Vir Das-Preity Zinta Led 'Fresh Off The Boat' Spin-Off Moves Ahead

Fresh Off The Boat has been on the tube for a long time now, where currently the sixth season is going on and has been one of the loved shows. What makes things everything all the more interesting is how the series is now getting a spin-off which will actually be centered around an Indian family.

Considering its a spin-off, the show will portray how an Indian couple's daughter goes to the same school as Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang) thus coinciding their lives together. Bollywood actors, Vir Das and Preity Zinta have been zeroed in to play the leads of the spin-off where the former will play the father, DC and the latter will play the mother, Meena.

Fresh Off the Boat writer Rachna Fruchbom is attached to write. 20th Century Fox Television, which produces “Fresh Off the Boat” and where Fruchbom is under an overall deal, will produce.

An individual with knowledge of the situation says that this episode is not a backdoor pilot, however. If ABC should decide to further develop the spinoff, it would need to shoot a pilot during the traditional pilot season.
