Yet another instance and yet another case of a postponed wedding has come into play wherw the on-going coronavirus pandemic has only led to more delays than anything else. Of course, we have also come across a couple of instances where some couples decided to get married in a close gathering.
This time, the delay here we are talking about is actor Vipul Roy. Roy, who was planning to tie the knot with US-based fiancee, Melis Atici in August this year has now postponed the wedding owing to the pandemic.
Atici had gone to meet her family in San Francisco back in February and owing to the pandemic and cancellation of travels, hasn't been able to return ever since. Talking about the same in an interview with Bombay Times, Roy said, “We were planning to finalise the wedding date and venue after she returned from the US in March. In fact, we had already finalised the court marriage date. Her entire family was planning to fly down to India, but unfortunately, the pandemic has changed everything.”
He also mentioned further how it is not easy to stay away from each other during this crisis as he said, “We are regularly in touch through video calls and often, both of us break down. We were together for seven months in Mumbai before she left. Ever since we first met, we have never been apart from each other for so long. Having said that, we have no choice except accepting the situation."
Talking about the background of their relationship, Roy first met Atici, who runs an IT company in Decemeber 2016 during a USA tour. One thing led to another and they were in a live-in relationship with Atici juggling between both the countries.
We also hope things get better soon for the couple and they are able to get marries soon.
