Sardar Udham Singh, starring Vicky Kaushal, was announced by director Shoojit Sircar for release in 2019. Vicky will be seen in this biopic playing the revolutionary freedom fighter. While the filming was completed in December 2019, post-production took a long time and was further slowed by the pandemic. However, the producers have decided to skip the theatrical release in favor of a digital release.

Earlier this week, Vicky Kaushal took to his Instagram account and shared that he had completed dubbing for the film. He also captioned a photo from the studio, "Dubbed and dusted."
Shoojit Sircar directs Sardar Udham Singh, is a biopic of the revolutionary who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India, in 1940, to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The film was initially scheduled to be released on October 2, 2020. However, due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the film's release date was pushed back to January 2021. Later, the film was postponed indefinitely once more.
The film is produced by Rising Sun Films and backed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar.
