Vrushika but she remained unavailable for any comment. A source close to the actress informs us that she is not doing the show and has denied the rumor.

Well, the air has been cleared it seems.
