Vijay Deverakonda's self-imposed punishment after 'Liger' failure

Vijay Deverakonda, gearing up for his upcoming film "The Family Star," recently opened up about his reaction to the failure of "Liger" at the box office. Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad on April 1, the actor reflected on how he dealt with the setback.

Despite his disappointment that "Liger" did not meet expectations, Vijay emphasized that his attitude remained unchanged. However, he admitted to implementing a personal discipline, deciding to refrain from discussing the success of his films before their release for the following few projects.

During the press conference for "The Family Star," alongside co-star Mrunal Thakur and producer Dil Raju, Vijay addressed questions about the impact of "Liger's" failure on him. He acknowledged that while he hadn't undergone significant changes, he had undoubtedly gleaned valuable lessons from the experience.

He explained, "My demeanour hasn't shifted much. I'm the same person before and after a film's release. The only adjustment I've made is to avoid talking about a movie's outcome before it hits theatres. That's the penance I've imposed on myself."

With "Liger" behind him, Vijay eagerly anticipates the release of "The Family Star," a poignant family drama directed by Parasuram Petla. Reuniting with Parasuram after their successful collaboration on "Geetha Govindam," Vijay is optimistic about the film's reception. Scheduled to hit theatres on April 5, "The Family Star" promises to captivate audiences with its multilingual release, featuring Mrunal Thakur alongside Vijay Deverakonda in lead roles.
