TV celebrities enjoy Garba Nights and Dandiya Raas!!

Navratri is an auspicious Indian Hindu festival consisting of nine days where most of the people keep fast on all these nine days. During these nine nights, nine forms of Devi's (Goddess) are worshipped and the tenth day is known as Dussehra. During these nine days a traditional Gujarati dance form known as Garba' is widely played in many cities.

On the same we got in touch with few of the Telly town's Guajarati celebs to share with us on how do they celebrate Navratri, what is special about the Garba night and how are they celebrating this festival this year.

Giaa Manek seen playing the role of Jeannie in the show Jeannie Aur Juju on SAB TV - "I do Ambe Mata's puja at home. I like playing Garba very much but now I don't go to play as I am very much occupied with work, I am playing a triple role in my show Jeannie Aur Juju on SAB TV. But yes, I will go as a guest to attend Navratri functions that are happening in various cities. This year too like few previous years I will be working and traveling to 2-3 cities as a guest."

Juhi Parmar Shroff last seen in the reality show Bigg Boss Season 5 on Colors - "I don't go to play Garba it is just that I turn pure vegetarian for these auspicious nine days."

Shrenu Parikh seen playing the role of Aastha in the show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon... Ek Baar Phir on Star Plus - "The name of Navratri itself takes me down the memory lane. The melodious songs of Navratri, the typical Gujarati songs Pankhida Tu Udi Jaje Pavagadh re' and many more, I just love them being a Gujarati. When it comes to playing Garba I just go maniac. Be it board exams, college, work or anything I am always ready for the Garba night. Since last 2 years, I couldn't really go for entire nine days, but I manage to go to play for at least 1 day. This year too on the very first day of Navratri, I went to play garba."

Sachin Parikh seen in the show Haunted Nights - Kaun Hai Who on Sahara One - "I just love the festival of Navratri. Not because I am Gujarati but it is in our culture to celebrate this festival in a usual style which the other Gujarati's do. But this is truly one of my favorite festivals. This year I want to celebrate Navratri with my 2 year old daughter, as she too seems to be very excited to wear Chaniya Choli and play Garba. I am just waiting to get some free time from my hectic schedule, so that I can go to play Garba along with my daughter and my family at the very famous Garba night and play Garba on the on the songs sung by very well-known singer Falguni Pathak. I have not only played Garba during my school and my college times but also have won some prizes too for the same. Also I am called as a celebrity guest at many cities for the celebration of Navrati, so will be attending a few too this time."Aashka Goradia seen playing the role of Dheer Bai Bhatiyani in the historical show Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap on Sony TV - "I celebrate the festival of Navratri with lots of enthusiasm. When I used to stay in Ahemdabad, I still remember of playing garba along with my group. The garba night used to begin at 9 pm in the night and would end at 3 am in the morning. This year I am travelling to a few places to enjoy this festival even more."

Jay Soni seen playing the role of Jai Kishen in the show Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki on Colors - "I love playing Garba very much but my hectic time schedule does not allow me to go to play. Being a gujju I just love dandiya raas.  Few years back I used to fast for all the 9 auspicious days but due to hectic shoot timings I can't keep fast."
