Vikrant Massey Turns Villain for Rajkumar Hirani’s Pritam Pedro

Vikrant Massey has showcased his acting brilliance across films and television over the years. In 2024, he impressed audiences with back-to-back projects like Blackout, Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, Sector 36, and The Sabarmati Report. His performances in these films received widespread praise. However, after a series of successful projects, the actor announced a break to spend quality time with his family. Recently, reports of Vikrant playing a villainous role in Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming series Pritam Pedro have sparked curiosity among fans, with some even questioning his earlier decision to take a break.

According to a report by PeepingMoon, Vikrant was initially approached for the lead role in the web series but opted for a negative character due to his availability during the shooting schedule. The series, tentatively titled Pritam Pedro, features Rajkumar Hirani’s son, Vir Hirani, and Arshad Warsi in lead roles. The report stated, “Vir takes on the role initially intended for Vikrant—a young, tech-savvy police officer, while Arshad Warsi will play Pedro, an experienced cop who relies on traditional investigative methods."

The show is a milestone project for Rajkumar Hirani, as it introduces his son to the film industry. It also reunites him with Arshad Warsi after nearly two decades since the Munna Bhai series. The series is co-directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Avinash Arun and ad filmmaker Amit Satyaveer Singh. Currently being filmed in Mumbai, production is expected to conclude by March 2025.

After the announcement, social media platforms buzzed with mixed reactions. A user commented, “What about his retirement?? Lol." Another said, “Vikrant to break le raha tha na acting se uska kya hua." Some humorously compared him to Shahid Afridi for the number of retirements.

In a recent discussion, Vikrant clarified that his “retirement” was just a well-deserved break. “Ab mujhe aisa lag raha hai wahi same cheez main kar raha hun... Isiliye maine socha ki this is the right time for me," he said.

On the work front, Vikrant will star in Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan opposite Shanaya Kapoor and will join Don 3 with Ranveer Singh, which begins filming in July 2025.
