Vicky Kaushal feels grateful as PM Modi says, "Aur in dino toh 'Chhaava' ki dhoom machi....."

Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chhaava has been setting the box office on fire while receiving widespread acclaim from audiences and prominent personalities. The film, which portrays the life and valor of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has now earned the recognition of none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in New Delhi, PM Modi highlighted the importance of Maharashtra in shaping both Marathi and Hindi cinema. He acknowledged Chhaava for bringing the story of Sambhaji Maharaj to the forefront, emphasizing how Shivaji Sawant’s novel Chhava introduced many readers to his bravery. The Prime Minister noted that the film has captivated audiences across the country and commended its role in celebrating India's rich historical heritage.

The film quickly entered the prestigious Rs 200 crore club, boosted significantly by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti holiday. Trade analysts have reported record-breaking numbers, with Maharashtra leading in footfalls, followed by Rajasthan and West Bengal. The film’s gripping storytelling and Kaushal’s compelling performance have played a huge role in its overwhelming success.

With its extraordinary box office numbers and praise from dignitaries, Chhaava has cemented itself among the finest historical films of Indian cinema.
