Vivek Dahiya, gearing up for his television comeback after a substantial hiatus, engaged in an exclusive conversation with India Forums. During the discussion, he candidly shared insights into his past experiences, particularly addressing his stage fright during the shooting of Nach Baliye. The actor also delved into his motivation for participating in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and his broader aspirations.

Your return to television is quite notable. What motivated you to choose Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa for your comeback?

I believe it's everything about Jhalak. It's not just an engaging show to watch; I've had acquaintances who participated in the past, and they've always praised the experience. They've shared insights into the demanding nature of the schedules and rehearsals. I've harbored the desire to be a part of it for a while. However, there was always the fear of not being adequately prepared. Over time, I've come to realize that you're never entirely ready. So, when the opportunity presented itself this time, I thought, why not? I aimed to evolve into a better version of myself as a dancer. In the grander scheme, I've observed many individuals transitioning from television to films after being a part of Jhalak. That's where I aspire to be, and that's why I made the decision to participate.

You've previously won a dance reality show. Do you believe that prior experience will give you an advantage in this competition?

Certainly, having familiarity with the stage and having participated in a dance show before does provide an advantage. However, winning is not the most crucial aspect. What truly matters is being on stage, conquering stage fright, and gaining valuable experience. It was six years ago, and I've been out of practice, so the key now is how much effort and practice I put in. When I stepped into rehearsals on the first day, it was undeniably nostalgic, but it also gave me goosebumps, making me think, 'Oh boy, the nerve-racking times are back.' I'm genuinely thrilled to be back in this space, and I hope to perform well as I've been giving it my all.

Vivek, you mentioned experiencing stage fright during Nach Baliye. Have you managed to overcome that fear?

Yes, I have. During the initial episodes of Nach Baliye, I used to have stage fright, and there would be moments of nervousness. Even now, regardless of one's experience, there's always a degree of unpredictability. You may be superbly prepared for an act, but something on the floor may not work in your favor, and that uncertainty always exists. So, the fear of the unknown is a constant challenge.

You said with Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, you aim to step into the bigger scheme of life and be a part of the movies. However, do you think it will also open the gates of reality shows for you?

I have been getting calls for reality shows. However, there are some shows that I identify with as a personality, and there are some that I do not. When you are a part of a reality show, it opens up the gates for other reality shows, too; it depends on how well you perform in this show. Never say never; the sky is the limit.
