It is one of the most festive times of the year! Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated far and wide with many welcoming Bappa to their homes. Actress and influencer Vahbiz Dorabjee opens up on how she will be celebrating the festival this year. She also chats about the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi in her life and encourages people to celebrate in an eco-friendly way.

Vahbiz firstly shares that the festival is one of her favourites, “Ganesh Chaturthi is one of my favourite festivals and I love Ganpati Bappa. I have immense faith in Ganpati. He is very lucky for me.”

The actress feels Ganpati Bappa is very lucky for her as she shares, “The importance of Ganpati Bappa is very significant in my life. I feel Bappa is very lucky for me. I have observed that every year when he comes into my life, he protects me and some or the other big troubles of my life go away.”

About this year in particular, Vahbiz says she will be making sure she visits her friends’ homes to seek blessings from Bappa, “The first two or three days of Ganpati are very important. I love to visit my friends, as I don’t keep Ganpati but I make sure that I visit all my close friends.”

Ask her about her special memories of the festival and she replies, “I have so many memories from the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. Every year it’s very memorable because I get to meet my friends. We eat together and chill, even if we can’t meet throughout the year.”

Ganesh Chaturthi is also a festival where many indulge in the sweet treats of the festival, Vahbiz is no different. She shares, “I love Modaks and Laddus. I always take pink modaks and big laddus.”

Vahbiz also encourages people to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly way, “This festival should be celebrated as eco-friendly. The worst part is after Bappa goes, the way the idols are broken, the east they are immersed in the sea polluting our entire sea and our city. I want people to take this seriously and try to take eco-friendly Ganpati, I have seen a lot of my friends do it very responsibly. They do the Visarjan in a bucket and that is very nice.”

While it is easy to get so involved in the festival and forget to be responsible, it is great to see Vahbiz Dorabjee taking the time to understand its significance and urging others to celebrate responsibly!
