Virat and Anushka Ring in 2025 with a Midnight Stroll in Sydney Amid Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Anushka Sharma is currently in Australia, accompanying her husband, Virat Kohli, as he tours the country with the Indian cricket team for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The couple welcomed the New Year in Sydney, with a video of their midnight walk surfacing on social media.

Following the conclusion of the fourth Test in Melbourne earlier this week, the team, along with Anushka, traveled to Sydney for the final Test. On Tuesday night, as Australia ushered in 2025 ahead of many other parts of the world, fans shared a video of Virat and Anushka’s low-key New Year celebrations online.

The video, posted on X (formerly Twitter), shows the couple, dubbed “Virushka” by fans, dressed in coordinated black outfits as they stroll down a Sydney street. Anushka is seen in a little black dress paired with heels, while Virat sports a black co-ord set and white sneakers. Another video angle revealed that Indian cricketer Devdutt Padikkal accompanied them during the outing.

Virat Kohli’s performance during the Australia tour has been under scrutiny, with his form raising concerns after a series of low scores. He recently faced controversy for criticizing the Australian media for photographing his children without consent. Virat and Anushka have consistently emphasized their children Vamika and Akaay’s privacy, urging photographers and broadcasters not to capture or publish images of their faces. Their social media posts also reflect this, showing no visuals of their children’s faces.

Anushka Sharma has been on an extended hiatus from acting. Her last release, Zero, came out in 2018. The actor wrapped up filming for her Jhulan Goswami biopic, Chakda Xpress, in 2023. Although the film was initially scheduled for a Netflix release in 2024, there have been no recent updates on its release date. Currently, Anushka has no announced projects in her pipeline.
